it was fun at first then you had to grind for 5ever
I guess you could say they let it die huh
should have been more popular
I know it's gonna sound like a shitpost but this seems to happen to all ps4 exclusives. I can't even remember what was being shilled in 2016 or earlier apart from bloodborne.
I know this was originally Lily Bergamo, but was it just a reskin away from anime style, or did it evolve into a f2p grindfest during development?
I like the gameplay and I would've liked it as a closed end single player game.
Odyssey
People stopped talking about this 1-2 months after release
Halo Wars 2
Super Mario Run
It was this big thing and then it suddenly disappeared
It's almost like everyone just let it die
It's a f2p grindfest, but at least it's not p2w
nice filename.
here's your reply.
1-2 weeks*
The scrapped the entire idea and decided that a F2P grindfest was going to be a great idea.
From reading interviews it seems like it evolved into a grindfest, but the devs didn't have much faith in Lily Bergamo anyway it seems, so it might've been shit if it hadn't changed.
Lily Bergamo looked worse than this
The only game that blundered this hard was DNF.
Suda literally created this shit just to fund NMH3. It's sad because the game had a lot of potential yet decided to completely ruin it behind the revive system and the invader NPCs not scaling with your character level.
However it's still relevant in Japan, I think they are planning to release T-Shirts with the decal designs on them along with some other goodies.
Fuck off, Carlos.
I wished
...
Isn't code vein kinda like what lily bergamo could have been? But I can see that game being pretty forgetful too. It just looks so bland
To be fair there's not a lot of room to talk when it comes to golf games
Has there ever been a game in development hell that lived up to its hype when it finally came out?
I liked it, though.
Nioh?
there's nothing to talk about concerning Skyrim either yet people post their characters all the time
I made it to the top of the tower when it first came out, and at the time was it was kind of grindy but if you played your cards right and were prepared you wouldn't experience much loss. But recently they've really kicked the f2p aspect into overdrive. Less rewards from raids, less raids in general, over-saturating the decal drop table to make the important ones almost impossible to obtain, adding in lesser versions of required mushrooms that drain your health and provide less of a bonus. I can't imagine trying to climb the tower in the state it's in now. It's a shame too, because everything else about the game is fuckin' great. The characters, the art, the music. It's just been pulled too deep into f2p territory.

It does look kinda shit but I'm still pretty interested to see how it turns out.
The current WoT promotion, the anniversary quests and shop days made it really fucking easy now though. You can have a 5* Kamas before Crowley which will make the rest of the game easy mode. I would know because it's how I made to the top last week and not spending a single dime.
Game is... ok
Soundtrack is easily one of the best, if not THE best.
What went wrong?
Is it out?
Procedurally generated. I was actually hyped for it until I learned of that.
Breath of the Wild
Team Fortress 2
I'll have to take another look then, it's been a couple months since I last checked up on the game. Are the iron and cleaver saber still OP?
The jews at Gearbox took what should have been a $20-$40 'not bad for an indie' game on steam repackaged it in a $60 AAA model with preorder bonuses, collector's editions, season passes, etc. and nobody was interested any more.
I feel like PS+ killed this game. Biggest reason I didn't get it at least
Games released in january always get forgotten.
Even re7 (for the goty talks atleast) but most of all pic related.
Oh, it was intentional OP. Just not a good game.
Misleading gameplay at e3.
I didn't buy it out of spite at that point
Forgot this existed
For Honor
Steep
Really no idea. I haven't played since January and just recently got into it again. Never used the cleaver saber but the iron still shreds armor and people.
wow, that one totally slipped my mind.
this fucking game gets mentioned in every thread.
Gearbox
Most AAA releases once marketing got reassigned to hyping the next release.
This one didnt have a chance considering this year's lineup
That recent South Park game.
There was loads of threads every day for months and then literally nothing just days after release.
my favorite game this year
closest thing we'll have to a new system shock other than that shitty looking remake
All they had to was fix the multiplayer.
