American children are asleep, so let's have an intelligent discussion about BOTW
American children are asleep, so let's have an intelligent discussion about BOTW
lol he dresses up like a girl
I'm having trouble finding the chest piece for the royal guard armor, where in hyrule castle is it?
DUDE EMPTY WORLD LMAO
BOTW is overrated, its fanbase is smug and obnoxious, the same can also be said for the BOTW shitposters, BOTW threads should be banned, whether they are sucking the games dick or shitposting about it.
up ur butt lel
great thread, eurocucks
I meant the legs, not the chest
i really like zelda
I have over 200 hours in but after finishing the DLC (in Master mode) there's nothing left to do. I haven't done the trail of the Sword in Master Mode but I kinda hate it? And I don't feel like getting all 900 Korok seeds. What else is there to do?
Australians are awake and at large though.
>intelligent discussion
>too dumb to look through the catalog and see there's already a BOTW thread discussing game design and such up
Good job Europe.
Nintendo games are for trannies and nu-males.
Get out.
There really should be a separate Nintendo board.
Don't you want to ride the bike around the world and collect the korok seeds? The exploration makes this game fun and even more fun with the bike
I played it for 30-40 minutes at a friend's house and it felt like a kid's game. Went back home and booted up modded skyrim to purge undead in the name of Meridia
So? Not only are we getting an intelligent discussion but a GOOD discussion as well.
That thread is filled with 18-24 year old children, that's why I made this thread
_ ____ __ ____ _____!
what is with the completely irrelevant dead beetle in the corner?
>25+ threads
You do realize there aren't more 25+ people in there than any other thread right? There is nothing stopping younger people from posting.
Aren't the legs in the guard's chambers?
I want to kiss Zelda!
>Got all 120 Shrines
>Was thinking of maxing all armor sets to max
>All that grinding
I think I had enough gonna go to Hyrule Castle now. Also got glitch stuck in a Shrine when I bombed myself.
Where inside the castle is it?
I want to be Link!
you go play other shit in your vidya library, obviously
dont be fuckin retarded, user
Oh you thought you could get away with a thread like this
without me showing up?
I'm still awake motherfucker
I think it's somewhere around that tower room with the updraft and the moblin on the lower level. But I could be very wrong.
But the guard's chambers is one of those rooms with a bunch of royal weapons and knight statues. It should say guard chambers or something upon entering.
Op here, I cant watch webms, please turn it into a gif so I can see what you posted
Heil Hitler
I went there a million times, it's not there
The royal guards armor looks exactly like a nazi uniform. I'm not joking
I'm disappointed in it.
I really love the world design. You go around the corner and find a places completely different. In that regard it's the best open world design.
But I can't deal with the repetition of the game's content. Koroks and shrines. That's it, of you don't wanna count the fetch quests.
Because it makes the world so utterly predictable.
>What will be on top of this mountain?
>A shrine or a korok puzzle
You can apply this it anything in the game. No matter how interesting a ace looks, it will only have those two things. Or a lyonel.
I cleared three of the 4 titans, and my will to continue or "explore" is gone completely.
You just described most games. They follow the same boring structure. BOTW has characters that have been around a long time. Other games have boring worlds/characters and focus too much on realistic graphics
what is there to do after you collect all the seeds?
game seems boring after that.
thats too bad, you're missing out on some webms here
>1 ass pic
this thread sucks OP
I can't post the images I have because they have nudity
Looks just as shit as every other, but you believe whatever you want to believe.
I am a big supporter of Nintendo and to some degree I love Zelda BOTW but the world is completely empty when compared to Witcher 3.
I'm disappointed in it.
I really love the world design. You jump over an obstacle and land somewhere completely different. In that regard it's the best sidescrolling platformer design.
But I can't deal with the repetition of the game's content. Blocks and pits. That's it, of you don't wanna count the pipes.
Because it makes the world so utterly predictable.
>What will be inside of this block?
>A coin or a mushroom?
You can apply this it anything in the game. No matter how interesting a ace looks, it will only have those two things. Or a starr.
I cleared 6 of the 8 worlds, and my will to continue or "jump" is gone completely.
Yes, the first two SMB are complete shit. You're an idiot mate.
I hear that a lot. Are they characters interesting? Do you actually care about the story? The witcher 3 looks boring to me
they killed him and stole his bed
completely relevant
*inhales*
>You just described most games
Open world games? The difference being that even Assassin's Creed games have literally more types of content to film that world with.
So I'm stating my problems with the game, and you just copy paste it and apply it to a completely different game of a completely different genre.
