Why do you buy digital...

Why do you buy digital? Isn't it better to buy a physical game for $60 and sell it for $30-$50 later than it is to buy a $60 digital game and be stuck with it forever?

I only buy digital when it's like half price off. I don't end up spending more than if I had bought and sold the game, which includes bothering with people, something I'd rather avoid.

That isn't even how it works. It's more like
>buy 400$ DRM box
>buy 60$ physical game
>buy 60$ annual subscription to play in multiplayer
>sell game for 30$ after playing it
vs
>buy 1500$ computer
>buy 60$ digital game
>realize immediately it's shit and refund it
>buy another awful 60$ game
>shitpost about the state of the gaming industry on Sup Forums with your 1500$ browsing machine

it's just more convenient.

I don't have to deal with people when buying digital.

I don't want physical trash taking up space, and I don't have any particular interest in selling back games I buy. Also, my main console now is Switch, and fuck needing an extra little bag to hold all your cartridges when you're travelling.

No, it's better to buy a $60 for $50 because it's cheaper on PC or wait a while and buy it for $25.

Plus I can just download the thing.

Physical games depreciate over time whereas digital is still full price no matter what unless it goes on sale.

Take a look at Odin Sphere it's a full blown $60 in psn but a physical copy is literally about $30.

Unless if you live a smaller country where game stores usually don't stock enough for it to go down in cost. That's why I mostly rely on digital sales.

First I'm not on the hype train so I only buy games after some time and second browsing and buying is easier

Sucks I'm sending money to some faceless company in Washington, instead of some local shop getting a cut, but it's just too convenient.

When and iffff I really want to play a console game this is what I do. Buy it second hand physical on Gumtree or Ebay and then sell it off a week or so later, maybe $10 max out of pocket. Sometimes when I get lucky I even make a few bucks.

>>buy 400$ DRM box

You don't know what DRM means twat

The only physical media I like to collect are books and I find displaying a bunch of movies or games the move of a manchild.

They did a poll and more people prefer physical over digital, but if they dont have a choice they'll go digital

Will Sony, Nintendo and Microsoft eventually just make a digital marketplace where that's the only place to buy games for their consoles?

I don't buy shit games so I have no intention of selling them.
Also, who the fuck is retarded enough to buy a game for $60 these days?

Nah. Even if physical sales fall to like 30%, that is still 30% more sales and money than wiping it out completely.
But jesus fuck. That rapid change is ludicrous.

I only buy games to support developers, since I can pirate most of them. If I don't think the current price of the game is appropriate, I'll wait until it decreases in price.

>collects book basically just to show off to other people
Pathetic.

>Also, who the fuck is retarded enough to buy a game for $60 these days?
Millions of people for some reason. The only time I pay full price for games are those games I'm extremely hyped for. Plus with Amazon and Best Buy even new games are still less than $60. And even then that's like 1 to 2 games a year.

A digital marketplace will never happen unless the standard internet speed across the world is at least 20mbps.

>and sell it for $30-$50 later
yeah sure

I want physical over digital.
>no need to worry about memory space
>I like a physical collection
>No need to worry if support will fail or something or other
>Friends can borrow it

I bought Persona 5 limited edition for $48 with Amazon Prime and sold it for $55 used. Stay mad.

>collects book basically just to show off to other people
No, I collect books because I love to read them. I go through almost a book a week. The fact that displaying them is better than showing off anime figurines and your BING BING WAHOO Pops is just an ancillary benefit, faggot.

>selling your games
I'm not a nigger.

>buy

>and I find displaying a bunch of movies or games the move of a manchild.
Hmm.

good luck pirating Bloodborne

I don't sell games. I may as well pay less and save space by buying digital. Not to mention most of the games for PC don't get physical releases. I buy physical Nintendo games, that's about it.

>capeshit films and video games are the same as literature
Try to keep up, brainlet. I bet your room at grandma's house is full of plastic Link swords and cowaduty boxes, too.
