If the Game Grumps can get over two million subscribers, perhaps efficient playing isn't the most important part of LPing.
Reminder that if you leave Taris without defeating Bendak Starkiller you're a bitch
>20 MINUTES OF MENUS
kotor 2 was better
theres a mod to skip Taris completely with all the experience and either light/darkside points
As someone who loves KOTOR how are they ruining the game with their playthrough? I'm worried i'll get mad if I watch
oh and items
Oney Plays > Leafs
Woolie is an RPG virgin and doesnt understand any of the mechanics, Pat also doesnt but thinks he does
agreed, but only with RCM
desu i've grown to appreciate taris more over the years
So you just skipped 20% of the game
why not just skip to the star forge while youre at it
lolno
Lol Sup Forums underage isn't used to 150 hour single player games.
Yes Sup Forums you missed the golden age.
outside of the sewers, taris is pretty comfy
I'm just saying man, shit exists, not like I use it, but its there
Dantooine is worse than Taris
Imagine what a headache Taris would be if it was in Kotor2 and you had to lug Kreia around.
You'd offer to buy those upper-city drunks another round and she'd give you a lecture. I bet she'd even bitch you out no matter what you did with the Rakghoul serum.
I'd skip it too if i could
Yeah, nothing better than a linear as fuck tutorial planet with your mom shittalking in your ear.
>the "murder mystery"
>the romeo and juliet thing
>have to run across 4 screens of barren fields to get anywhere
Yeah it kind of sucked, but at that point you're just happy to finally become a jedi.
I think its more for people who have played the game so many times that they find taris tedious. Not my cup of tea either though I enjoy it
loud noises haha!
But imagine the conversation after you escape the planet and it turns out nothing you did matters because it all gets bombed to shit.
No need to state the obvious
It's a long time on subsequent playthroughs but the first time when you're trying to see everything, do everything, and don't already know exactly what you're going to be doing next it's not an unreasonable time for taris.
What is it with bioware having THE shittiest first areas in all of gaming?
>Taris
>The Citadel
>Ostagar
>Two Rivers
Is it possible for them to ever make a half decent starting area?
>become a jedi
>have to fight trash wherever you go
I'm okay with fighting mandalorians, bounty hunter, rancors and shit but fuck kath hound, sandnigger and other sitty animals
>Lol Sup Forums underage isn't used to 150 hour single player games.
That was never the case, though. I remember people rolling their eyes with some exceedingly long JRPGs like DQ7. I don't mind long games, what I mind is when they're clearly padded out.
in my first playthrough I murdered the katbitch and never realised she was a potential companion lel
Good point. I try to block that out of my mind when replaying Taris.
>It doesn't matter if you help this person, the planet is gonna get glassed
I think the problem is the lack of freedom compared to the rest of the game coupled with the low amount of relative skills due to the lower level.
A character like Kreia would be too much if she were in multiple games. On the other hand it's the conversations had with her in Kotor 2 that made that game a favorite of mine. Very grey area-ish philosophically. Kinda reminds me of the new Star Wars film actually in that regard.
Kotor is like 30/35 hours if you take your time
Kek me too
I tried to convince her to come back with me and ask the Jedi for forgiveness but she kept being stubborn and saying there was no way, so I said fine and killed her
then it turns out she didn't even kill her master, barely wounded them in fact, and it was all just a test
>And this is all the Jedi's fault. Their very existence doomed all these people. It has nothing to do with the goddamn Sith
Basically, starting sections are generally always designed first. This is less of an excuse for Bioware considering they're making the same game over and over again but more applicable to, for example, Wasteland 2 where second half of the game is much better and you can tell devs got the hang of what they were creating.
>*the force's fault
This. Also reminder that you can get two of his pistols by beating Twitch in the arena, then immediately talking to Bendak rather than the Hutt for your reward. Beat Bendak, then talk to the Hutt for your reward. Talk to him again and he will give you the same reward, as if you had killed Bendak twice.
>Woolie can't read
>Pat can read but fails to process the information
Great idea for a playthrough guys. Also doing every possible thing to piss Carth of only to turn around and say "fuck Carth, huh" is kinda retarded.
fuck the intros to these games
just give me my lightsaber already
Seriously, this is the biggest fedora circlejerk in history
>open the boxes
>get the loot
>get the door open
>find the panel to get the door open
>talk to this guy
>talk to this guy
>listen to how they got trapped there
>open the door
I'd rather listen to Jar Jar for 10 hours than play this shit
>using a lightsaber in KOTOR2
>spend loads of time on a petty gang war to save bastilla
>she saves herself anyway
*cue kreia lecture*
Glassing the planet is so silly.
>Sir we know Bastila is on the planet, we will have her soon
>"No this is taking too long, glass the entire fucking planet including our men still on the surface"
>Lord Malak that is a really stupid idea
>"DONT QUESTION MY ORDERS"
I'd like to hear the conversation that Captain had with his men. "Apparently we're commiting genocide, man your stations"
>le blaster meme build
Ruining if someone not playing the game perfectly is upsetting. Woolie's making first time mistakes since he's never played kotor or a D&D style rpg, meanwhile Pat's in that position where he may have known everything about the game at one time but it's been so long that he's getting some things wrong and not realizing it.
That's nothing. Defeating Bendak AND not leveling at all aside from the mandatory tutorial one is what separates men from boys. Literally the only time in the entire game I used shields, boosters and grenades.