What you did doesn't make the slightest sense in any regard, and is really just plain retarded.
You care about the game so much that you made a chart?
This is a princess
The Witcher just has more story and quests with developments.
Looking at the world beyond that and it's incredibly barren with little to do. Like the fact how there are countless of truly meaningless and worthless NPCs with nothing to them beyond being window dressing and backdrop to the city.
The whole world is full of so many set pieces that you can't ever even interact with or in many instances not even walk up to. Let alone alone do anything with.
By the end of the day they're very different games and what Witcher 3 does well it does pretty well. But then there is everything it just straight up doesn't do at all and that is a lot.
If The Witcher 3 looks boring to you then it probably is. Unless you like the story or narrative.
>Are they characters interesting? Do you actually care about the story?
Not him but unlike BOTW, TW3 actually has a story and characters
Nintendo didn't care about their game enough to make 50+ enemies
We're waking up now though. I just woke up from a dream where me and some fictional friends were arguing about where the singer from Oasis was from, we were looking at a map of Africa and pointing out different countries. While this was happening, Marge Simpson was decorating the house for Christmas with various fruits and Grandpa Simpson kept taking fruit from the basket and Marge was getting pissed. Then a bunch of Pokemon where encouraging me to piss in their mouths and I finally woke up and actually had to piss so here I am.
But yeah, I have BOTW on Wii U but I have a Switch now, I'll probably rebuy it some day, it's my GOTY.
Do you care about that content? Do you have fun with that content?
You think Europe doesn't know Switch and all its games are shit? Look at the charts man, you are in sonyland now GTFO with your subpar graphics and empty gameplay
I like how it lists fucking Morths and Rats for Wind Waker, including Red and Blue Bubbles as separate entries.
Yet for Breath of the Wild it doesn't even list any of the wild animals like Wolves or Bears. Let alone all the skeleton variants of the enemies.
And yes the enemy variety of Breath of the Wild kind of blows. But that doesn't make this comparison any less shit.
It's impossible to criticize BOTW without getting called a shitposter or getting mocked by the fanboys.
You better be a girl
Most Ubistoft Games you mean.
So this is yet another thread where nintenbabbies show that they can't handle criticism of their generic open world game?
Why even bother at this point? These threads always go the same:
>people post their issues with the game
>fanboys post 10/10 Polygon snaps and continue to disregard any criticism by stating how great they think it is.
red and blue bubbles aren't separate entries in wind waker. the picture of is both of them, but they're only counted into the sum once. l2count
morths and rats have totally different behaviors. Rats run around and collide with you normally, but also come in a variant that throws bombs, which are only counted as 1 enemy
morths hide in tall grass and hop on you to slow you down and only move when link moves
stal is counted as 1 enemy type in botw separate from bokoblin/lizalfos/moblin. Look again, its right there
>wolves or bears
it doesn't list bees for any of the games either
tp had bees
ss had bees
bees and wolves and bears aren't enemies
wolfos are enemies
ambient creatures are not
More fun that I have with korok puzzle #354 and yet another shrine.
You need to spend less time on fantasy and more time in reality.
I'm not asleep. And it's awful
I'm an American and BotW is the best game of all time
#NotAllWhitePigs
I guess we will never understand each other
*inhales*
Inhales what?
I feel like most of the fanboys never really played many other open world games as sales usually show that mainly 1st party titles sell really well, while some 3rd party games do sell pretty good, but still not as much as 1st party. I guess it's the first or one of the first open world games these people have tried. I'm not saying Assassin's Creed or any other open world game is better, but BoTW isn't great either. It's not much different from other open world games. There's barely any story, enemy variety is shit, side quests are boring like in most open world games, the world itself is barren and like other anons said mostly contains some shrines, enemy camps and korok puzzles and so on. I don't really get the praise it's getting aside from it being a Zelda and a Nintendo game.
What makes me laugh is how people claim it revolutionized open world game genre.
Post lewds
Why's it so shitty quality I can't see anything
Nintendo fans want fun, everyone else wants story, realism
I just hope Breath of Wild's success hasn't buried 2-D Zelda. ALBW was a great start towards something, the engine it runs on is super good. All Nintendo needs to do is design a new overworld and dungeons, and remove the rental system and it'd perfect,
>morths hide in tall grass and hop on you to slow you down and only move when link moves
And wolves will circle you and take pot shots at you until you hurt one of its pack.
And boars will ram you from the side if you make a loud noise.
