Arcsys managed to keep Susanoo under wraps. That company is locked up tight. However to play devil's advocate there are three other companies in the mix this time, so maybe it's not so outlandish.
Anyway if it's true, I'm happy for Tsubaki, Mai, Seth and Roman. Now to hope for Hakumen, Merkava, Wagner, Yukari, Margaret, Adachi and Pyrrha.

I'm thinking more along the lines of on-disc DLC, like they did in P4U. If they announce a very close release date for 2018 (like, Q1) then I think they might leave at least one of them out to have more time to finish her.

Look, if you suspend your disbelief for anime fighters like Blazblue and Persona then you can do it for RWBY, and if you don't for any of them then RWBY is probably something that you will not enjoy, because believe it or not it's exactly the fucking same.
They try to give it the standard shonen explanation of "it's their ki/chakra/mana/aura", and that's as far as that's gonna go. A real life skinny 14-15 year old can't swing around a steel scythe-gun longer than she's tall, but anime isn't real life. Simple. It's not exactly "being an open mouthed idiot", it's accepting or not the flimsy explanation the show gives you.
