No emulation is pretty much perfect, except in 4 your plane has a black color no matter what. For real go play them right now

there's a fan translation patch for ace combat 3 Japanese version with the entire story and etc translated,go look it up and it's really good

the really good AC games are 4,5,Zero and 6,those are kino,so you kinda need to either emulate them or buy a PS2 to play(though it should be really fucking cheap)
but if you really want to play them Ace combat 2 is decent too