The farts
I don't see how another open world game that isn't any different from others fun. Maybe I'm just getting tired of all the open world games.
the sweet scent of flowres :)
>the ambient creatures can deal 0.25 hearts of damage if you stand afk next to them whistling
botwposters must be real desperate to cover up their games lack of enemy variety if ur gonna start claiming that the boars and wolves are replacements for like-likes and tektites
you can't even Z-target them, the game's own compendium lists them as ambient critters, not enemies, they don't stay dead when you leave the area and respawn in a blood moon, they don't drop monster parts or weapons, they don't really even try to kill you, they run away and disappear
My biggest gripe with the game is the over reliance of the ragdoll stuff for enemies. Chasing enemies you've knocked over isn't very fun or engaging, and is actively aggravating when you're trying to get certain parts from the monster and they go flying off a cliff or slide down something.
Bad dungeons, bosses and music
...
What's with that triforce in the corner?
zelda is a cool guy
i like you can customize his clothes
You get that from a lootcrate
Probably not. But I hope nonetheless that you have fun with the game you like user
>chain enemy
>hit few times
>fly across map
great game design
Are you for real going to argue that Morths are more enemy than the wolves of Breath of the Wild, because of the compendium and because you can't Z-target them?
Also it's not like the compendium doesn't list them as enemies. It doesn't list them as monsters. There is a difference.
They're clearly hostiles opposing the player. They're your enemies.
How can you say the world is barren? Shrines, korok seeds and sidequests are everywhere, giving you small challenges to take on while you explore a new area. Lack of quest markers or natural barriers make you remember landmarks all over the map, instead of blindly following an arrow like you would in other modern open world games. Barely any handholding, all up to player discovery and exploration. Best part is that the world is designed around the abilities of Link and the challenges you can overcome or trivialize as you get more and more powerful. In games like Skyrim or screedo you don't get this. It's all designed with an algorithm, realistic houses or mountains that don't complement exploration or special movement abilities. And because of all this, the game can thrive without endless exposition; teaching the player through the world design and keeping tutorials and unnecessary story to the minimum. This is why people who actually know their fucking stuff are praising this game.
>Shrines, korok seeds and sidequests are everywhere
That's not a good thing when they're shit. Ubisoft games are also full of collectibles and pointless sidequests but no one is praising them for doing it. You can also customize the hud in most games so you won't have a quest marker.
>trying to reason with botw fanboys
lmao
>Shrines, korok seeds are everywhere
No him but that's exactly the problem. Shrines are boring after the fifth or so, and korok puzzles aren't even worth mentioning. And both types of content take a minor amount of effort. Then you're back walking again for 20 minutes to solve another 3min shrine or 30 second korok puzzle.
>Sidequests
You mean the "bring me x of y" sidequests? Or the ones leading to yet another shrine? Because thats all there is.
BOTW has content for like 2-3hrs then it runs out and just repeats itself ad nauseum.
Every AC game has more content variety that BOTW. And that's just embarassing.
What you're describing is a tech demo, not a game.
Why are they shit? Shrines are (mostly) fun puzzles and sidequests often require you to observe the environment to find clues to your objective, which is also interesting. And korok seeds have a practical use, they're not just collectibles
Exploration was good and the world was impressive, but enemy verity, the story and weapons are a joke.
If they kept the game in the oven for a year or two more the game would have been a masterpiece. As of now it's just a good, memorable game with big flaws.
Also the performance is shit, at least on the wii u.
Master mod.
The characters in botw are boring and unmemorable as shit though.
I've given up on BOTW discussion.
Because everything people say is just met with "no its great!" responses.
I confess I haven't finished the game 100%, but I found the majority of shrines before I got tired and went for the ending of the game. At that point the did get repetitive, but that was 110 hours into the game! And I loved every second of it, because I had explored and remembered all these interesting areas on my own. I felt accomplished about it, as opposed to just ticking off a checklist. Maybe I should turn off HUD elements in other games too, maybe I'm just easy to please. I loved BOTW, and I'd take another game with a similar world over another wrpg with generic story and characters that force the gameplay along.
Because they can't carry the game. And it has nothing else to offer.
Its probably better on the Switch but it still has slowdowns more than enough
>complaining about children in these threads
Dudes, seriously, just look at the game
This IS for children, period.
This, pretty much
>as opposed to just ticking off a checklist.
Which is literally what the game is. Because there's only one quest - and thats to defeat ganon. Everything else is just a checklist to improve yourself.
I'm glad you had fun with "checklist - the game", but many others didn't.
