One of the great action games, a more mobile leaner variant of the DMC action style. Basically just learn to block and dodge and the rest will come with practice.

Team Ninja shit the bed after Itagaki and his team left. Not that he was some kind of messiah that made TN what it was, but they clearly suffered from losing key staff, and it shows in Sigma 2, 3, Other M, etc.
They only really started to recover recently it seems, given that Nioh was arguably the best thing they've made since NGII.

Other M doesn't seem bad (gameplay wise)

I would absolutely love to play Ninja Gaiden Black but I adamantly refuse to do so out of principle until it's on the Switch.

The Switch has spoiled me. I will never go back to the old way of gaming.

It's not the worst gameplay ever, but switching between first and third person is very clunky and the dodge mechanic is dumb. It just got old to me pretty quickly. It's true that Super didn't have especially good gameplay either, but the rest of the game is what makes it good.

As long as NGB and Jade Empire run on it I'll be happy. Also I want to commit crimes against good taste by playing the rest of the Halo games since I loved CE on PC. And Gears too because I liked the comics.

An average game with an awful camera, enemy ai, and boring graphics and environments, and some of the shittiest platforming and "puzzles" in a game. Play the sequel on a 360 instead, where you leave every area behind you into a red misty mess with much prettier graphics and more visceral sounds and weapons

Concentration is awful as a mechanic, as is how you fire missiles (I believe that was Sakamoto's fault though), and the timings on dodge were incredibly lenient other than that the gameplay was good for the first hour until I dropped it.

NG is easily the best franchise of all time.
The story is great with a great twist and the environments and plot change enough to keep it interesting. The cinematics are masterpieces on their own and will give you chills.

The game is fucking tough, but you will learn to love it - it has everything a good ninja game should have.

NG2 is my favorite game of all time.
PROTIP- make sure you get all the scarbs on th airship, as you cannot go back
PROTIP2 - on chapter 7 make sure you have potions in your inventory at all times, as when you hit the checkpoint for ALMA you cannot go back.

Why do people complain about Ninja Gaiden's difficulty? It literally forces you to learn how to win. It's very technical and skill-based unlike something like Souls. Souls and NG are difficult for very different reasons. I feel like NG rewards the player a lot more for putting in time and effort to learn it.

I dont get this. Hell when I ordered the game it got delayed so I called the shop what the fuck was going on. The guy on the phone even mentioned that the first boss was hard as hell.

Then I played it, tried blocking, which gets your face smashed, tried ranged, which gets reflected, tried attacking, which works poorly, so I used the new attack you got from the scroll. Which makes him a pushover. So i figured he just was a tutorial boss to force you to use all your moves rather than just smash quick attack. Same with the firebreathing horseman. He hurts from every side so you have to figure out to just kill the mages and then use the bow.

Nioh can't compare to NGB and NG2. The enemy variety is lacking for such a slow paced game.
