So someone just gave me dark souls 1 and I am deciding to finally play it.
I have beaten DS2 , bloodborne and ds3 already with at least 1 character a piece.
But I have never once played DS1
What starting class should I choose for either a strength/fai or strength/int build.
Or are those builds not viable for early game and should I keep it simple?

Generally just spoonfeed me because I dont want to use a guide
IT is installing right now so I have some time.

If you could handle DS2, you should have no problem with DS1, it's a lot easier, and the effective lack of "durability" (it exists just much much more extended) means you can pretty much stick to one weapon without ever mastering other types.

Personally I recommend pyromancer because that's what souls games are about and also the best DS1 NPCs are the pyromancy trainers. In DS1 pyromancy is based off nothing but your glove level so you can include it in any build.

Pyromancer is also a good choice for starting class because it starts at SL1 unlike others.

Thanks man I will choose pyrodude

any early game stuff I need to know?
also what the fuck is resistance?

So pyro starts out at sl1?
Why even choose deprived then?

So far the graphics are strange but this looks promising.

Why is backstab not working at all.
What the fuck.

OP are you sure you played all the other games?

Yeah, just never tried a souls game on a 360 before. I play ps3/4 so this is weird.

Anyways asylum demon just went down and this pyro thing is actually pretty good.

So far he has been the easiest starting boss

What the fuck a bird?
also FIRELINK SHRINE?
What happened it doesnt look anything like the ds3 one?

I don't understand

What is the lore behind firelink shrine and why is it totally different this time around?

Ignore resistance, it's pointless

DS1 feels awkward and restrictive after playing DS3. Generally you'll want to play a lot slower than the other games. Try a shield

Thanks , so far endurance seems OP
I leveled it twice and am impressed that it increases equip load too so this is bonus,
This handaxe takes a ton of stamina to swing though I can only get maybe 2-3 hits in before saving what little stamina I have left.

Na I am 2 handing a Handaxe .
and yeah it does feel slightly outdated and clunky but Ds3 and bloodborne were fast as fuck compared to this.
also any large weapons near the start of the game? like greatswords?

Zweihander in the graveyard

Uh I just got to undead burg, It reminds me of high wall

how far away is the graveyard?

Damn backstabs are easy as hell in this one.
Either that or these enemies are slow as fuck

Next door to Firelink Shrine. Hard to miss

So how do these humanities work compared to effigies and embers?

and I must have missed it , everything is just moldy stonework and it all looks the same.

Using humanity fully heals you and gives you 'soft humanity,' the number next to your life bar. Use one soft humanity at a bonfire to kindle bonfires and get more estus charges, or turn human (allows invasions and summoning). Soft humanity also increases your item drops and some special weapons scale off of it, up to 10 humanity.

Is that why I have 10 fucking estus uses already?
Cool

Firelink Shrine is already kindled yeah

Each bonfire is separate. you'll have to keep kindling others to get more than a handful of estus charges when you rest at them.

Also you can only restore humanity at bonfires. Only a big deal if you're planning to summon a lot

I am playing offline

And is bleed useful?
I bought the reinforced club but I can't tell when bleed is proc'ing tb honest

There are definitely viable bleed builds but I never used them personally

Meta wise straight and great swords still dominate, shields are also significantly more useful. Tonnes of medium and even light ones still manage 100% defense

I was planning on just two-handing ultragreats maybe
I don't know yet.

Well I finally died , tried to make some jump and fell off the side of the map.
Thanks gravity

This jump is definately not possible for me
good thing I am right outside a bonfire so I could just keep getting my souls back.

That black knight was a pain in the ass.

If you want access to certain areas early/shortcuts, then choose the key in the beginning.

too late I chose something else i think the life ring.

Annnd now taurus demon is kicking my ass.
wonderful.
this boss is broken
time to gitgud

try plunging attack

Dude how did you beat the other games? taurus demon is only hard for first timers.

TtooToo drunk and I play terrible when drunk

Honestly this game has to be the worse one I have played so far.
Is it better on PC? Like with dsfix or something. Because this on the 360 is clunky as hell.

After playing the ps4 soulsgames this is just foreign to me.

It looks like absolute horseradish and plays at silky smooth 20 fps half the time
Even dark souls 2 was more fun than this
And I never even played the dlc or scholar of the first sin. And dark souls 2 was nifty and introduced some features that were much needed. Although it plays and looks 100% different than this one and does have its own issues.
I can see where ds1 fans could of been upset at the change in direction.

Thief nigga.
Always thief.
Get dat delicious key, as well as the ring that let's you chat to spiderwaifu.

Too late I went pyro and life ring because I didn't know what the key did or any of the other stuff.

Thief is the worst class stat wise, the only good things are the key, which isn't good for first timers, and the cool looking armor set, which you get relatively early in game.

Dsfix unlocks 60 gps and improves graphics.

The key is great for first timers though. It just allows you to go wherever you want to.
I didn't even know that some places were locked off for later use until my 4th or so playthrough cos I always just took the key.
Was pretty frustrating trying to tell my mate where to go and having him tell me he was stuck behind some door or other.

But yeah, stats for thief are kinda shit.

>I'm not going to use a guide so I need you guys to hold my hand through every decision I make
Play the game yourself you faggot, "oooooh I'm scawwed of the big bad dawk sowls" you might as well be using a guide if you pull this shit.
