fuck no. unless you have a 4k tv with hdr its not worth it at all.

Worth it for some games. Dark Souls 3 ran a lot smoother.

The original PS4 is a fucking joke compared to the both the Slim and Pro, getting rid of mine and getting a Pro was the best move I've made this gen

buy an xbox one x instead. It has real 4k and better games.

If only more games would target 1440 instead of 4k, then maybe I'd consider it. I can actually only think of one off the top of my head that outputs 1440 instead of rendering at 1440 and outputting to 4k.

Yes. I have a 4K HDR TV, but I find 4K to be unnoticeable for the most part. More stable frame rates in games like BB is where I get real value.

If you don't have much expendable income, stick with your original. Being able to afford games is more important.

>real 4K
M$ should be castrated for their lies. Not even PC has reached the point of being a pure 4K machine. Sure we reached the point where it does a good job, but it still isn't 100% there. Yet we should call some weak console a "true" 4K machine?

what if I'm trying to into sonybroism? not a whole lot of expendable income and by that i mean none, but got some cash.

I mainly want one for Monster Hunter World. I don't have a high end PC and I can't afford one atm so this seems like an okay(?) alternative?

MH:W, Dynasty Warriors 9 and other upcoming games will only have 60fps mode on PS4 Pro
I bought one last week. it's worth it

If you don't have money to throw around (and you don't), then you should not waste your money upgrading from PS4 to PS4 Pro.

What the actual fuck are you talking about? 3840 x 2160 is a 4k resolution. What do you think 4k is?

There are a lot of PS3 remasters and indies running at native 4K on PS4Pro too.. even on Xbox One S

Absolutely not worth it.

Someone go upset by the 1x lol

my little cousin did and i tested some games on it (christmas gift but his parents bought it in september so i had it a good 3 months since they told me to keep all his toys at my house), some games run better like rise of the tomb raider (solid 30fps on best quality setting) and nier automata (solid 30fps, no more framedrops or screen tears) but in others i noticed no improvement, the upscaling is pretty good as well but then again my tv upscales like a charm, my ps2 and wii with component cables look pretty good and my 360 and PS3 get upscaled to 1080 well too, it doesn't look blurry as shit and for some reason some games no longer have screen tearing like they did on my old tv (RE5, prototype 2, bayonetta)

i'd say i'd be worth it if it had retrocompatibility, fake 4k and boost mode doesn't justify the extra $150, even the fucking xbone reads 360 games come the fuck on sony

I did. My PS4 was getting really loud, like, jet engine loud, and I checked my warranty and it turned out that my extended warranty had expired like a year before. I decided to trade in my system before it died and said, fuck it, I'll get a Pro, it comes with 1TB HD which is already $100 for a decenet one, anyway. I waited for a trade in bonus deal at gamestop and dropped a few games so I only paid like $100 for the Pro.

Honestly, I prefer the pro because of the loading times but too few games have that many options and I don't really care about frame rates going over 30 unless it's an action heavy game.

I don't regret buying it but I don't really recommend it unless you're really big on frame rates or have 4K. Some games really show the power of the system but most games don't have such a graphics heavy requirements that you NEED a pro to enjoy it.

>nier automata
Nier automata doesn't have 30fps cap, it's 60fps on ps4 pro and 50~60fps on PS4

I upgraded. I don't even play my PS4 anymore.

4k on PC is actually pretty fucking common now. getting 60fps WAS a bit of an issue(mainly due to cost) but newer hardware is easily capable of running any game maxed out at 60 fps

GTX 1080ti can't even run Dishonored 2 1440p60fps

yes well that happens when devs release unoptimised shit

>not a whole lot of expendable income and by that i mean none, but got some cash.
Just remember, the reason you can't see this is absolutely retarded is the reason you're poor, and will always be poor, not because anyone else is holding you back.

Nah, put my foot down. Not upgrading and I'm not paying to play online anymore either.

No, it's not. I have one because I got a deal on it and didn't already have a PS4, but at normal prices just get a regular PS4.

>pay another 400 dollar to play at 1280p in a few games instead of 1080p

hahahaha

Yeah, I did. Traded in my ps4 for 160 dollars, and got a PRO. 4k is a meme and I could give two shits about that, but the upgraded performance is worth it.

>hey guys, pspro is only worthwhile when you have a 4k tv (despite it not having 4k AT ALL)
>WTF FUCKING MICROSOFT UGRGHHH THEYRE LYING OKAY DONT BUY IT THEY SHOULD BE CASTRADED AND MURDERED
