why did I let Sup Forums meme me into buying this garbage? there's no story, the graphics are shit, the atmosphere is good but it's useless since there is no narritive

if this game wasn't hard it would be panned by everyone

yeah it's really shit. dont buy dark souls either

>hey look at me im shitting on yiur favorite game

and the combat is a chore too, just like all the other from games

>there's no story
Objectively false. Fromsoft doesn't tell a story like other games, there's dialogue but you also have to read item descriptions.

>the graphics are shit
Not true but it's subjective

I guess if you don't like it you don't like it, but it's a phenomenal game, and considering you probably won't finish it, here's a spoiler and a great piece of music from the OST.

>I need a story to enjoy a game

Maybe do a little research on a game before buying it. If you like story focused games, then yeah you won't like Bloodborne or any of the Souls games. The people who do like it enjoy games that focus on the gameplay.

Also the story and lore is really interesting once you read more about it online

Reminder whenever you see posts like this, 9 times out of 10 it's coming from people who think games like the Witcher 3, Skyrim, and Dragon Age are good games. If a game doesn't straight up tell them what's happening and mark on a map where to go they don't like it.

>If you like story focused games, then yeah you won't like Bloodborne or any of the Souls games.
wtf that's not even true. Souls games are 50/50 lore/gameplay. Imagine playing these games with a literal non existent story, no lore, no world building. It'd be awful. Compare killing x boss knowing he's Y's father, to just killing x boss. Boring.

skyrim and dragon age are terrible, dragon age is even worse than this

I know Souls games have a lot of story behind them, but it's not the focus like OP wants. Thats why I said the game actually has a lot of story and shit, but you kinda need to look online to understand what the fucks going on.

I don't know why people overrate the main game, found the DLC much better. But Souls games in general are massively overhyped so I don't know what I was expecting.

>no quest markers
>not even a map
>no fishing minigame
Game looks like shit lol

>if this game wasn't exclusive it would be panned by everyone
fify

Exactly what happened with Nioh.

>item descriptions counts as story

I can understand a lot of subjective criticism of Bloodborne but "the graphics are shit" simply isn't true.

>a games story doesn't count as story unless it's in a cutscene

be honest user, when was the last time you read a book?

Only game that comes to mind that does similar is Fatal Frame, They put a shit ton of lore in everything

The story is very detailed. God damn.

DUDE CHROMATIC ABERRATION LMAO

I played every Souls game while giving no shit about anything narrative related and enjoyed all of them.

I'd say unlike other Souls games (haven't played DeS), Bloodborne presents a clear path of story progression without the need of any item descriptions.

>become a hunter because you need Paleblood
>hear about Cathedral Ward, make your way there while doing hunter shit
>no luck, hear about Byrgenwerth from Alfred
>make your way to Byrgenwerth, while finding increasingly bizarre creatures.
>kill Rom for reasons, by now you realize that there's much more going on behind the scenes
>oh shit Rom was the good guy all along, time to stop the fucks who kidnapped you earlier from fucking shit up some more
>after killing TOR, go to the Nightmare of Mensis in order to finish the job and kill the source of the Nightmare
>three endings happen

You can deduce all of this by just talking to other NPCs and progressing through the game.

Bloodborne has the most straightforward narrative of any Souls game, if you have trouble understanding it then I feel bad for you.

because the gameplay is fun but knowing the lore makes it a million times better

Graphics would be fine if not for the massive chromatic aberration + 30fps eye rape fuckfest. It desperately needs a pc port so it can be fixed but it'll never happen. Story was okay.

How do I killl Orphan

That's a legitimate complaint though. It's absolutely fucking horrendous in Bloodborne, similar to Payday 2 except it can be disabled in the latter. I don't want it to look like I'm playing on some shitty broken camcorder from the 80s.

Guts.

>dude binary thinking lmao
have you been tested for autism?

Fight him near the water, made the fight 100x easier for me. Also learn to parry/interrupt his attacks, first phase is easily all parried, second you can still get his autism charge or placenta slashes.

