Where were you when TF2 was kill?

Where were you when TF2 was kill?
>considerably worse performance than in 2007
>both competitive and casual modes have no real ELO so 10-year vets can be matched up against players that have just installed the game for the first time
>Pyro's reworked flame particles allow players to hit their targets by mindlessly swaying their mouse from left to right while holding W+M1, while still dealing full DPS. On top of that, flamethrower damage was buffed. Link to a video explaining this in detail: youtu.be/aIIgr_qt8mw?t=116
>no new halloween content for two years in a row
>economy crashing, one key now costs over 35 refined metal
>cat-bots (aimbotting AI that is programmed to join servers in droves) now fill nearly all casual matchmaking servers
>all of the servers listed in the server browser are trade, idle or minecraft servers

Those bots would flood the chat so when you tried telling the other team to kick it, your message disappeared immediately

I realised it was time to call it a day with TF2 when last year's updates weren't great, and this year had barely any. Is it really that hard just to find a bunch of miscs off the workshop and release them? Even if I don't get any of them it would look like valve hasn't abandoned the game.

Also this year's big update was okay, but just wasn't enough to get me playing it again regularly. I miss goofing around on minecraft servers and jailbreak with friends, but now the servers are gone and my friends don't play it either.

The sad thing is that I could tolerate all of this shit if pub/casual matches didn't always devolve into me getting stuck with sentry buster duty as soldier for the millionth time.

I still play TF2 sometimes. Its still the only game where I can just jump in and have fun shooting at people who are way below my own skill level.

never because isn't dead

TF2 is in a vegetative state, really.

Not dead but not quite alive.

Really I could live with current TF2 if only they didn't make Casual so shitty. Old Valve servers were alright and team balance is a necessary evil.

Catbots only exist in Harvest servers so no value is lost.

That's the problem with source, not tf2. I've heard they're porting it to source 2 tho.
>both competitive and casual modes have no real ELO so 10-year vets can be matched up against players that have just installed the game for the first time
And wait 10+ minutes for a game?
>Pyro's reworked flame particles allow players to hit their targets by mindlessly swaying their mouse from left to right while holding W+M1
Just like with real flamethrowers? Maybe you should think of something better instead of "WAAAAAAAAAH PYROS BAD GABEN FIX"
Stop complaining about pyro, he's practically harmless outside of his range and is deadly inside his range, which is the whole fucking point of his class. Sniper can 1 shot every class from across the map, soldier and demo can rocket/stickyjump, scout is fast, pyro fucking burns you in close range.
>no new halloween content for two years in a row
Blame Gaben and his retarded policies.
>cat-bots (aimbotting AI that is programmed to join servers in droves) now fill nearly all casual matchmaking servers
Has literally never happened to me. Even more, I saw, maybe, like 5 cheaters in the past year both on custom and official servers.
>economy crashing, one key now costs over 35 refined metal
Who cares.
>all of the servers listed in the server browser are trade, idle or minecraft servers
This one is legit, MyM ruined everything.

>tfw pub micspam is broke

if the 10 person dev team hadn't shit the bed with MYM we would have something worth playing. as it is with 5.3k hours I'm stuck playing with people that have just installed. I can play drunk off my ass and still top score. All i wanna do is play with equal skill players without having to devote time to playing in ESEA or UGC and I can't do that.

they've confirmed they are not porting it to source 2

I quit when
>le LMFAO!!!! the pyro fartsssss guys!!!! xDDD

hats killed it years ago

>not F2P years before hats

lol

matchmaking for casual killed it for me. had a fun 1800 hours though

>That's the problem with source, not tf2. I've heard they're porting it to source 2 tho.
False and false.
>And wait 10+ minutes for a game?
The game is the 6th most played game on Steam

spotted the pyro main, watch the video and try to justify that amount of damage with that little aim
>Blame Gaben and his retarded policies.
Of course I'm blaming Valve. There aren't nearly enough people working on TF2 and the ones that are, are only there to keep it on life support.
>Has literally never happened to me. Even more, I saw, maybe, like 5 cheaters in the past year both on custom and official servers.
They only recently resurged on casual servers.
>Who cares.
Traders that spend money on the game, which ultimately is what keeps the game alive.

>pyro mains find absolutely nothing wrong with this

Jesus christ this is your complaint? Tf2 died like 7-8 years ago, you are obsessed with a dead game.

