GTA Vice City took place in 1986

>GTA Vice City took place in 1986

>16 years from GTA VC's release

We are now as far from gta VC as GTA VC was from the "retro timeline" it took place in.

>make another gta when v is still topseller
yeah no

And it's still the best GTA.

I would agree but it's just so so so clunky, the shooting is horrendous

What have I accomplished in 16 years:

-Graduated middle school
-Graduated high school
-Graduated college
-Graduated masters
-Got black belt

and still no gf

I don't give a rat's ass

Take your baby by the hand

R* got so fucking full of themselves and greedy. Fuck them

>want to replay it so badly
>it runs like shit on windows 10

>windows 10
Dumb Florida moron.

>doesn't own a PS2
>it isn't set up and ready to play right now

>playing the ps2 version when the superior xbox version exists

I'm actually looking forward to an early naughties GTA. Pagers, no internet mehmehs, The Wire-esc drugring vibe, oversize leather jackets, so on...

Best story, setting, radio, and properties but SA is the best GTA

>I'm actually looking forward to an early naughties GTA

That was San Andreas pal

If GTA SA ended around the shootout under the bridge, then maybe...

this, I'd love to see some of that plastic kitsch era in a gta

SA took place in 1992 bruv

But driving through the desert listening to K-DST is one of the best parts of SA

...

>not playing the pc version with the xbox's enhancements
>no internet mehmehs
>homestar, hampsterdance, dancing baby

>owning any console that has buttons labeled White and Black

That was nineties, man.
If anything it was GTA3, but I'd still like to see them revisit setting and maybe make an effort of telling a story that isn't embarrassingly shallow like SA and V.
(I haven't enjoyed a GTA since Vice)

best gta
also started replaying it earlier this week, fun as hell but a lot of fps drops, dont know if the ps2 version was always like that or if it's because im playing it on my ps3

Wut? Its from that shootout onwards that the storyline starts to get good.

You intentionally just described GTA III, right?

>miss your favorite song on the radio
>saving doesn't move radios forward
>have to wait for the entire rest of the station to finish before you can hear it again

Yeah, a little of that too, but it should really never have gotten to san fiaro or las venturas and all that depressing stale shit. Nod say 'yessir' CJ!

If your favorite song on the OST isn't Atomic or Billie Jean then just get out of my face

I'll admit that I'd forgotten gta3 was 'present day' back then, but I'd still like to see them revisit it.

Does "naughties" mean the 2000nds?

nah man, I wanted to quit that game like a dead-end job when it got to San Fierro

no it means the 2000s
and it's a stupid word for it that I kind of hope dies

yeh

I'll never understand people who have problems with San Fierro and Las Venturas, the only stuff that I thought was boring was gang wars and tagging graffiti which is only really in Los Santos.

aw come on, it's fun

This

to be honest I can't recall any san fierro mission other than the rc airplane one. definitely a low point in the game
I liked the desert/Venturas part though

>not speeding around Vice City blasting YOU'RE OUT OF TOUCH
Look at this pleb

>not putting peanut butter on both sides

gang wars is fun as shit
Fucking take over everything, shoot niggas, it's great, real ballin ass shit

Graffiti is just another hidden package

San Fierro has a few of the worst missions in the entirety of the game, and Las Venturas lets you easily make a fortune gambling in a series where obtaining ill-gotten gains through doing crimes was kind of the point. It's one of the many shark jumping moments of this series.

>YOU'RE OUT OF TOUCH
>not Sunglasses at Night
kys my dude

Gang wars would be great with a little more polish but it's pretty awkward, especially when ballas run 50 miles in the opposite direction so they can cross the street.

I reeeaaally hated it. I really didn't like starting out as a broke hoodlum, which was cool, and suddenly deciding to steal a rocket ship or whatever... the tone was all over the place

>especially when ballas run 50 miles in the opposite direction so they can cross the street.
we wuz law abidin citizens n shiet

oh I agree that it's jank as fuck, and that every instance of it pretty much plays out the same way, save for the very rare times the AI cheaps out on you and you get overrun
but there's something satisfying about clearing that map, probably just OCD related

>miss your favorite song on the radio
>its fine because there are tons of other good songs on other stations

>gang wars
>that tiny bit of land near the motel where almost no ballas spawn
how the fuck did they not see this

You mean that little sliver of territory that's basically just a sidewalk? Yeah that was pretty dumb.

Why did you feel the need to point this out?

life was so amazing back then, this retro throwback game was the most popular thing on the block, everybody played it, the news of bikes being in the game blew up and kids got so hyped, the game had everything a kid could want, the setting was better and more exotic than the last game, there was more vehicles, the water looked incredible, the music was all of your dads favorite music and you loved it as well. Having no reference at all for large swaths of time flying by, it felt like the game must have been set eons ago, in a totally bygone era.

what happened?