>See? You told those children not to make fun of the Ithorian and now they are dead. Being nice meant nothing in the end.
So I should have just ignored someone asking me for help?
>That bitch couldn't deal with a few little kids, he deserved the racism.
I don't agree, Kreia.
Influence Lost: Kreia
Wait until you get to KOTOR2
Oh fuck I never knew that, thanks user
I also just recently found out that you can use a free medpac every turn if you use it directly from the item menu, doesn't take up a player action
Nah, you need to build up to that shit.
Literally impossible unless you just run around in circles while shooting/manipulating the combat system.
>dumb
Kotor 2 rng fucked with me so much
>Be a Guardian on Peragus
>Dual wielding saber build
>Keep getting blasters
>Sith Battle Suit on the Federation ship
>Another character later on Peragus
>Be a blaster build
>Keep getting melee weapons
>Make it to HK-50 with shitty Mining Lasers
immersion ruined
Why didn't Revan just lightspeed ram the Star Forge with the Ebon Hawk?
Did Kyle just sit there for 10 minutes to make that logo on the wall?
that sounds like something only a well-built soldiers with all the extra shit could pull off
>See? You told those children not to make fun of the Ithorian and now they are dead. Being nice meant nothing in the end.
So I should have just ignored someone asking me for help?
>That bitch couldn't deal with a few little kids, he deserved the racism.
I'll think about it Kreia

Bravo obsidian
This took place before admiral holdo discovered this tactic, 10,000 years later.
Maybe he was afraid Bastilla would escape?
Bitch is a powerful Jedi with battle meditation. Every second she's not dead is a risk.
I believe they fixed the menu item-use bug in KOTOR 2, but at least in the first game it is indeed a massive boon at times. You can still only use one medpac per round, but a big health injection every six rounds isa big deal particularly when you tend to end up with tons of standard medpacs.
>sith are meant to be ego driven individualists
>jedi are meant to detach from their ego
>most sith all have the same color lightsaber while jedi have every color under the sun
What did the star wars franchise mean by this?
>get battle meditation in 2
>20 second buff
Yeah, they fixed in in Kotor 2 but thankfully you don't need it as much there. I really only used that trick during the Malak fight.
since when does the fucking dark lord of the sith give a shit about his own men? why would he give a fuck about blowing up a planet to take out 1 very important powerful jedi?
Thing is her Battle Mediation is a very specific trick that kinda means you can at least make an educated guess where she would be aka in the thick of things so she can inspire troops.
sith fell for the "red is powerful" meme
Turns out nothing in Star Wars makes any sense after about 3 seconds of thought.
>First play through pick soldier
>Whup his ass in 5 seconds with duel wielding
>Second playthrough pick scout
>Spend the whole match placing gas mines and avoiding being two shot
Not really if you look at the big picture, the longer Bastila remained uncaptured the greater the chance she could somehow escape through some lucky force shenanigans. If she gets free she could be the deciding factor in some major battle. What Malek was doing was giving up the chance to capture her for his own use rather than let the republic regain an advantage, Taris didn't matter.
Well, at that point in the game it seems like he's wasting resources on the most blunt solution.
Once you realize he has the star forge to replace any losses, it makes a lot more sense.
Sith use artificial crystals almost exclusively.
To be fair you really don't have to understand anything about rpgs to beat KOTOR
Shits easy.
When I picked Scout I ended up beating him with adhesive grenades and a Sith sniper rifle. It was close.
>Strength is just damage while Dex is chance to hit
How can someone thinking he's so right be so wrong
It's still a d20 game so you need to at least grasp how it works at some point seeing as you can't really wing it with just "bigger numbers are better" mentality unless you play on easy, I guess.
>Bad guy in original movies uses a red saber, therefore all bad guys use red saber
I hate that you can't call this shit out because people will say you just cribbed it from RLM
Yo forgot to add *if playing soldier*, scouts and scoundrels should grab several levels on taris
If you don't at least have a basic understanding of the d20 system you might completely fuck your build though.
Things like DEX increasing defense
The Sith realize that power is everything, and having a tie-dye psychedelic technicolor dreamsaber in no way increases it.
Realistically though, it's sort of the same thing as how old western movies always have the good guy in a white/brown hat and the bad guy in a black hat. It's just a way for audiences to immediately know who the good guy is supposed to be, particularly in silent films.
Sith are dumb
I brute forced it all the way to Malak when I was like 9 with no knowledge of D20 systems and just mashed Power Attack the whole game
But it turns out he was totally right.
I have no idea what you are talking about and have beat it several times, not once on easy
Did he kill Bastila?
Tbh the playthrough is trash, Bully is the only decent thing going
You've beaten the game several times and never learned how the d20 system works, even intuitively? You should have picked it up by now.
His men would have never found Bastila.
How do you beat him? I just beaten him but I use Jedi At the Start and Feat Progression Mods and had to level to 9. How do you beat him as a non-Jedi
>2 minutes of audio desync
>intuitively understanding d20
Then again, I guess kids were smarter back then considering what we played compared to kids today. I'm telling you the struggle was real.
>audio desync blocks ur path
I enjoy Pat liking it and Matt being his usual whiny self. Yes, fat pieces of shit like chocolate, Matt. That's how they got fat, not glands.
