It's 2018. What do you think of this game?

It's not 2018 yet
GOTY
not anymore. goly. game of last year.
It's GOTY 2018 too.
It's going to have the most GOTY awards of all time by March
It's one of the greatest games ever made
Not GotY material, imo, but it's a damn good game.
My dream
Not awful but I was disappointed. Hope the sequel is better.
Still being talked about so obviously it did something right
wait a damn fucking minute
botw released march 3rd..it's january 1st now
has it really BEEN AN ENTIRE FUCKING YEAR ALREADY
Best game of all time my dude (BGOATMD)
Most well-crafted RPG I played in years
I'm having trouble coming to terms with the fact that it's almost a year old.
user, I think you might be shit at math.
It's the only Zelda game since the first one on NES that managed to captivate me
Definitely one of my favorite games to come out this year but nowhere near my personal top 10 of all time
Out of the 3 major open world games of 2017 is not the one I enjoyed the most, but still pretty good.
Not a good Zelda and not even worth getting a Switch for
>my mommy wouldn’t buy me one since it didn’t get a black friday sale
Timeless classic for me. The general exploration and overworld content outside of the dungeons was always what I loved most about Zelda, so having a game focus on all that plus the ability to access any of this content at your own discretion was a dream come true.
I know they said they'd be using BotW's direction for future games, but I have a feeling that they'll at least put really long setpiece dungeons into the next title to appease fans which isn't personally my cup of tea but I'm looking forward to it anyway.
Super Mario Korok Seeds was even worse, don't kid yourself faggot.
It's great, but not perfect.
The clipping is atrocious (don't give link a scarf/cape if you're just going to let it flop through weapons on his back)
Master Mode's trials (Sword and Champion) are pretty BS due to rapid regeneration
The Shrines could have been so much better if they only switched up the aesthetics once in a while
It makes the horrid mistake of acknowledging Hylia instead of quietly burying her along with the rest of the slop that was SS
>It makes the horrid mistake of acknowledging Hylia instead of quietly burying her along with the rest of the slop that was SS
Yeah I didn't get that myself. BotW obviously takes place long after any of the other games so mentioning Hylia when the other titles didn't is kinda weird. I just assumed history forgot about her.
Then again there were Hylia statues everywhere in the game so I guess she was canonically a part of the spoken legends all along. Seems kinda retconnish though.
They also showed that Fi is still alive inside the Master Sword and even communicates to Zelda. Zelda lore in general is pretty weak but BotW's is especially flimsy.
it's free if you have a good PC
Odyssey at least played like previous entries and didn't try to advertise itself as something it wasn't
>Then again there were Hylia statues everywhere in the game
I preferred when the divinities weren't centralized
Wind fish and three goddesses and four giants and Majora's tribe and Twili ancestors and JabuJabu
Not having birds worship the knife-ears goddess
>Fi is still alive inside the Master Sword
What?
God I hope now
t timelet
2018 has good memes already
It's good but not a masterpiece. There's potential there to be a masterpiece for the next game, as most of its major problems are in execution rather than the structure itself (shit enemy variety, short dungeons, no real time eating).
I can only hope they make the right decisions next game. Since they spent a decade doubling down on every problem of the OoT formula until they ran into an evolutionary dead end with Skyward Sword..
No fucking dungeons.
In 34,000,000 years, when aliens discover the digital remnants of humanity, they will create a monument to BotW's lack of dungeons.
is a reality
>one year later
>it's still shit
I feel like the Master Trials were the perfect example of how Test of Strength shrines should have been in the first place. Guardian Scouts are boring enemies and I would've loved to see more overworld enemies in different combinations and some unique arenas in the shrines.
Mediocre
