I heard the PC version was bad. Just how bad are we talking here?

You could just go play it.

Still better than the PS4 version

It just requires a patch and high end card appearently.

It's not a bad port, but it's not good either

It doesn't remember my monitor selection and resolution when I start it, which is annoying as fuck. Other than that, it's fine.

It really is bad if only because of the FMV stutters. Amateur as fuck mistake that they never bothered to fix.

Playable but not great

plays fine on 1050 ti with far mod not as bad as GTA IV for example

>not as bad as GTA IV for example
What the fuck am I reading? You need a PC like 120 times more powerful to run Nier than GTA4.

Outside of the fullscreen option being grainy at release making me play it windowed, I had absolutely no issues, playing the game for 60 hours. I didn't use a mod or anything.

idk GTA IV runs like shit on my pc unless i turn down settings to the lowest just my experience with it

>resolution doesn't go as high as it should
>cutscenes in FMV instead of rendered, and the FMVs stutter on load
>requires more graphix than it should, but still not that much because lolconsoleport

Reasonably minor issue, nothing that is more than just annoying.

couldn't slash at all when it first launched without white screening.
but i think it is operational now and has been for a while so nothing to worry about.

>resolution doesn't go as high as it should
Yeah this is what I'm talking about in about the fullscreen. Worked just fine in windowed though.

>>resolution doesn't go as high as it should
it goes to whatever resolutions you have set.

WORKS ON MY MACHINE

My shitty computer did fine with FAR on, i did experience some crashes which pissed me off, since theres sometimes a while between save possibilities. But it didn't occur anywhere near often enough to ruin my experience

I didn't have any problems personally besides needing to use borderless gaming to make it actually run at 1080p. Just download FAR

Fixes most of the problems with the port and adjusting global illumination settings provides insane performance boosts with almost no reduction in visuals from everything I've seen.

All that being said I personally had no problems with framerate drops or anything. I've seen the game on a friends PS4 Pro as well and it has a lot of FPS drops. Game seems to be a mess technically speaking but PC is the only way to play it at a stable 60 even with the port problems.

>not on sale

why

the final part of the game with the giant worms made of robot parts caused my FPS to tank to like 5. Until then it was playable.

The PC version is fine with FAR. I have a GTX970 and a i5-3570k and hovered around 40-60 the whole time with lighting on ultra/high (the most critical option for FPS, available only on FAR).

If you wanna play before you pay, get the Fitgirl repack and look around for FAR-APPatch on github. It's a fork of FAR that works on pirated copies without crashing every 15-20 minutes. The author is angryliz or something. I tried other FAR pirate releases but they crashed.

Keep in mind that saves between steam and the pirated copy aren't immidiately compatible. I'm not sure if they're compatible at all but there's a program you can find that would be the first step in finding out, and I'm pretty sure if you took the time you could copy/paste the important stuff.

Seems like gta IV just hate modern gpu for whatever reason. My 750ti can handle gta v just fine, 60fps most of the time and 45~50 in city. Yet with IV is crawling at 30

it was 40% off for black friday

The game hitches for no reason regularly for me, I think it's because they never bothered patching for AMD cards. I have a rx480

>amd
I'm sorry

GTA IV hates GPUs from its era as well, it's just the weirdest port, the kind which might run fine on a machine but horribly on most others, even ones which share some components.

it's the worst port ever made
I'll never forget the day I got my brand new system in 2013, installed GTA 4, got 15FPS, and then uninstalled it