GOTY
Still couldn't do that right
Did they fix anything? I'm assuming not considering I've heard nothing about it since the beta.
yeah it sucks that they locked all the single player and local multiplayer content behind Plus
and it's pretty ok too
they're just now reworking stuff and adding dedicated servers
Did they ever fix the terrible base invasions?
...
...
No real-time multiplayer and now the game is dead. This Clash of Clans style mp should stay in Mobile.
...
You have no fucking idea what development hell means
...
Please explain
>came out the same day as mario + rabbids
It was destined to fail.
Ubisoft are the Masters of flavor of the month games. All style, no substance and a lot of marketing. Sad that It works every single time.
Does it count if no one ever even knew about it?
It's because the grinding got ridiculous later on. Plus once you get stuck in tier 5 or 6 raiding and defending is basically an impossible feat unless you spend hundreds of hours grinding upgrades for armor and weapons and also grinding events for ridiculously overpowered items.
System shock 3 was announced though
Will buy and play when the complete edition is under $20. Too much social justice pandering for a full priced game.
I unironically want to play this still, even though I know it can't be as good as 1 was.
Wurf.
...
>Fight 'v Rage
What did they mean by this?
>has a pretty good opening scene to hook you
>the rest of the game looks like "open" world scavenging garbage
i remember reading a review mentioning Firaxis doubled down on the cheating boss-fights which completely disregard how the rest of the game plays, and xcom players were already all pissy about the uber-boss shit they introduced in that DLC. XCOM grognards would prefer a muv-luv scenario of being overrun by a suddenly unpossible swarm of betas rather than being suddenly overrun by Selvaria appearing and wrecking your asshole because she's a super saiyan.
>went into this expecting bioshock/dishonored in space
>got system shock with alien ghost spooks instead
i have been pleasantly surprised with this game, although I wish there was more in the way of humanoid enemies that aren't just mind controlled bombs that you should save instead of kill
So far all we have is the announcement. I think it will be vaporware. Anyway I don't trust Warren Spector at all.
>prey aka system shock 3 comes out
>people don't give a shit
why though, isnt that something people wished for I don't get it
It's obviously Fight Rage 'V
dumbass
Not great anyway.
Replayed through the Pikmin trilogy in anticipation of it, so that was fun.
Sup Forums never shuts up about it, at least
Super Mario Sunshine
Half-Life 2
It's shit, worse than peper mario wii u, I would have been mad as fuck if it did well.
Oh yeah. I saw the announcement trailer and completely disregarded it. It didn't even make it onto the backlog list, not even as a low priority one day sort of deal.
That game made for a comfy August, but it didn't really have much staying power (personally anyway) beyond that.
TF2 was in development hell you moron
You don't know about team fortress 2 development
Zero marketing also Dishonored 2's technical issues left a bad taste in people's mouths.
first post late by 1 whole minute
second post got first tho.
Every time I see this I just think of youtu.be
Mother 3
a game that seemed like a nice bioshock game, but then went the surival crafting open world Early acess route, then gearbox picked it up and now its a $60 game
Open world procedural generated survival shit with a misleading e3 trailer
Lily Bergamo was literally nothing beyond that teaser, it's safe to say that they basically scrapped it and made something new
Man, this game was a contender, why did it have to shit the bed. Deep Down was suppose to be the same sort of thing, maybe its best that they decided to rework it as a retail game instead of F2P.
I didn't even know it was a System Shock-esque game until I saw people talking about it on here.
I liked it. Was it worth the wait and development time? Nope, but it was enjoyable
Jesus christ has there been a SINGLE memorable game the last two years that won't be negatively remembered? Inb4 botw yeah whatever but the only games to actively come to mind is Overwatch and Battleborn, both being pretty shit but still memorable for each their reasons. Reminds me of 2012 when the only memorable game for me was sleeping dogs.
