I don't understand why the staff seems incapable of actually arguing. Take the "You're forced to look up 2B's skirt" claim. During the discussion that followed, no one really argued if it matters. It was merely accepted as fact that if this game did this thing, it was therefore gross.
The closest anyone came was Alex saying it didn't detract from his experience / he didn't think about it. Why does no one have the balls to say that a game director has the right to make the main character a sexy maid if he explicitly states, "I like sexy maids, so I made her a sexy maid." Especially in a game with "deep" themes are they argue it is. Why did no one argue that the game is Japanese and therefore comes from a culture where this is more acceptable?
Except these threads tend toward discussion of video games and arguments about video games, even with the constant shitting on people.

I've played it with friends, and I'm pretty normie, I buy cod every year and still enjoy the hell out of it, enough to get to 3rd or 4th prestige every time.
But pubg is just so slow. I don't get the appeal. And no one's able to explain it to me. I've played the game, I know what it's like.

I've played battlegrounds and it's not the best game of any year. Popular, yes, but it doesn't bring any value or improvement to the medium of video games in any way. This kind of game serves the same purpose as something like league of legends. It's like putting a mobile above a baby's crib, keeps them distracted and entertained and nobody has to deal with them for a bit while they drool and shit themselves.

Even with a purely game-related debate (over PUBG), the staff strays away from making arguments that challenge the presumptions people have. That's why I appreciate Ben at least trying to argue against PUBG being held to a different standard from fully-fleshed out, good games.
I guess that's the issue. The next question is, "Should you care?" That's a perfectly legitimate question to ask, but not in the culture that Giant Bomb caters to. People kept claiming they'd been "convinced" to keep Dream Daddy on the list, but it seems like others are irrationally immune to convincing about specific things.

Really though, tekken 7's been out for like 2 years before console release, and it hasn't changed all that much in those 2 years, especially not enough to warrant being top 10. Injustice 2 changed a fair bit from injustice 1 and even if it's just mkx with a dc skin it STILL does it better than tekken 7 handled it's ports. Do you not remember the abysmal month 1 where you sometimes couldn't get connected to anyone, just for no reason at all, or how about where the fucking xbone port was the only one that didn't have severe stuttering?
