What's the true Sup Forumserdict? This was our most anticipated game.
Persona 5
The PS3 could not have had a better swan song
Who are "we"?
Solid 7.5/10.
Solid 10/10
so when do we get to P4 levels of milking?
One of the best games of the year, impeccable visual style and music, great character dynamic, nice take on the turn based formula. Also gets weaker near the end, some dungeons drag, and english dub is trash.
Great game. Decent story and characters. Palace 5 and 7 were shit. A bit too grindy. Music is fantastic but any great music can get repetitive when you've heard it enough.
now
Probably my favorite game of all time
Should I start with P4?
Any point to playing 3?
fuck persona 3 its awful
play persona 4
Shit, just like 's taste.
play whichever one you think is the best
sorry i dont like repetitive ass tartar sauce and boring characters
Of course there's a point to playing P3. There's a reason it's so many people's favorite Persona game. Its dark themes and story are wholly different from P4 and may appeal to you more if you're into that.
Persona 3 is pretty unpolished, but it's great story- and atmosphere-wise.
Persona 4 is sort of a middle ground where neither gameplay nor characters are especially good.
Anime's coming out, Persona Q 2 has been announced, P5 (and P3) dancing games coming this year, probably a fighting game whenever ArcSys is done with DBZ Fighterz and Blazblue Cross, safe to say the milk train's already here
XC2 > Nier > Persona 5
This is objectively true.
Gameplay and music got me through the weird ending/ final boss. Visuals are incredible. I would marry Haru Okumura. 10/10
A rather 'comfotrable' aesthetic at most times.
Good soundtrack, but it gets repetitive seeing as you'll be listening to most of the tracks for hours throughout a game.
The exploitation of weaknesses makes the game feel too easy when you can abuse them, but when you're faced with something without weaknesses it feels unnecessarily frustrating compared to the breezes you had before.
There's sort of a "make and use this stronger thing for later on and keep making and using stronger things" vibe I get (see: the mainline SMT games) but there's still a lot of leeway later on
7/10
I enjoyed it more than any other game this year, and this was a good year.
*dismissive belch*
Reminder that if you've played with an English dub, then you've willingly gimped your experience.
The only objective thing here is your shit taste.
I want to fucking see what's happening during cutscenes, not glance down to read.
As someone with an unhealthy addiction to Cassandra Lee Morris, is the Japanese audio really a huge amount better?
Persona 3 is a big step down in visuals and gameplay, but I think the atmosphere of the story and character development is stronger overall.
>Good soundtrack, but it gets repetitive seeing as you'll be listening to most of the tracks for hours throughout a game.
Beneath the Mask never got old for me even after a 120 hour playthrough. Probably the only overworld music to not get on my nerves in an RPG.
Absolutely. Morgana's voice is delightful, just the right amount of cartoony and androginous without being too squeaky and annoying. The scenes where Ann is trying to (badly) act are super exaggerated in the dub, because her usual speech is already pretty overacted. Jouka's English dub is an edgelord, while the original is more smooth. I couldn't play too much with the dub, so there you have it.
>7.5
Yeah, I think the sound and aesthetic is amazing, but whenever I think of the story and characters interactions a lot of it was just, pretty good.
Not bad. Not incredible. A solid enjoyable game, but a little disappointing for long time Persona fans expecting something more.
Oh baby. I probably would have come back for another run anyway but this gives me a good reason to at least
Good luck, user. Wanna start a thread to name your Jouka?
When I did, he ended up being named Catch Catch.
>Catch Catch
was there some more specific story behind this or was it random?
It was something like "post ending in 62 is the first name, ending in 26 is the last"
6/10, should've came out when I was still a weeaboo faggot
>super exaggerated in the dub, because her usual speech is already pretty overacted
I notice that in most games with anime visuals the dubs tend to be overacted because CARTOONS LMAO, no matter the tone of the game.
Anything anime-related always has that sort of dub. No one in Japan actually talks like that.
I said no matter the tone of the game.
Nobody in US also talks like movie and game characters do.
Worst characters and stories ever. Which is a problem in a 150 hour game. Very disappointing as a long time fan, and the music and social links were ass. I'd give it an honest 4 or 5/10.
ur gay also a poopie head
What would you give P4 then?
Objectively the best in the series. It's a technical improvement on every level compared to P4, and P3 is nowhere close to being as great as you fags meme it to be thanks to its battle system that not even portable was able to fix properly. Of course that doesn't stop newfags from hating it and the regular jaded and cynical crowd here who already had their expectations set to max from the last game that was over a decade ago
A 7 or 8.
>This was our most anticipated game
Not even fucking close.
MGSV
KH3
Brawl
Dark Souls 2 / 3
were all more hotly anticipated on Sup Forums than P5.
It's still a fantastic game though. Flaws are pretty minor and the style/aesthetic is cohesive throughout every single aspect of the game.
Alright, so you were just shitposting then.
A fantastic game well worth the wait. I kinda wanna replay it for the music alone. But I can't justify spending another 80 hours on it when I have other shit to play.
>cohesive