It's not even hard:

> attacking replenished your health
> you can run past every single enemy that isn't a boss and not get touched
> 24 vials to give you circa 12 extra lives at any one point
> spectres and notes to show and tell you exactly what to do every step of the way
> a core mechanic is being able to summon 2x people to do anything remotely difficult for you

The game isn't hard whatsoever. It's inherently very easy.

I went in blind and platinumed it in 10 days, never having played a Souls game before.

Pic related.

>7.0%
>very rare

Here's my MGSV emblem too.

It is a legitimate complaint, which is why I brought it up. It looks like shit. You should be able to turn it off.
>DUDE DEFENDING BAD DESIGN CHOICES LMAO

The fact that this thread gets made every day is testament to how good it is. It was my game of the year for that year and it still is great to play now.

That's my entire point. It's not hard.

> a core mechanic is being able to summon 2x people to do anything remotely difficult for you
That mechanic is more like training wheels, fighting bosses by myself and winning with guts is my favorite part about soulsborne games.

Yep it's autism. Game is immediately 0/10 piece of shit because of a few questionable design decisions, obviously

stop replying to him
he's posted the same shit in almost every BB thread since february 2017, derailing many of them

Lol ignoring how easy it was, the combat is incredibly basic and you can complete the main game about 5 times over in an average waking day

Should have gotten DS3 if you wanted an introduction. It is the least ugly game in a grimey looking series.

> PLEASE DONT SPEAK TO HIM!!
> HE SAYS MEAN WORDS ABOUT MY FAVOURITE EVER GAME

Pathetic.

>he's posted the same shit in almost every BB thread since february 2017, derailing many of them

That's some real dedication right there

It's genuine autism. We were having a good thread about the game the other day until he sperged out and we got 300 posts of console war and 10days posting

It's not been in every thread at all, I work and have been banned about 25 times since February too, so it's not realistic at all.

>have been banned about 25 times since February too
jesus you are one of the biggest retards on this board

I'm not autistic.

Sorry for talking about vidya in a vidya dedicated forum.

1 objectively has the best aesthetic out of all of them. The only nice area I can even remember from 3 was Irithyll. Everything else had some sort of vomit inducing yellow filter over it.

> a core mechanic is being able to summon 2x people to do anything remotely difficult for you
So you had other people play the game for you and then said it wasn't hard???

It's all pasta that everyone knows but even though reading that it's all someones opinion on why the game is easy, doesn't necessarily mean it's bad.

I never said the game was a 0/10 because of chromatic aberration, holy shit calm down manchild.

stop replying to it

I finished NG at level 179, I didn't need to summon anyone for anything.

The fact that it's gifted to you throughout though is just a joke.

It's like playing a sports game but then having a button you can press to just immediately score a goal. It's optional to use it, but the fact that it's readily available destroys any semblance of a challenge.

>b-but muh linear narrative

It's not pasta at all.

These are my legitimate first hand experiences from playing the game.

My profile is Cloud__ffvii (2 underscores), you're welcome to view the trophies there too.

I'm not a fan of souls series but one thing I appreciate about the games is that they have good boss fights compared to the shit we get in today's videos games.
I don't remember a single game in over 5 years that had this fun boss fights that were actually aggressive, had a decent move set and a 2nd phase to boot.
I'm mainly playing beat em up games and over the years they got so easy that a brain dead toddler could beat it, recently the Yakuza series got popular but the actual gameplay is so brain dead easy even on the hardest difficulty that even a spin-off from the same series on a PSP console has a better combat and difficulty then the almighty shilled Yakuza 0 on this board and all over internet.

It's funny you should use the word linear when discussing Bloodborne, because it is the most painfully linear game you'll have played this millenium.

I went in blind and platinumed it in 10 days, never having played a Souls game before.

> PLEASE STOP REPLYING

Just leave the thread.....

I think you have to gauge on the aesthetics and atmosphere of these games because if we're being honest, all of them have shit graphics. Yes, including Bloodborne. Character models and textures still look awful. Demon's and DS1 have my favorite visual style, DS3 is too muddy and brown for me.

What game in the right hand pic?

This is the skill of 10 days guy. He also level grinded to Level 80 before Forbidden Woods
FF9

>It's pasta at all.
It's not pasta, but it's definitely not the first time you posted this.
boards.fireden.net/v/search/filename/IMG_0069/

This guy moves into your neighborhood. What do you do?

