I wasn't really impressed, the gameplay is unique but it's easy to figure out and the random battles get dull. I didn't think the writing was particularly impressive, either.

It's a masterpiece. It's not worth the hundreds of dollars, but that's because I don't think any game is. I still play this every couple of years, the world building, the story, music, gameplay, it's all top stuff. Love the Moebius inspired art design.

I watched a friend play it on a real saturn. I didn't see the fuss at the time, as I played FF7 and Star ocean 2 and the like. Best saturn game is Radiant silvergun.

A bit over hyped. After acquiring a powerful pistol and leveling up a bit, I used the same attacks. Game grinds to a halt when you reach underground.

Do you know how to solder and have basic repair skills? Look at getting a Rhea chip. Play saturn games off SD cards.

I tried collecting for the Saturn earlier this year but the games are so unapproachable price wise, and there are so few good games for it (all of which are ludicrously expensive), I just sold my Saturn and the all the games I had for it for a profit on eBay only after a few months of ownership.

desu I don't know how anyone can say it holds up today. The music is probably the only thing that still holds up.

- awful graphics (even for its time, resident evil 1 looks better than final fantasy vii)
- outdated gameplay

The remake is sorely needed. Newbies getting into games and playing Final Fantasy VII for the first time are probably disgusted by how bad it is in comparison to modern games. VI, VIII, and IX have all aged more gracefully than VII has.

I played FFVII for the first time a week ago on Steam, which seems to have been a good idea as it smooths out all the polygons, and I don't have to use the terrible Dualshock D-pad to play it with either

Go take a look at the overworld in this game. It's fucking empty, probably done this way so they could render the towns. The towns were cool but full of screen tearing and polygons jumping everywhere

It's been a while but I think Azel used her DNA along with Edge's to make her. And then left behind a message telling her about she exists before she died.

For the 360 you just need to have a functional disc, but there's no digital store anymore (they never had PDO there anyway)

For the X1 look into 2018
