>We just learned that we have a lot of copyright strikes from the past 5 days, all on Streets of Rage music. Thankfully, we were given a 7 day grace period before being terminated.
well, lads a lot of good vidya music is about to be deleted off youtube
this is kind of videogames, so I thought i'd let you know in case you dudes try and find music from this person and find their account is deleted
Is this someone making their own mashups, or just re-uploading soundtracks?
Kevin Campbell
Fuck, now I need to download my faves, this was my playlist for work
Gabriel Ortiz
>Streets of Rage
What's up with Sega and hating anyone promoting that franchise? Make and upload a Sonic fangame and they don't care, but make a remake of the Streets of Rage games and they go completly apeshit
Jonathan Thompson
FUCK
Unironically used this. F
Jose King
What's up with Sega an Streets of Rage copyright? This isn't an isolated incident; every time I hear of a copyright strike by Sega on youtube it's Streets of Rage most of the time. That and the remake they shut down. Why are they so protective of an IP they haven't used in decades, while mountains of Sonic bullshit goes unshoveled?

They threw around copyright strikes for all Shining Force videos when they were releasing a new Shining Force game. This might mean they're planning on releasing a new Streets of Rage.
David Ortiz
Is there anything on that channel that's exclusively on that channel? It would suck to lose an entire soundtrack from youtube because of Sega's paranoia.
Lincoln Cook
Isn't there a secondary channel? I remember seeing as BrawlXXXXX5 channel a bit ago.
Hunter Scott
Who cares? Guy sounds like this happens to him every day. Because this has happened to him before and he's an actual coder and modder. He was one of the big boys in the Brawl hacking scene and was basically the lead in hacking Smash 4's music. Even if he can get back the claims, he is one script away from bombarding a new channel with all the previous vids minus the struck ones.
Isaac Carter
youtube-dl has a setting to download all videos from a given channel. in specified formats and quality. rg3.github.io/youtube-dl/
Jace Wright
Just archive it and reupload 7 days is more than enough time to do that Not a big deal
Jordan Gutierrez
Why are they even doing this? On youtube alone, you can get streets of rage ost from several channels. And that's only youtube. Anyone who wants to get this from the internet will. Trying to censor something on the web is and has always been a futile endeavour. Surely a company as big as Sega should know this.
Robert Carter
>actual high rip channel gets blasted >lq shit like crunchii and vector still alive Wat
Owen White
They're probably still around because they're so low quality it trips up Youtubes content matching software.
Ian Wood
Reducing the quality actually stops it from being automatically detected by the copyright filter
Jack Allen
>some other extender that isn't based brawl fought tooth and nail not to die against the same record company taking brawl down >Brawl just gets to work on making a new channel instead of trying to save one of the top 1000 viewed channels in the world Truly gives 0 fucks.
Anthony Roberts

What's going on with youtube lately? I heard some stuff about monetization and lately a lot of stuff gets striked
to make a long story short: US copyright law is a bitch
Brayden Nelson
Damn, this sucks. Goodbye a lot of my bookmarks.
Julian Moore
>simple copyright strikes Vector was able to get out of >the best fucking extender flat out does nothing Are you fucking kidding me? Is it too arsed to do something about it?
Parker Brooks
I don't think it's a new game. I believe they're releasing a Streets of Rage vinyl in the UK.
Wyatt Garcia
They should move to dailymotion Pete, I...
Hunter Morris

>We'll be doing 1 hour extensions instead of the 30 minutes if we decide to resume things.
I know youtube has a loop option but sometimes you only want to listen to 30 minutes ya know.
Angel Gomez
This is just a publicity stunt, Youtube NEVER gives warnings about these things. If you go over the strike limit that's it, you're terminated. You don't get a grace period, they just fuck you.
Alexander Rogers
>1,178,967,725 views this channel has over one BILLION fucking views, about to vanish into thin air.
Isaiah Cruz
The copyright strikes on Streets of Rage are actually from Wayo Records, the company releasing the new vinyl OST, not Sega. Do they even have the legal right to do this? Sega are the ones who actually own the rights to the music.
Cooper Brooks
You are a bona fide cunt.
Camden Wood
It's not even law, it's precedent. Some dipshit judge with no foresight whatsoever ruled eons ago that because a company didn't vehemently defend its copyright that it didn't have any right to sue someone for violating it, effectively making them lose said copyright.
Jason Carter

