VR on PC through Android?

I'm thinking that with bluetooth it might be possible but I'm unsure if the effort would pay out or be worth it in the end. I already have a bluetooth adapter on my computer that's hooked up to my controllers, and for christmas I got one of those shitty 15$ VR headsets that uses bluetooth to capture the sound from the phone while using the gyroscope in the phone to move around in the applications.

TL;DR Do you guys think it's possible to stream a game from my PC to my phone so that I could use the android VR headset on my phone to play VR games on my PC?

;;;Pic related to the headset

If you guys don't know, what board would I go to to find people that might be able to answer?

Not possible.

What about wifi streaming to the phone and trying to use it that way?

No.

Well shit, thanks for letting me know user.

bro stop trying to cheap out i see you post this everywhere. Its like asking to turn salt into diamonds

>TL;DR Do you guys think it's possible to stream a game from my PC to my phone so that I could use the android VR headset on my phone to play VR games on my PC?
As long as you don't mind abyssmal video quality, compression artifacts, shitty tracking, shitty controllers and about 0.5-1 second lag on everything then sure, it is possible.

don't do it, that's the best way to ruin first impression of VR, you'll just become another faggot spewing memes about VR being bad while actual VR is great - they just haven't experienced it

op get a vive, oculus, the new hp one, or nothing at all
don't
cheap
out
on
vr

Considering I already used it for porn my impressions are pretty solid, I don't get sick while using the headset, even while watching lower quality "full dive" videos where people jump off of cliffs.

I'm actually incredibly poor so if I can get it to work for something like VR chat, I'd be perfectly fine with that.

This is literally my first time posting it but okay goy shekelstein.

There's an app called Kinoni VR that does exactly that, its sickeningly choppy though and messed up my controller drivers somehow. Just get a Vive like I did after, its leagues better.

There is Vridge but it's shitty

>poorfag Sup Forumsack

Aight fuck you then. Enjoy your jerrybuilt View-Master.

You can with VRidge
It's not perfect, but it works.

sell your stupid consoles

>Considering I already used it for porn my impressions are pretty solid, I don't get sick while using the headset, even while watching lower quality "full dive" videos where people jump off of cliffs.
that still leaves the whole
>shitty tracking
>shitty controllers
>about 0.5-1 second lag on everything

out of which the last one is probably the most gamebreaking... literally...
seriously, don't cheap out on VR for games
If you really must, try Trinus VR I used it to play PC games on PSVR before I got Vive or riftcat (but I heard it's quite shitty)

All I have is a Wii that I used to play "new" super mario and skyward sword which I think is pretty alright.
I saved up cash to get a desktop over the course of too long.

>I'm extremely poor so I'm trying to waste money on unusable hardware I'll only use once because of how bad it is for ONE GAME
nobody's poor for no reason, sport.

>trying to waste money on unusable hardware
But I got it as a present?

Look up trinus vr, OP.

yes, use Moonlight to stream and a gyro mouse duct taped to the headset and a controller for everything else

You won't have 1:1 movement but it works well for left/right and up/down movements.

I played a few levels of nuDoom like this, its great

I'm installing it now, thanks anons!

I don't get the hype for VR, I tried those cheap phone goggles but I didn't feel immersed. Is the Vive a different experience?

There's a few different ways, but if there's too much latency you can use a USB Ethernet adapter to use a wired connection of you must.

yes

Don't. I've tried it and it's fucking shit. Get a real VR HMD with actual tracking.

google
phone vr on pc

Phone VR only tracks your head's rotation. Actual VR HMDs track both your head's rotation and position at sub-millimeter accuracy.

>I got one of those shitty 15$ VR headsets
I did too. It's surprisingly fun to fuck around with but mine didn't come with a controller.

Multiple apps on the play store does this

Any news about next gen VR?
I just want to buy old gen cheaper.

>It's surprisingly fun to fuck around with
Yeah, based off of the 15 minutes I did with the Trinus VR app, it wasn't too bad. Obviously it's nothing compared to the HTC Vive or Oculus or whatever else is out there, but I had fun. I stopped because Trinus VR has a 15 minute time limit per day, so I'm finding other things to use. I pretended to track with the headset using my mouse, and I enjoyed it for what it was.

>I pretended to track with the headset using my mouse
user...

There's vague rumblings about new patents from big players but so far the closest to "next gen" is the forthcoming Knuckle controller and impossible promises from Chinese companies like Pimax and their "4K" (actually 2x 1440(actually upscaled from standard(and it only renders one eye at a time))) HMD

I figured it'd be a better way to play the game than just moving the mouse and not moving my head. It feels a bit more immersive that way. It's like when people move their arms, holding a controller, and driving a car in a racing game. Was/am I the only one that does that?

It makes it feel more interactive so an experience like this for me is actually pretty magical. Fun is what you make of things, so I'm glad to have something like this that works even a little bit.

Yes.
riftcat.com/vridge

But VR without positional tracking is SHIT. So you'll need nolovr.com/.

(Better buy Vive, Rift or WMR)

>chinese companies
fuck that, I am afraid of dead pixels

They're all made in the same two factories, gewilo

Yes but reclamation of current VR is problematic.
Reclamation of chinese one will probably be impossible.

I'll look into the nolovr when I have enough cash to do so, though if I get to that point, the other VR headsets might drop in price by then. I do appreciate the info though! I'll be keeping it in mind.

>reclamation

... what does filling in marshes and bogs for agriculture have to do with anything?

Why do VR games use teleportation for movement?
Is it because you would get dizzy using a key for walking or is it the problem with the controllers?

>reclamation
the process of claiming something back or of reasserting a right.

Not every game uses teleportation. Some even offer several options for locomotion including regular old push forward to move forward like in non-VR games.

But yes, teleport locomotion is the simplest and the most broadly accessible. Some people get VR sickness from traditional locomotion even with mitigation elements like tunnel vision and static UI/cockpit structure to give the illusion of sitting still even while moving and nothing will ever change that for them.
Thankfully they seem to be a minority though and devs are getting bolder with their locomotion options.

VRchat runs like shit in VR if you don't have at least an intel 6500+ cpu
Even then it runs pretty bad, so if you're too poor for a proper vr headset, your computer probably won't be able to play vrc.

It kinda played, at 15 fps, but I've played tera at 5 FPS before during raid content and made it through.

It's not bad once you get used to it.

VRchat runs well on anything running a 1060 and vega

I use a ryzen 5 1600 with a 1070 and get upwards to 90 fps easily it also depends on what world you are in

>riftcat.com/vridge
I actually couldn't get my steam games to work through this, but I tried one of the riftcat games "Null of Hope" and for what it was worth, it was pretty fun actually. Thanks for recommending this one anons.

It actually hurt my eyes less than Trinus VR
