i don't think it's exactly direct competition, it keeps players interested in megaman which is good for them, besides capcom is usually chill about these kinds of things.

Capcom has C&D'd a grand total of one Mega Man fan game ever.

That was Rockmen R: Dr. Wily's Counterattack and that was because the developers were dumb enough to charge for it.

The devkit for the second game is simple enough. If you can use Mega Maker you could probably learn it fairly easily enough.

At this current time there are no less than six Mega Man clones on steam for sale for money.

it's basically megamaker X, but made with C++ instead of game maker so it's instantly better.

Mega Maker in general is only popular as streamer bait unfortunately.

even that seems to have faded after the initial release, which is a shame since the game is way better now.

Giga Boots are still dedicated to making videos on it.

When people talented enough to make levels not wanting to deal with Mega Maker's limitations and instead do things like MAGMML and most popular Mega Maker levels being memey shit it's not surprising it's dying.

Powered Up suffered the exact same thing.

i really hope they keep improving it and adding shit so that problem is mitigated, i'm glad the memes have been on the decline though ever since release vinesauce shitters left.

they should make MMM modular, as in making all the element and game logic external so you can edit them and add new ones if you have enough GM knowledge.

once your level with custom elements is ready you can set up a page to download the elements and MMM can be configured to download them for you, as well as get acces to them to use them in your levels.

i do get what the makers are trying to do here, but still.

Wouldn't that just be the Mega Engine which is what Mega Man Maker (and MAGMML 2) was coded in?

maybe, but what i mean is to create a way to add custom elements (enemies,RMs, weapons, items and tiles/art) to MMM, for ease of use to the public.

The mega engine raw, is just to make games from scratch, andnot everyone can code.

it'd be simpler and more noob friendly to just let you edit elements with sliders and such, the level editor for mario 63 did something similiar to that but i don't think that will have much hype appeal, i'm afraid the only thing they could add to widen the player base is to add different playable characters (bass/protoman).

They could steal what MAGMML 2 did and add support for custom player sprites.

So you could play the game as your favorite stupid meme.

different characters should have different playstyles, sprite switches appeal to the wrong people (OCfags)

Kinda doubt they're gonna put in alternate characters when they're still adding weapons and enemies first.
