I just started a new game of SoC with the COMPLETE mod, since playing only the vanilla once like 8 years ago.
Holy shit, how is the shotgun just so right and satisfying?
You can snipe cykas up to 100mts with slugs and it's just the best feeling ever.
Also, learning the bullet drop of subsonic weapons, like the vss, with the markings on the scope really pampers to my /k/autism.

I'm going to move to rusia soon so I'm thinking of clearing Clear sky and Call of Pripyat. Any recommendations?

Anyway I didn't finish CoP yet but so far Duty seem just trigger happy retards, that try to fight something they don't even understand. Freedom seems to have the right idea. Plus according to the Freedom leader in Yanov they seem to interfere with government trying to keep stuff secret from the people.

SoC's accuracy is ass. Shift crouched at 10m should land with a Sniper TRs-301. I shouldn't dice roll and waste a mag trying to kill one monolith. If I want the most efficient weapon, are snipers my only bet? I picked off a GP 37 by "observing" the duty v freedom fight but it feels just as inaccurate. As a result, a good 30% of my weight is 5.56.
Another issue is damage. Shouldn't a Big Ben to the stomach of a feral dog instant kill?
Also are blowouts supposed to happen without mods? I am on my second play through and I haven't seen one.

So I went all the way from the swamp to the army warehouses on a quest to find myself the legendary weapon, one hailed as the most powerful in all of the zone, with a firerate and damage that can shred a Hind to pieces in mere seconds and accuracy to shoot the wings off a fly from a distance of over 1000 metres.
That weapon is the PP-19 Bizon with a PSO-1, it still manages to elude me but I will find it soon.

gp-37 is best gun for sniping at medium to close range, always go for headshots for isntant kills. Blowouts don't happen at all in SoC without mods except for the scripted one when you're at CNPP.

I don't remember about accuracy bot damage is 95% determined by the ammo. So no matter what weapon you use, if it fires 5.56 or 5.45 it's gonna be shit. You want something that shoots the 9mm subsonic rounds or 7.62.

So what are the best guns to play with in CoP, on my first play through I used Storm that I got from nimble, loved it. On my second I forced myself to try something different and went for Tide, which I loved too, being able to headshot anyone from anywhere silently is great, I'm using a Avalance SA now and the Spas14 you get from nimble for mutants. Not sure what else to try.

also if NPCs are carrying any med kits they will use them instantly if they take damage. so you may be hitting them for 90% of their health but they instantly recover it
