Explain the fucking orb stacking to me Sup Forums.
I must be retarded, watched video after video and the only one I can do is Lv1 Photon, Lv2 photon, Ravionous weather with nia.
That's the only one that works. How do I tell what level special I need to use in the chain, the fucking shit on the right has no actual meaning ffs.
I'm level 90 and can't fucking beat Aion.
Jaxson Johnson
Holy shit user are you retarded? Once you use a special, just follow the chart that appears on the upper right.
Robert Hughes
First special needs to be level 1 (or higher), secong level 2 (or higher), third level 3 (or higher). The chart on the right shows eligible ways for you to do the combos. I don't think im wrong, but I might be.
Jose Harris
lol what level 90 and can't beat Aion? He can't even hurt you, just punch him to death.
re: orbs and Full Burst/Chain attacks,
Most elements can be followed by 2 elements one tier up. So you use [1] Heat (Morag, Brighid) now you can follow that with either Steam Bomb (water 2+), or overheat (Fire, level 2+), Steam Bomb can be finished up by Water Hazard (water 3+), and Overheat can be finished up by Nuclear Explosion (light 3+).
Each one has a little chain like this, where 1-3 elements interact with each other. Just learn which ones go where, it's not very complicated.
Stack up 4 orbs, pop green mythra, chain attack and break all 4 orbs, Full Burst, hey look you did 389463478968934678346367894 damage and you won the game.
Nicholas Russell
How do I follow the chart? As in:
1. fire 2. X 3. Y 4. Z
Meaning I use a level 4 Z?
Because I do that, I try to follow the chart. If it's in position 3, I try using a level 3 special of that type, and nothing happens, from videos it seems like that was what it was attempting to say it meant.
The only one that works is Lv1 Ph, Lv 2 Ph, and then RW and even then NOTHING ON THE CHART EVEN HAS ANY OF THOSE ELEMENTS ON THE RIGHT. I just fluked it and continued to use it.
It's driving me nuts.
Ryder Parker
More examples. Light level 1 goes into either Light Level 2 or Thunder level 2; Light level 2 goes into either Light level 3 or water level 3 (Ruinous Weather); thunder level 2 goes into Fire level 3 (Second Sun)
Basically, each element has 2 possible upward routes at any given stage. As long as you have enough diversity of elements among your 9 assigned blades, you're golden.
Just experiment on dinosaurs at Temperantia, and if you kill them too quickly, go to the level 95 dinosaur at Temperantia near the walking titan weapon. It has ... a lot of health, and isn't threatening.
Levi Howard
He does an AOE that one hits every character except tora which has the thing to save him at 1 HP then he gets hit and dies.
Julian Wood
I'm somewhat in the same boat OP although I understand that you're supposed to build it up like said but sometimes the elemental order is all fucked up. For example all that is missing is a Lv 3 Fire Art but Pyra's doesn't but Nia's Lv. 3 Ice works perfectly fine. Or I start Earth/Water but can end it with Percival (Dark)
Levi Williams
Yes but I mean everyone explained the available combos are in the chart on the right after you use a special. How do I follow that chart? Or is that just a "These are the types of orbs available with how your combo is going so far, but you need to memorize the combos?" type of thing?
Thomas Wright
It gives you a prompt when you can use it you fucking idiot. I to start the chain, II for the second level and III to finish the blade combo.
Henry Young
There are four paths.
To start, you need a Special Art Leve 1 or more. Then it spits into two, and you need a Special Art Level 2 to move forward. Whichever one you didn't choose will disappear leaving you with two new options. This time you need a Special Art Level or higher and you're done.
Luis Ross
WHERE DOES IT GIVE THIS PROMPT. Again the stuff in the upper right doesn't even have ANY OF THE ELEMENTS I'M USING when I do get a successful orb combo. Trying any elemental combos shown in the upper right doesn't do or change anything.
Jackson Myers
I never used the chart so i don't know. I just finished killing the level 130 superboss earlier today. I just used the same blades forever and learned what combos worked and what didn't.
With green pyra available you can also get the last 1-2 orbs you're missing if you want all of them.
I used mythra/agate/roc (Rex) dromarch/boreas/vess (nia) brighid/agaeaon/finch (morag)
and had no problems spamming driver combos and getting 5 orbs up very reliably.
And also, Aion's big oneshot "Siren" attack only hit most of my party for around 4,000 damage. Not sure what you're having issues with ,all my characters at level ~90 had like 7k hp or more.
Ryan Young
it'll come up with either A, ZL or ZR with the character portrait, just press them when they come up. it's not rocket surgery
Parker Adams
...
Nolan Cox
The orb is specifically only the last element in a combo, so the ones on the right.
Hunter Long
But why isn't the game showing those upward roots and instead wasting screen on the useless seals nobody ever considered applying. Also some party members are shitting out arts like there's no tomorrow and their combo level is always too fucking high and if you're waiting too long on Lv 3 it just disappears. There's virtually no other possibity than to apply the same orbs again and again since teammembers don't bother playing rythmic
Jeremiah Sanders
You need to mix up your blades with different elements. Who do you have?
It usually follows stuff like Fire -> Fire -> Light Or Ice -> Earth -> Wind
The game prompts you with A or a teammate with ZL/ZR to continue the chain if the right blade is equipped. Otherwise you can see if your blade portraits in the bottom left are glowing, to swap to those ones and use them to attack.
Robert Fisher
I'm pretty sure you're retarded. Literally this thread has broken it down as basic as it can be explained. it isn't a complicated mechanic. the AI plays fine. You're just dumb. Go play hello kitty or player unknown battlegrounds.
Nolan Hill
...
Xavier Hill
It doesn't matter how high it is. It's 1+ into 2+ into 3+, not 1 > 2 > 3. They disappear because you waited too long and now they switched to a different Blade with an element that doesn't fit into your current combo.