Hats came before f2p jesus how young are you

>False and false.
Second is false, though I still have hope, but the first one is not. Source was not meant for the hardware we use now and it wasn't meant for games that size, imagine the amount of everything that was added since 2007.
>spotted the pyro main
Nope, I'm kind in the middle between soldier, sniper and scout.
>The game is the 6th most played game on Steam
Doesn't mean shit, it has only what, 70k players? And that across the globe, for example I have no trouble finding a game back home in Russia at any time of the day, but here, in Thailand, sometimes I have to wait up to 3-5 minutes at night.
>watch the video
Nope, too lazy.
>try to justify that amount of damage with that little aim
I won't, because I don't need to. If pyro had shit damage in close range as well, that would make him completely useless. As I've said, if you were killed by pyro, it's either your fault that you got into his range, or he is just good and managed to ambush you.
>Traders that spend money on the game, which ultimately is what keeps the game alive.

it's 5 am

I doubt valve would kill off tf2 if it stopped bringing revenue, though on the other side they couldn't think of a way to monetize L4D2 and that game is dead. Anyway, I also doubt that trading hats brings a lot of money to valve.

Again, not a pyro main, but most of those kills are in tight rooms and hallways, what do you expect, that pyros strong point. Or do you want him to be as shit in close range as he is in long range?

No it didn't, in 2014 it was hitting 100,000 peak players even after being out for 7 years, now it's hitting 70,000 and slowly decreasing.

>L4D2 and that game is dead
>10k players on steam
Eeeh

It hasn't been updated in how long? 4 years? 5? If this is not dead, then I don't know what is.

Lawbreakers is dead

any game with a 5-digit playercount by definition is not dead

The second video is clearly a dumbass glitch that nobody would think is okay.
The first video is full of random crits and truly retarded pub shitters who deserved to get killed. Let's break down some of these clips:
>A scout runs headfirst into the pyro's flamethrower and fails to meatshot
>two demomen with zero situational awareness die for being stupid, then a heavy runs in circles like a retard instead of revving up to kill the pyro and *still* only dies to a random crit
>Heavy with the world's most embarassing tracking can't kill a pyro that's runs right in front of him while he's still
Unless there's some glitch going on here that I'm not seeing, there really isn't much of an issue.

>not being updated means is dead
As long as its still being played, its not 'dead'
Just means daddy valve doesnt love it any more

We need a new adaptation of this game on switch.

Not f2p to avoid the virgins hackers.

ehh, yeah, you're right
Let me rephrase it. It's not dead as LB dead as in just a skeleton on the floor that nobody wants to do nothing with and you can even fuck it because it's a skeleton, what are you gonna fuck? Bones? But it is dead in a way as a half-rotten corpse is dead, surely the body is dead, but it has a bit maggots and shit in it, so technically it's not completely dead, it still has some life in it and you can even fuck it if you want to!

>We need a new adaptation of this game on switch
Hahaha yeah the twitch gameplay on joycons
Do you reload the rocket launcher by smashing one against the other
L m a o some people

There's literally no fuckin way people seriously enjoy this game.

CSGO isnt F2P but it has most hackers in any game.

Nigga that is a shit allegory for the situation
Its an old game that people can still appreciate and enjoy and for which people still form 4 player parties and have a lot of fun
Having 'more updates' would hardly improve the content already present in the game
Your view of videogames as a thing thats trash if it doesnt get new skins every month is absurd and disgusting

It died spiritually when the playerbase was replaced by hat farmers and 12 year olds looking for a free game to play.

>around 60k daily players
>got an update 2 days ago
>b-but I saw a guy with a banana hat!

I'd rather play a vanilla version of TF2 on switch with console controls than staying in this unholy turd that is nu-tf2.

This, what made tf2 fun was the maps and the mercs and how they played. The only thing they need to add in an arena shooter is more maps/weapons. Literally it. A (food analogy) is better with (ingredients metaphor) than (blahblah).

TL:too autistic more gameplay for your game adds to your game.

>Its an old game that people can still appreciate and enjoy and for which people still form 4 player parties and have a lot of fun
Well, yeah, you can appreciate a half-rotten corpse too, it just doesn't feel as good as before.
>Having 'more updates' would hardly improve the content already present in the game
>new guns wont improve gameplay
>new infected wont improve gameplay
>new special infected wont improve gameplay
>new items wont improve gameplay
Yeah, right ;)
>Your view of videogames as a thing thats trash if it doesnt get new skins every month is absurd and disgusting
Fuck off, I'm not an OWtard and have never said anything about skins because those are not actual content. But, like, maybe 2 new campaigns a year would be nice and would refresh the feel from the game in general.

>you can appreciate a half-rotten corpse too
Atleast make it a food analogy. How many times does it have to be told that the 1s and 0s in games do not age or rot.. You're just not a child anymore.

>6 or so maps, including hydro, dustbowl and 2fort
>no ulockables (and yes, this is bad)
>pyro can only w+m1
Nah man

OR A NEW FUCKING MERCANARY
remember seeing this shit years ago getting hyped for a new merc to play, it's on par with revealing a new hero in overwatch which brings in back the 100s of players that were bored and burnt out to have something new to play with.
