When was the last time a game really gripped you and pulled you in? I feel dead inside because nothing interests me enough anymore.
When was the last time a game really gripped you and pulled you in...
Furi, Shadow Tactics did it for me. Also, Hollow Knight.
evaxephon
Getting lost in the maze of Hollow Knight.
Nier Automata desu
maybe Persona 5 also, but that honestly a bit of a dissapointment in the story departement.
Fallout 4
This was me all year until I played XC2.
Breath of the Wild.
Mass Effect Trilogy. Going through it again trying to recapture that spark.
XC2 is the most recent one
I would recommend P4G as well
Your best bet would be to seek games that either have a really interesting cast of characters that you interact with over the course of a long time (40-60+ hours), or games where your characters can be killed off permanently if your play is off. Games like Fire Emblem and XCOM work really well to pull you into the games and get you emotionally invested in the characters and situations, while also presenting a moderately difficult challenge.
I played Binary Domain a week ago, It was a pretty good. New game wise I would say Hollow Knight, I really got lost in the world
KOTOR1. First played it when I was a wee brainlet with poor english skills, so I never got much out of it, so I'm really happy to revisit it properly.
SOMA
Uncharted and Warframe are making me feel like a kid again rn.
Going back through the ME trilogy, it doesn't really start to work its magic on me again until you get to the sovereign reveal
Hollow knight made me want to keep going after I found the dream nail
Drakengard 3 was a weird one, you want to keep going just to see the shit it will pull up, and the final boss holy shit, whoever designed that shit deserves jail time, the wildest ride I've played, even though the game itself is dogshit
Started playing deus ex a couple of weeks ago for the first time. The story is great, and there are small rpg elements that make it fun. Plus its considered one of the greatest games of all time.
Try weed bro. Even COD zombies will legit immerse u and scare u
BotW. Put like 300 hours in it. I still pick it up from time to time just to mess around with stasis and stuff.
Around two years ago now, when I played Arx Fatalis for the first time
DUDE WEED
Relaying Dragon Age Origins again after all these years is pretty bittersweet. I'd like to see a DA4 that recaptures a bit that passion and story variety again, but I guess EA is going to do its damnedest to keep that from happening.
ME1 was a pretty slow burn, but I thought that it had its memorable moments. Every Saren confrontation and the argument with Wrex was pretty good.
Persona 5 absolutely ruined me. The final 15 odd hours were fucking dumb with Yaldabaoth and the weird Mementos dungeon but after 94 hours I really didn't care.
I once got pulled into Majora's Mask with my "going into games machine"
>Furi
THIS
Heart pounding, exhilarating good time with pumpin' synthwave beats.
Drakengard 3's final boss gives me an aneurysm. The design is unique, the music is amazing, and it's probably the most atmospheric part of the game. But damn those rhythm mechanics from keeping me from ever finishing it.
I could look up a video guide, but I just can't be bothered.
Probably The Witcher 3. I fucking loved every second of that game. I really want to play it again, but I feel like it won't be as fun the second time around and that it'll tarnish my memories.
Total Warhammer and Dark Souls 3. Got them both during the winter sale and spent like 70 hours in a week playing them.
Probably the climax of Pyre.
I didn't think anyone could make me care about the emotional outcome of a sports-styled fantasy game, but Supergiant did it.
Risk at sounding like a shill aside
Alien Isolation, it's got to be imo one of the most if not THE most immersive game I've ever played
So fucking highschool it hurts
Isolation is probably one of the best horror games i've played for a while. Xenomorph is creepy as shit
I've been procrastinating on playing that because I don't know what Witcher 2 choices I want to import.
Which is stupid, because I hear it doesn't make much of a difference, but the choice was still bothering me.
It was probably Morrowind after I finally learned how major and minor skills worked.
More recently, xenoblade chronicles
this has to be a bait post
Meme answer, but Doki Doki Literature Club is probably the first psychological horrors that's had me on the edge of my seat in a long, long, time.
The World Ends With You
>mfw everything about week 2
funnily enough, I tried weed for the first time the other day, and playing Skyrim was so fucking weird.
Twilight Princess. Just replayed it a few days ago. The ending where Zelda and Link are both fighting for Midna's sake gets me every time.
>mfw it's just you and ganon fighting 1v1 at the very end
P cool, user. Where are you from?
fuck man, I feel bad for saying it, but it had me like that too. That whole 2nd loop I was freaking the fuck out constantly, dude did a fantastic job on it
>Tfw its real
I didn't think Call of Duty sunk this low, but they know their fanbase I guess.
Hat in Time takes me back to a simpler time.
Utawarerumono 2/3. That was only like a week ago too, hopefullg I can find something else to remedy it with
Definitely a hat in time
I pirated it thinking it's would be mediocre as fuck but then i had fun from start to finish.
The second it's went on sale, i bought it off on steam since it's also features a workshop filled with mods already