Dylan Parker
And also the audio cues that each character gives you to let you know they're ready eg Tora says "leave it to Tora" or something like that.
Josiah Clark
It finally clicked.
OP Here.
I was thinking of, the right hand side as separated. You had the < and then the 4 position list. I thought this meant you treated these as different things, as one was for information, one for instruction, or vice versa.
So the list of 4 I thought that meant what level of element special to use, or I thought maybe I needed to use a B X or Y skill based on the < beside the list etc.
None of it connected.
Instead it's a fucking branching tree path, the < and list of 4 are connected, the list of 4 is showing you ultimately what you can end up with, while the < is showing your path. It's a branching tree path.
This helped while trying it now. I thought this picture was just showing combos, it's showing branching tree paths.
Follow the path depending on how you want the combo to go.
Fuck why was I so dense.
Jacob Sullivan
I'm pretty sure it's a valid complaint since all you're able to do is saying >"uaaaahm acthscually ur retarded" You can only give party members one command and that's it. In a battle all you're essentially doing is dancing around trying to apply orbs despite your teammembers just hacking away at the speed of light and hitting the timeframe for their driver combos they needleesly build. I often found myself unable to apply an orb simply because they skipped from Lv 2 to Lv 3. Sure you can iron out everything when you've killed several bosses with a team because you'll eventually internalize the steps necessary.
Hunter Adams
And Takahashi helps another user into enlightenment.
Kevin Price
Another "retarded guy here" actually everyone explained it really badly. No one explained how it worked, just use lv1 then 2 then 3. The only guy here to explain it where it made sense to me as well was OP here
Carson Allen
But why are they switching blades? Shouldn't they know I'm trying to apply an orb here? And why is Nia more often than not shitting the bed with critical heals? I blame the shitty skill variety. Having 4 skills in total is brutally limiting in terms of actual strategy. I'm also disappointed you're now only able to equip two accessories which also severely limits possible strategy elements.
Ethan Fisher
>level 90 and doesn't understand the fucking combat system Doubt, considering some bosses are nearly impossible to beat without stacking orbs. That or you facerolled the game by overlevelling.
Aaron Allen
>I often found myself unable to apply an orb simply because they skipped from Lv 2 to Lv 3 Elaborate?
Jeremiah Clark
Nah you just keep trying over and over and over and use the right accessories and google bosses to see what type of damage they are using and plan accordingly. Some bosses like Jin and Amaltheus took me literally like 40-50 trys, sometimes you just get lucky.
I was level 65 at Aion, then just went and level to 75, still couldn't win, then 80, couldn't win, then just kept leveling and doing side quests.
Jack Cooper
This usually happens with Nia or Tora, their portrait appears for example with a Lvl. 2 and within two or three seconds they're already entering Lvl. 3. Since only the PC can go into Lvl. 4 and only with max affinity the whole combo goes to ruin.
Daniel Peterson
jesus christ user
why didn't you just look up how the combat system worked early on in the game? you've wasted least 30 hours of you rlife
Brandon Cruz
no it doesn't
Cameron Rivera
Are you being deliberately retarded? It has been explained to you multiple times that this doesn't matter in the slightest. level 3 into 3 into 3 is a valid combo if the elements are correct.
Eli Harris
I did. No one explained it correctly, they just assumed people would connect the dots. Every explanation was just look at the right, use lv 1 then 2 then 3 and right tells you what combo you are stacking or what combos are available.
No one ever stated how the right tells you this. So like I said, I assumed the list of 4 meant to use level 1 fire if first was in first position etc. It never worked. The < I thought meant you needed to also use X Y and B skills with a certain element. Nothing connected right.
No one explained "Hey the < and list of 4 are a branching path, most right is current active skill, follow path in the branching tree" it was just "USE LV1 THEN 2 THEN 3, LOOK AT RIGHT, JUST KNOW HOW IT WORKS OKAY?".
Even tutorial in game didn't fucking explain it right.
Anthony James
>there is no blade combo yet >I use Pyra lvl4 special >the blade combo is now at lvl 1 (heat) >Nia uses her Dromarch lvl3 special >the blade combo is now at lvl 2 (steam bomb) >I use Pyra lvl3 special >the blade combo is now at lvl 3 (steam explosion) Don't worry mate, your combo is not ruined.
Easton King
I am retarded. See
Evan Campbell
Lol follow this.
Juan Cook
i'm not even that good at JRPGs and I understood the combo system pretty quickly
you may be a brainlet, user
Zachary Brown
I am now, and understand it now.
However not everyone sees a picture and connects the dots what it means. I see a combo list on the side and a tree on the left. Doesn't mean i'll connect that to the right side of my game screen without someone saying they are connected and explaining via a real example how it works.
Jason Rodriguez
I watch rick and morty.
Logan Stewart
Jesus Christ I feel like a brainlet now. That means the combo continues if it's at least lv 2 and has the right element? Fuck I've been on Sup Forums for 7 years now and I've probably never made such dumb posts.
Robert Myers
>level 10 >3 blades
Jonathan Edwards
>clearly a pre-release screenshot
Anthony Davis
Stick to persona 5 if you can't handle using your brain.
Daniel Perry
Almost there. Let's use fire-water-fire blade combo as an example again. To get heat (lvl 1), you need a fire special of level 1 or higher. To get steam bomb (lvl 2), you need a water special of level 2 or higher. To get steam explosion (lvl 3), you need a fire special of level 3 or higher.
So in summary, to get to level 1 blade combo, you need a level 1, 2, 3, or 4 special to initiate the combo. to get to level 2 blade combo, you need a level 2, 3, or 4 special to continue the combo to finish off with level 3 blade combo, you need a level 3 or 4 special.
