It kind of makes sense as a restriction, because it can be distracting and might make people mistake you for a police officer. In my state, you aren't allowed to have red or blue neons, and they can't flash or change color too quickly.

Is there a mod for Most Wanted to remove the god awful brown n bloom shit filter? UG1 and 2 have beautiful color palette, and then MW is this brown n bloom trash.

Read my post again with reading comprehension, I'm talking about the fucking shit colored tonemapping the game has, bloom is the least of the problems.
Literally all games released between 2006-2009 with very few exceptions suffer from having the shit colored tonemapping.

Well, you are speaking of the Brown bloom era of video gaming. So try extracting the game textures from the compressed archives and then edit them accordingly.
Or set up ReShade. It shouldn't affect FPS too much if you only want different colors.

You're talking about "Visual Treatment" but it has only two options.
Low and High.
Problem is that it's a collection of settings, and color filter is only one of them.
Setting it to Low also drastically reduces lighting quality, shadow resolution, turns off the high speed effects and other shit, so that's not what I need.
I just wish I could separate the color bullshit of "Visual Treatment" into its own separate setting and turn off ONLY that.

NFSU2 could have been a flawless game if there was no rubber banding. There has never and will never be a video game where rubber banding adds anything.

What's rubber banding?
Is it the effect in arcade games where you can bump into other cars and essentially "bounce" off of them without losing much speed and use them as convenient cushions for tight turns?

Rubberbanding is when the AI racer slows down and waits for you to catch up before resuming. It means you can never truly be outlapped by a significant percentage.

I believe it also has something to do with the scaling in Most Wanted, where you can do the entire game without upgrading cars because the speed of the police is basically your own max speed minus 5 or so.

Rubber banding is a mechanic where AI get to catch up to you no matter how far away you are, basically punishing you for racing well.
I've seen the AI in NFSU2 go through hairpins at what looks to be ~150km, making up 1 second of time.
The other thing that annoys be about NFSU2 is how traffic is often in the way of the perfect racing line, so you literally have to race worse to not eat shit.
