Why did Black Ops 1 and 2 have such a good story-line compared to all other CoDs? And why don't we get more moments like this in fps games today?

What I liked the most about the first game is the atmosphere, really captures the 60’s feel. It also has the best zombies imo.
It's pretty much the only actual good Vietnam game. Other than BC2's multiplayer expansion I can't think of any other good Nam' games
What did the numbers mean?
FOR BOWMAN
there isn't a single moment of originality in this trash game.
EVERY line of dialogue or set-piece was some kind of homage to action/war movies.
Who gives a fuck about originality. Presentation is more important.
>tfw everyone forgets world at war
feels bad man
also best one of the treyarch trilogy
which will supposedly become a quadrilogy if the rumors are correct
The two Vietcong games are supposedly decent, I've only ever played the multiplayer though.
There's Shellshock as well and BF: Vietnam
>I'm retarded, so everything and everyone should be retarded
The presentation was fucking Michael Bay tier.
That's the whole point of CoD dumbass, it's literally a video-game interpretation of classic movie tropes
I enjoyed mw2 for the spectacle honestly.
Bo2 felt shit compared to Bo1
Wait, so it goes WaW --> BO --> BO2 --> BO3
so isn't it already a quadrilogy?
Black Ops 2 had such fun multi-player. With the exception of the magnums you could mow people down with all pistols.
Oh I didn't forget about it, the Russian campaign has some of the finest moments out of any war game
And not to mention the soundtrack is fucking golden: youtu.be
How underage are you, to think the only good CoD stories are from the black ops series?
black ops isnt even comparable to vietcong games, vietcong is a real vietnam game with booby traps, ambushes and pretty much what you'd expect from a vietnam game.
black ops was just "we have to do some missions in vietnam"
I replayed the cods from 4 onwards about 1 month ago. I played cod 4 in the remastered version and yeah it was pretty fun, a basic story but I enjoyed it. MW2 was enjoyable. They both featured a variety of colours. MW3 did not and it was very obvious imo.
I then did BO1,BO2 and 3. 1 was a fun vietnam game to play, lots of cool set pieces. 2 wasn't that bad actually, first time playing it properly. 3 was such a weird disconnect from 1 and 2. so I'd say it is it's own separate game. At first I thought it was another generic cod but the story in that game is actually really cool with interesting elements to it.Definitely the weirdest of the cods I have played.
I can see why people dislike cod but overall I like them. Fun mindless shooting with a cool Hollywood esk cover to it all. Haven't tried AW or IW.
I never said they were the only good ones, just that they were my favorite. CoD 1, 2, 4, and WaW also have good story-lines but are more focused on the war aspect while Blops had a more personal aspect to it
To think if Infinity Ward didn't get held back by Activision and didn't focus on multiplayer Infinite Warfare's campaign could of truly been something amazing.
I enjoyed Infinite
Especially Ethan