Final Fantasy 9.

I did the Excalibur 2 run on PAL, no FMV skip, no ps2 double disc speed, no turbo controller, no glitches - now THAT was a hardcore gaming challenge.

That picture is meant to offer a contrast between a modern day concept of a hard vidya challenge, to an actual hardcore vidya challenge.

I didn't say it was.

Sorry for posting about Bloodborne in a Bloodborne related thread.

Daily reminder the 10days poster is an autistic Algerian called Nassim, lives in bangkok, and fucks ladyboy prostitutes regularly

Literally /ourguy/

ok? are you expecting some kind of recognition? your opinion is still trash whether you platinumed it or not

So much this. I've never bought into the "it's clunky on purpose" bullshit with these games. These games would be vastly improved if a developer like Platinum or Team Ninja made them.

I live in the UK, I'm called Michael.

In what way is the combat clunky?
You have different combos with different weapons, different dodges plus they make them easy for you that you are invincible during right timed dodges.
The only thing absolutely shit in those games is the lock-on, barely works especially if you have multiple enemies at different heights.

>I did the Excalibur 2 run on PAL, no FMV skip, no ps2 double disc speed, no turbo controller, no glitches - now THAT was a hardcore gaming challenge

No one cares. Not one person on this entire board. Jesus Christ
>>>/reddit/

You can do for the Excalibur 2 run.

That was actually challenging.

Post favorite weapons

It's just never felt fluid or intuitive to me. I'm not asking for Bayonetta or anything but I'd say there's a lot of room for improvement.

>hurrr... me haff read??? ANGRY! NO! NO!

How wrong you are:

boards.fireden.net/y/thread/2264788//index.php/v/thread/357296485/#357296561

The non-millennials of this board appreciate it.

Tell her she's a good girl

I do enjoy the whole "everything's vague, read up on item descriptions" storytelling but the combat in these games is so terrible and I'm perplexed as to why anyone likes it.

Nice try "Alan"

>ANOTHER ONE
why?

What similar games have good combat then?

Go play witcher 3 you normcasual.

I cant tell if people have just stopped putting effort into b8 or if the average Sup Forums gaymur is just a retard.

It's alot of reading and everyone knows kids these days hate reading.

>That was actually challenging.

It's actually not comparable nor relevant to bloodborne in any way whatsoever.

>how wrong you are
>not one person on this entire board
I'm not actually.

Go back to the random shithole board you crawled out of. Don't come back.

I'd rather post gem setups for said weapon.

I sort of agree. I've enjoyed a couple of them but From Software is way too experienced at this point to excuse the recurring technical and mechanical problems in their games. It's really worn thin for me.

I think the interface of that link has flummoxed you user. That's an archived thread from Sup Forums. Dummy.

My name isn't Alan.

That's what I mean though. They have a good concept with the way that the world informs the player and you learn the world through items instead of the game explaining everything to you, it's fairly unique and novel in this regard, but the combat is dogshit. It was fine for Demon's because that was their first try, but it's been awful for the entirety of this series.

What don't you like about the combat? I like that it's simple and pretty customizable. Dodging actually makes sense and isn't just a timing puzzle and positioning can tend to matter.

i care

Oh and it's time for them to stop milking the Souls franchise and come up with something different. I wish they'd revive the Otogi series or something.

It's not a one to one copy of that means it's trash.

Thank you user :^)

Item descriptions should give you some additional world building, but should never be the substitute for proper storytelling. Reading about some armor and finding out some stuff about a far off land that isn't at all involved with what you're doing is fine, but when you have to go read a bunch of item descriptions after killing a boss to figure out why they were such a big deal in the first place it's pretty lame.

there isn't a single game with a more engaging, fun and fluid combat system than bloodborne/dark souls.

First time posting in this thread.

I've seen you bragging about this in another thread about half a year ago. Holy shit, get a life. FF9 is a stupid weeaboo game (I got it on release day, so I'm not a latecomer). And the only reason why the PAL run is harder is basically due to a programming bug in the game timer. WOW.

Either bait or retarded.
