What order am I meant to play these games in if I've never played any before, or does the order not matter, and is there a game I shouldn't play first?

you don't

haha good one

V3>2>1
Your welcome

Just go by release order ya sperg

The chronology of playing the DR games is complex.

>First game->second game (the game with 2 in its title)->third game (the game with V3 in its title)

as in order or how good they are

I don't know about cyber danganronpa or the battle one.

Here is the order: Danganronpa 1, Danganronpa 2, Danganronpa Ultra Despair Girls, then watch the anime (skip to the last season) to go through the third killing game (all games have anime that you can watch, but the final killing game is an anime with no game) then play Dnganronpa V3 (it's a spinoff).

1, 2, despair girls, Dr 3 anime, V3.

Whatever you do, fucking please stop after you finish 2. There's only suffering ahead.

Both

Play 1 then 2 then V3 of course. Why consider playing them in any other order?
As for the optional spinoffs, only play ultra despair girls after playing 2. Don't know about any mobile games. Don't watch the 3 anime.

>No substance weebshit VNs with no gameplay
Not games. And no, before you say anything, whyfoo faggotry isn't gameplay.

I was considering playing v3 first because I already own it and not the others

Point and click adventure games are a treasured genre that has been around longer than you've been alive, sit down.

Clicking on tits isn't gameplay, no matter how much you think otherwise.

V3 is objectively the best game though. UDG and the anime can (should) be skipped though, unless you are so desperate for more that you're willing to eat shit.

not an argument

>He says, incapable of refuting the fact that his weebtrash has no gameplay

You're right, the VN sections aren't gameplay. But you know what is? The gameplay, in the trials.

V3 doesn't have any heavy connections to the previous games but if you don't play them in order then you'll likely find the first game to be shittier than it is.

The answer is never not release order

Play in release order but skip the Cyber Game and V3.

Cyber Game is just VR crap
V3 makes the rest of the series turn out to be nothing but reality TV shows.

Only Mukuro's order

1 first since it's the least ridiculous one (not saying much. Then, if the ridiculousness of that game appeals to you, play 2 and V3.

1->2->V3 in that order is all you need to play to understand the story, and they're also by far the most worthwhile entries in the series.

If you really want more then play Ultra Despair Girls and then watch the The End of Hope's Peak anime in between 2 and V3.