I'd much rather keep it in the tone of the gangbangning and polish the gang war part (make it deeper by having actual missions and not just a to-do list) instead going on a fun wacky adventure for the whole family and investing in an airline and shit

I own a PS2 but it died a long time ago. Where is your god now?

>sunglasses at night
>not Cars
Please.

I want GTA to feel like this again.

why not buy a new one? they're dirt cheap

*buy another one
Unless some chicks somewhere on the internet are actually pumping out new ps2 consoles?

I have so much nostalgia for GTA III and VC, but I can't revisit them, I hate how they play, there's no fun to be had with them anymore.

I don't have this problem with any other series, I can always go back to older "aged" titles, but with GTA I just can't.

>not having an argument

>>>/livejournal/

Play the PC version.

>console versions of GTA VC

Do you people not enjoy superior controls and mods

any other emotional guys here?

>30 FPS in 2018

:(

>playing a shitty port that you have to mod to not be complete ass

I loved using the canon as a turbo. I was really sad when I found out that they scraped this out in GTA San Andreas.

Yeah, now I'm listening to 80s music and wondering where everything went wrong.

Life's what you make it.

i think i have to play this game again tonight
or watch scarface

>Cars
>not (Keep Feeling) Fascination

Same here, tried replaying the PS2 era GTAs last year but couldn't. Shitty gameplay and boring cliche story.

VC isn't really set up to handle 60 FPS. Same goes with SA.

The vanilla version of VC is better than the PS2 version of PC. Mods are a bonus

Upgrade to Windows 7

Isn't the PC version such a blunder you need to mod in the Malibu Club's lights?

GTA2 is still my favorite GTA, and im not nostalgiafagging

Childhood is liking Vice City

Adulthood is realizing that while Vice City is a great game, that Vice City stories is far superior

it runs fine just fine

I don't know what you're referring to

you treating me like if i got herpes

Tommy is the best character in any GTA

The game bugs in all kinds of ways if you don't turn on v-sync. I've tried mods, but even at 60 fps game doesn't really work properly.

Pretty sure the PC version is missing shit such as some textures, the Malibu Club's lights, and rain reflections which you need to mod in.

Potentially true.

But I'll take kbm controls and a more stable frame rate over some busted textures.

Should I delete my porn collection, porn accounts and start the year with a genuine attempt to change and be in a different situation, or at least have lived through something so that when 2019 begins next year I can look back on 18 and not feel despair and regret.

Fuck no, what the hell would possess you to even think of doing that.

>Doesn't start flying like I expected
activate flying cars cheat nigga

I fucking love this intro too.
Turning a firetruck into a flamethrower was good times.
I'd love a GTA that stayed closer to the vibe of that intro, though. That borrowed from films like Rounders and Election and Enemy of the State and that whole old school underworld crime thriller vibe.
GTA3 already took a lot from Sopranos, but I just feel like there's more to be done with it.

>he didn't have a custom playlist on PC or Xbox

Well yeah... but you might wanna start by closing the chan and going for a walk. but you're probably already armed with your dick right now, so see 2k19 I guess

I'm subscribed to 1300+ traps spanning xhamster, pornhub, xtube and tumblr. Starting to feel wrong.

cutting off porn is a good idea, it fucks with your brain's reward system
use your imagination only to fap

>Starting to feel wrong.
Get the fuck out of this thread, you stupid bitch. There's probably some shitposting thread you can go blog in. This is a fucking video games thread.

Biggest thing missing are the loading screens, imo

>And it's still the best GTA.

>no swimming
>city is lot more narrow than Liberty City and only a tad bit bigger in playable area

Vice City suffered greatly by not introducing swimming. I forget how many missions involved boats, but christ drowning was fucking stupid, It was basically a semi-sequel or rather a spin off than full blown sequel that SA was. To me, San Andreas was the true sequel to GTA3. Not saying VC was bad though, it just didn't offer major improvements over GTA3.

the OP being a sobering reminder of the passage of time made me think of it, user.

this is outrageous, why was the pc port so botched?

because Rockstar has never, and still doesn't give a shit about PC, sadly.

GTA 3 takes place in 2001, GTA: Liberty City Stories takes place in 1998

GTAV is still so fucking expensive. It is pretty much still full price years after release. People talk about CoD all the time, how it prints money.
GTA is probably the only franchise still sells a shit ton of copies, years after release.

Most profitable IP ever in gaming?
Reminder that EA almost bought Take 2 and all of it's assets, including Rockstar

I first played GTA SA in 2006 and completed it again last year and San Fierro missions were pretty lame, while Las Venturas section of the game was short as fuck