>Shitload of vidya music going to be wiped, probably making some niche tracks a lot harder to find >On the other hand, my search history won't be polluted with those shitty thirty minute extensions any more
Mixed feelings.
Grayson Howard
good i'm sick of trying to find ost and get a million results of shitty half hour extensions hope that hyper autistic remix channel is next
Brody Stewart
How do you loop on YouTube? Do I have to add something to the url? Do I need a third party option? Can I do it in the Android app?
Jaxson Edwards
This is my homework music back in the day but I'm sure this guy is in the modding community as well?
Michael Hughes
>Only thing I ever hear about youtube since I quit using it is how shit it is >People still use it
Wayo Record are releasing a digital version. They do own the rights to the digital version as well. That's the shit thing about soundtracks being taken seriously and put on vinyl.
Sega is one of the only fan game friendly companies as well. Sega America allegedly purposely waited till SOR Remix was released and distributed before putting the legal hammer down because it would allow the game to get out and be distributed by filesharing but they still defended their copyright. It's shitty but they have to do something.
Luke Scott
What would you recommend using over Youtube?
Joseph Thompson
Vidli, but it's less a replacement and more of a small community that's fun to post in and check out because your shit will actually be seen by people And the sites design is my favorite of any video hosting site, pulling directly from old youtube style But whether it grows into a youtube replacement remains to be seen. In the meantime I'll be posting vids hoping to hit it big early on.
Jaxson Harris
If you are not tech retarded, you know you can use Smash Custom Music. Even anime shit gets uploaded, it's a community of extenders that basically are the reason music hacks are in Smash games.
Kayden Edwards
If it becomes the next big thing, are there any measures in place to prevent being bought out just like Youtube once was? We need to stop the tech giants from centralizing the internet any further.
Anthony Perry
The ending of a track is just as important as the beginning.
Aaron Green
>implying everyone caring about the page is caring because of smash mods and not just because it's nice to have extended versions of songs on youtube for putting on as white noise while browsing Sup Forums or doing other stuff
Jordan Bailey
>You know realize half of your favorites went to this channel Goddamnit.
David Gonzalez
Except that's wrong: There's literally a supreme court ruling saying companies are free to not go after infringing works if they don't want to with no risk to losing their copyright. There IS a wsy to lose your trademark if you don't protect it, but even this only happems in super specific circumstances, and wouldnt be a risk with shit like fangames
Ian Myers
>That's the shit thing about soundtracks being taken seriously Yeah, video game music is not real music.
Ryder Martin
isn't he just going to make a new channel then? I'm pretty sure it's his 3rd account that got banned so far.
Hudson Cook
he already has
Brandon Sanchez
See I would use the site, but when playing a song from the song page (not the game page with the player on the bottom right) the songs lags and freezes for short periods. YouTube was just a nice clean easy to use method.
Far as I can see it's being led by the type of people who are vehemently against things like that Stylistic updates are entirely optional, it maintains partnership like youtube has where you can monetize vids (long as you're not uploading copyrighted stuff naturally) It's like if old youtube never went to shit Even the community isn't half bad, besides the lack of content you'd expect But that's just opportunity to innovate

Lucas Nelson

Jaxson Cruz
>having this much of a shit taste
Chase Lopez
I fucking hate normalfags why are you here
Adam Cruz
If you interested in old VG music you should check out ruiner9 on youtube. He rips and uploads full soundtracks and makes playlists for each and every game so its easy to find what you're looking for.
Isaiah Campbell
>Calling me a normalfag >While defending literally streaming the music off YouTube >Doesn't have a 300+gb video game music collection downloaded
Wyatt Wilson
Literally Literally L I T E R A L L Y
Ryder Bennett
Yeah, I'm sure all those video game companies are releasing 15min+ seamless loops of their tracks.
Dipshit.
Jackson Myers
FAKE publicity stunt. Youtube NEVER warns people before being terminated, especially for copyright. And if they did, youtube would certainly lock the account to prevent them from uploading any more videos. This is the same stupid shit that happened with the le funny vidya-game rips flintstone channel with the whole "100% totally my final rip guys i'm leaving youtube for good please get sad" ad infinitum.
Liam Foster
Again. Why would you want to listen to the same song for more than 2 loops? Is it autism? Am I triggering your autism?
Noah Clark
Brawlbrstms, or in reality, smash custom music ain't dead nor will it die. The channels are basically just for fun. Everything that is an actual rip and not a recording, crunchii, comes from certain files that 95% of the time come from this site: smashcustommusic.com. Every smash music hack worth its salt uses this site, it's the real force behind the channel. Think about it like Doctor Who, he regens every four years or something like that.
Nicholas Martin
>listening to videogame music plebs
Cameron Jenkins
It's not why, it's why not.
Brandon Miller
>Extended to 30 minutes And nothing of value was lost
Kayden Gonzalez
So you're saying only a normalfag wouldn't have downloaded the songs they wanted autistic 30+ minute loops of from here already?
Ian Morris
NOOOO YOU'RE A NORMALFAG LOSER FOR NOT WANTING TO LISTEN TO THE SAME SONG 15 TIMES IN A ROW
