Sup Forums says a game is shit
pic not related
You first.
hello Sup Forumseddit
Why didn't Arkane just buy the rights to System Shock if they wanted to do a SS2 remake?
but this is one of few non-nintendo games that Sup Forums thinks is good
Explain to me how this game is bad. I thoroughly enjoyed it and thought it emulated -shock games perfectly.
because system shock is being remade
and system shock 3 is also in early development
not to mention arkane has no say in this, i doubt they even wanted to call it prey, but you gotta obey your bethesda overlords
I don't think I heard anyone say it was shit ever.
It looks shit. All the monsters look like the same black shadows and have no variety.
I loved this game. But it's made me want a game that's only the zero gravity sections. Flying around in space was fucking awesome
That one was a gigantic goty contender but hardly anyone even played it.
The retards that buy everything day 1 and race through the game thought it was shit.
desu I wasn't sold on it until I bothered to try the demo and picked it up for half off
best "immersive sim" since the original SS maybe a bit unfinished with things having to be removed for console brainlets
After it just released people were intent on shitting on it just like with most games. You couldn't have a normal thread most of the time because some triggered shitposter would come in and start posting dumb webms, fake info, how the game is short (if you go for the bad ending) and so on.
Arkane haven't made a good videogame since 2006. 12 years of no good games. Let them die and be forgotten.
It's not shit, it's just thoroughly mediocre.
>change the game title to fallout:Space
>pretend it is a spinoff of the fallout series
>every website would have gave it 9/10 and praised it as one of the top 5 games of this year
Arkane have never made a bad game
I never said they did, but DMoMM was fantastic while both Dishonored and NeoPrey are pretty shallow and meh.
dis gayme suckz cuz of grafic
Spent 40 hours on it and jsut finished first play through a couple hours ago.
As a jaded old-school gamer, I thoroughly enjoyed this.
Is factually correct.
I've played the shit out of dark messiah and know it like the back of my hand but it's their weakest linear game by far
The game does so many things great but at the same time nothing really stands out.
>introduce the "enemies could be anywhere! Keep your eyes open, they can turn into props!" gimmick as one of the key gameplay aspects
>fucking take it and put it all into trash by introducing combat music that immediately warns you of any danger
Not to mention that typhon AI is really bad and it usually just pops up the moment you walk nearby instead of trying to ambush you from behind and stab you in the back. The game is just ahalf-baked mess of poorly executed ideas that got slapped on top of a dead IP.
It has objectively
>better, more in-depth combat
>more varied enemy roster
and subjectively
>better level design
But OP the consensus for prey has always been good
it's impressive how awful the sound mixing is in this game
>Sup Forums says that it's one of the worst games ever made
>go in absolutely ready to hate it
>it's actually an immensely enjoyable and immersive experience
Fuck you Sup Forums
>they still haven't fixed npc voice volume
>REQUESTING NEW OPERATOR
But Sup Forums mostly loves witcher. The hottest new Sup Forums meme is to hate hard on soulshit since its such a contrarian thing to do now.
>fighting generic black blob monsters for the entire duration of the game
Pass.
>by introducing combat music that immediately warns you of any danger
get the pric mod breh, de-casualizes the game ui and turns off all the danger audio cues.
fun fact: old Sup Forums hated dark souls because it was inferior to demon souls in every way
It's a pretty good game. The small pool of enemies makes combat a bit repetitive but the varies ways to approach combat and the environment slightly makes up for it.
>just use mods bruh!
It says something about quality of the game when it has to be fixed with external programs. I am not saying that it cant be fun, but that definitely shows that Arkane fucked up there.
>fact
Sup Forums says it's good
nu-Sup Forums said it's shit
At least it can be fixed, I'll take the mods meme any day of the week if it enhances my enjoyment of the game and solves developer shortcomings over having no choice at all.
boring/easy
I think most of the Sup Forums agrees that this game is pretty good. I personally think if it was released any other year it might have been more popular.
blame consoles and focus testing with retards
just be glad It can be modified
The only people saying that game is shit are those that didn't play it and likely don't even know what genre it is.
They're just mad about Prey 2, some even think it's made by bethesda so they think they are blaming them by not buying it.
if this game was properly advertised as what it was it would have done better. but leave it to zenimax to advertise a shock style game as some dudebro shooter game and then wonder why people whined about it no weapons.
>It's okay when Obsidian does it
>He literally wants infinite spawning enemies to get free hits on the player in a game with limited items
Never design a game.
>a guard told them they couldn't
I wouldn't blame the player for that one. In a lot of games guards like that are actually used to indicate the bounds of the game world. It doesn't mean that the average player is retarded just that he's been conditioned by other games. It's like if a new Mario came out and B wasn't jump anymore. Most people would be confused as hell when they tried to jump for the first time.
i've hardly see anyone who hates demons, dark or bb, its mostly das2 and 3 and its warranted, ds2 nosedived in quality and das3 tried to rectify it but ultimately falls short
Why even hire brainlets to do game testing?
>in a game with limited items
you mean unlimited items.
There is a hard limit on items in the game, user.
>why even hire the sort of people that make up the vast majority of consumers you're hoping to sell your product to
WHO KNOWS
What's limited? On both typhon and human runs I never once felt like anything was limited. Human run was so easy because I made enough neuromods to buy all most every human skill in the game and never ran out weapon ammo or suit kits and with repair there's multiple fab station on every section of the station so there was never any danger of running out of anything.
Then remove one of the variables by either making enemies finite or making items infinite? The gimmick is much more important, its an interesting idea that just was not executed properly.
>free hits
Well maybe that will encourage you to be more attentive and vigilant? You know, like the game intended?
Why even market to brainlets?
>Why even make money?
This is effectively what you're asking
better than dishonored but still needs work
did it ever occur to you that maybe smart people know what's better for game design than stupid people and that the increased quality would mean better sales
Prey feels like a inconsistent clutter of ideas and visuals, almost like devs had checklist of everything that made System Shock or Deus Ex good, but never get the whole picture.
