Can MvCI still be saved?
Pros are abandoning it for DBZF, the major tournament Battle for the Stones was a complete shitfest, and it's bombing in sales.
I'm worried it's going to become the next Darkstalkers.

its dead jim.
>Pros are abandoning it for DBZF
Not a single Marvel player worth his salt has said they're dropping marvel for DBZ. At most, they've said they'll put time into both games.
The whole problem was the bad advertisement and Marvel. Roster of about 30 characters in which most of the new ones are paid DLC. Not to mention Marvel trying to rise the popularity of Universe already popular and putting shit that no one asked for such as Black Widow instead of characters that fans have been asking for decades.
This game is a huge flop, and i'm pissed about it
no the game is dead , migrate to sf v , dbz or tekken
>Pros are abandoning it for DBZF
Proof?
who?
If they don't say anything by January, its done.
Add rouge from Power Stone.
I wish we got this Gamora in the movies instead of what we got.
it needed an extra year of devtime
the entire presentation is lackluster
the roster is unimpressive and lacks many veterans
no, it was a low effort cash grab meant to rip off their fans. the games existence is a disrespect, has no fanservice, no attention to detail or comics, nothing. put it in the dumpster and try again
I want to believe but i need more proof than just your word and thread bandwagoning user
Btw, MvCI Deluxe is at gamestop for $40
They basically repeated SF5 twice and tried to get away with it.
True but pros like Chris G and FChamp have said they're no longer going to focus on the game in 2018.
Chris G in particular also said that although MvC series isn't dead, it's a different story for MvCI.
It's not looking good.
>They basically repeated SF5 twice and tried to get away with it.
I would say they fucked up and nailed the exact opposite things as they did with SFV
>decently sized roster (30 characters) at launch
>pretty good balance (especially for a marvel)
>satisfying and fresh gameplay in the series
>best online out of any current fighting game
>story mode and arcade mode included at launch
But
>lot of reused assets
>weak presentation at most visuals and sound
Why the fuck did it fail Bros? I thought everyone was going to buy it
I more or less ment "low effort cashgrab" with that.
But yeah we could argue they failed on different ends with both games.
That they heavily tried to cut cost is common to both though.
We'll see.
Ultimate MvCI with all the X-Men and other characters Disney now have the rights to may inject a bit of life into it, but at the moment I can't see it regaining peoples interest.
I'm looking forward to playing a few of the characters, not until there is an ultimate edition though, and not until that is on sale.
I wouldn't say that they "tried to cut cost" with SFV or that it's a "low effort cashgrab"
it was just launched too soon. It still got /is getting it's base content down the line for free. Actually by the time AE launches it will be the biggest base Street Fighter even if you bought the game on launch and never paid an extra penny.
mvci on the other hand clearly didn't have a big budget, and they didn't even announced any updates /fixes for the game down the line
Thank god SFV was able to recover though.
Arcade Edition is going to breathe new life into the game
The roster is whack. The stones are whack. The 2v2 is whack. The art-style is whack. The graphics are whack. Also everything from music to the sound effects of the game is absolutely disgusting.
>shit graphics
>no artstyle
>bland soundtrack
>no arcade endings
>unlockable costumes are shit
>paid costumes are shit
>weak Marvel roster even without the X-men its just fucking shit
>Capcom roster is 90% MvC3
>shit ''story mode'' that feels like its written by kindergartners
>no tournement mode
>no 3v3 mode
>no Assists
>no 2 vs 2 players
>no groovy character themes
>no oddball character choices
>launched unbalanced
>ignored fan complaints
>outright insulted fans (functions vs functions infinite)
Capcom went out of their way to make this fail, i refuse to believe this was accidental, they probably had a beef with Marvel or something
...
>release a shoddy cashgrab where 90% of the roster are reused assets from 3
>graphics somehow worse than the previous entry
>tack on an embarrassing story mode
>"but the gameplay is good!" is actually false, first player to do a special/super with long blockstun into tag mixup wins
>WTF WHY IS NO ONE BUYING IT FUCKING REDDIT
it's beyond saving
I don't understand the younger generation's obsession with needing everything to be #1, have a million twitch views or it's dead.
Anime games still get 100+ entrants at big tournaments while the online is nearly completely dead and you can only get games through discord/lobbies. The fans are always going to stick around and play, just as they have before SF4 released during the so called "fighting game ages".
Also some of the pros like ChrisG and FChamp have only said they will focus on SFV, which is where the money is and that they will treat Marvel and DBZF as side games. Not sure why Sup Forums wants to shill for DBZF so much to the point of outright making up lies.
>bought the season pass
>so let down with the game I haven’t even touched the second batch of characters
Buyers remorse 2017 right here.
*dark ages
>Champ: Will still play Marvel but focusing on SFV, and *some* DB.
>Sup Forums: HE'S COMPLETELY ABANDONING IT FOR DB
>Will still play Marvel
>MVCi but as my side game
>The biggest MvCi shill, who was even allowed to fix the bracket and have early access to dlc has it as a side game
give up
>have a million twitch views or it's dead.
bout that
>I don't understand the younger generation's obsession with needing everything to be #1, have a million twitch views or it's dead
The companies themselves obsess over that.
...
half of the points are alright but
>no 3v3 mode
>no Assists
the mechanics are different you know? that's not really a legit complaint
>launched unbalanced
it's BY FAR the most balanced marvel, they literally only had to nerf 1 stone, 1 character and remove 1 infinite combo, something they did pretty soon after launch. Now the game is even more balanced than SFV which is ridiculous
>ignored fan complaints
they fixed the models tho except for cap's neck, as for the complaints for "everything wrong with the game" that's another thing
>no groovy character themes
>no oddball character choices
you already complained about 'bland soundtrack' and weak roster
as for the story mode, it's something everyone would have fucking loved if it was launched with MvC3 with it's cheesyness, but with the unpleasant atmosphere surrounding MvCI people just don't get jokes anymore and will just spam how cringe it is, even though the humor is exactly in the mvc3 endings' style.
>Says the guy who rephrased his comment
>Can't even respond to the points
Maybe the assets will be reused for a 3rd time and make a good game
marvel always jumps to a few hundred whenever one of the big players are online. Otherwise fighting games have no viewers other than the 2-3 biggest and newest ones.
>claims someone is abandoning marvel for db
>turns out he says he's focusing on street fighter
look dawg, we all dislike certain games, but you're twisting someone's words to shill for dbzf when he literally said his main focus will be sfv.
why? what do you gain from this?
There's no obsession with number 1. The games fucking dead i cant find a ducking match. I just sit in training every ducking day for 3 hours waiting for a match and nothing
dont play on pc bro
FYI he is saying this because year 1, the DB player pool will be shit so people who mastered other fighting games can sneak in a large pot win before actual experts start cropping up. Do people not remember that Justin Wong was a "top" Injustice player the first year it came out?
>implying he'd win anything
FChamp has never been someone who dominated in any fighting game. Even in UMVC3 he was constantly challenged.
