let's have a comfy mega man maker (formerly megamaker) thread ! the game may have had a shaky start but due to all the additional content and features it got, it's shaping up to be one of the best maker games out there ! the game is only a measly 30mbytes, you can get it here : megamanmaker.com feel free to post stages, r8/h8 & b8.
i'll start by posting my levels : >ELECTRO DOME >THE AIRBASE MISSION >SUNSET HEAVEN DASH >LABORATORY PANIC >SAMURAI TRAIN
I'd participate but I'm too busy brain storming my MAGMML 3 level.
Jacob Nelson
>bait/waifu/non-vidya threads get hundreds of replies >actual good threads die immediately i'm calling it right now wut does that stand for? srry i'm a brainlet
Adam Parker
why is capcom letting this fly when they are about to release mm11 this year?
Henry Rivera
i don't think it's exactly direct competition, it keeps players interested in megaman which is good for them, besides capcom is usually chill about these kinds of things.
David Jackson
It's the Make a Good Mega Man Level Contest 3.
Carson Diaz
Capcom has C&D'd a grand total of one Mega Man fan game ever.
That was Rockmen R: Dr. Wily's Counterattack and that was because the developers were dumb enough to charge for it.
Capcom just don't give a fuck.
Joshua Allen
So naive. First day on Sup Forums now that you are allowed to post here 00s babbies? How cute.
Kayden Cruz
i checked it out right now and it looks promising enough, not sure if i can join though since it's with game maker and >tfw can't code for shit i was scared to shit when that spic MegamanZX51 opened up a patreon for Megaman X Mavericks Fury, i waited ages for that game and wasn't about to have it copyrekt
Leo Price
t. dumb newfag
Brayden Turner
The devkit for the second game is simple enough. If you can use Mega Maker you could probably learn it fairly easily enough.
At this current time there are no less than six Mega Man clones on steam for sale for money.
Nathan Anderson
i'll make sure to try the devkit sometimes >Mega Man clones on steam 20XX is a godsend, glad i didn't ignore it because the artstyle is icky like i was going to
Andrew Anderson
is anyone else really excited about Mega Man X++ ? it's basically megamaker X, but made with C++ instead of game maker so it's instantly better. and the X series has better gameplay youtube.com/watch?v=xzGGqRnfl2w
Wyatt Lopez
>and the X series has better gameplay Too bad literally half of the X series is putrid shit.
Cooper Johnson
4>2>1>shit>5>3>6 obviously i'm exaggerating but they really fucked up, they had perfect gameplay but somehow managed to make it unfun. still early in development it seems
Gavin Kelly
I'd like 20XX more if it wasn't a rougelike.
Lincoln Jones
i actually kind of agree, but then it would be an even more balant ripoff, permadeath also made me play it longer than i would have because i'm bad.
nah looks like shit you know the rules >that music blegh
Joshua Thomas
I'd sooner play Cutman's Bad Scissor's Day.
Gabriel White
>make a megaman maker thread >it devolves into a general megaman thread >no one aknowledges the levels i shill everytime
Kevin James
Mega Maker in general is only popular as streamer bait unfortunately.
Angel Hill
>streamer bait even that seems to have faded after the initial release, which is a shame since the game is way better now.
Michael King
Giga Boots are still dedicated to making videos on it.
James Cruz
When people talented enough to make levels not wanting to deal with Mega Maker's limitations and instead do things like MAGMML and most popular Mega Maker levels being memey shit it's not surprising it's dying.
Powered Up suffered the exact same thing.
Christian Jones
i really hope they keep improving it and adding shit so that problem is mitigated, i'm glad the memes have been on the decline though ever since release vinesauce shitters left.
Carter Howard
they should make MMM modular, as in making all the element and game logic external so you can edit them and add new ones if you have enough GM knowledge.
once your level with custom elements is ready you can set up a page to download the elements and MMM can be configured to download them for you, as well as get acces to them to use them in your levels.
i do get what the makers are trying to do here, but still.
John Bell
Wouldn't that just be the Mega Engine which is what Mega Man Maker (and MAGMML 2) was coded in?
Ryder Thompson
maybe, but what i mean is to create a way to add custom elements (enemies,RMs, weapons, items and tiles/art) to MMM, for ease of use to the public.
The mega engine raw, is just to make games from scratch, andnot everyone can code.
Jaxon King
it'd be simpler and more noob friendly to just let you edit elements with sliders and such, the level editor for mario 63 did something similiar to that but i don't think that will have much hype appeal, i'm afraid the only thing they could add to widen the player base is to add different playable characters (bass/protoman).
Bentley Jenkins
They could steal what MAGMML 2 did and add support for custom player sprites.
So you could play the game as your favorite stupid meme.
Jayden Walker
different characters should have different playstyles, sprite switches appeal to the wrong people (OCfags)
Kayden Thomas
...
Julian Ross
Kinda doubt they're gonna put in alternate characters when they're still adding weapons and enemies first.
Anthony Nguyen
Can't unsee it now
Evan Powell
>Cutman's Bad Scissor's Day. Best MM2 ROM hack desu.
Tyler Miller
There's not much competition since most Rockman 2 hacks are garbage.
