Why should I go to the extra expense of buying a switch and its games when I can just use a phone and emulators out on the move for a superior library?

Because you wouldn't download a car.

>superior library

>the majority of SNES + NES + PS1 + PS2 + N64 + GC + Wii
>Along with the PC wargames ported to android and general android library added in
>Not to mention DOS emulation
>not superior to the switch's library.

Because you wouldn't be able to play breath of the wild, odyssey, or any of the other switch exclusives. Who do you think is playing the new consoles because of the vast library, you fucking autist?

Can't emulate Switch titles. Emulation is a great timekiller, but it'll be decades before you play Mario Odyssey on your phone.

Jesus Christ. Yes play games on your phone OP, you'll love it.

Played through Last Raven recently and I did, never got around to it before.

What's the best emulator in Android? I've tried retroarc and it's fucking complicated.

nobody hes saying the vast library beats out the bing bings and the yaa hyaas. wow reading comprehension much

Classicboy + PPSSPP + Dolphin really.
For PS2 emulation Play! is alright, but you can also consider doing a linux dual boot and running PCSX2 there although your mileage will vary considerably depending on your phone with this.

ppsspp is the best overall because its near flawless. dolphin runs some games great if your phones not shit. the rest are very debatable everyone seems to have their own favorite

>Superior library... Of Nintendo games
>While he insists nintendo is shit

Ok

-connecting this thing to a tv and playing it is troublesome and another expense and you'd have to have a separate bluetooth controller
-can't 4 player
-can't kino 'tendo titles
-becomes hot lava after 30 minutes of play
-ruins your battery
-limited to shitty mobile games and old as fuck emulators
-tiny screen
-more expensive than a switch if you want similar specs
-will look dumb as fuck connecting those joypads to your phone and using it on the bus

Show me one place where I insisted nintendo is shit.

>ps2 and GC emulators
>working on a phone
You crazy

yeah because past nintendo and current nintendo are clearly the same thing.

>Wii
>GC
>PS2

im playing soul calibur 2 right now on my phone. it runs perfectly

you can also get moonlight and stream your pc it works better than an nvidia shield

Some points are valid, just doing counter points.
+Most people have a smart TV already I'd say which makes life far easier in that regard
+Good point
+Can't do the latest ones, yes.
+Depends on the phone, works on my machine badge here. However a valid complaint.
+Using the switch ruins its battery, not really a point. At least to me
+There are some decent wargames on android now, but yes emulators make up the bulk of the library I use
+5-6" screen vs 6.2" for switch. Free shrugs.
+This is true, however that's presuming you don't have a phone to begin with. Snapdragon 820 will do older emulators okay, 821 and 835 will play with Dolphin and Play! nicely.
+I personally don't care if randoms think I look dumb as fuck. Anyone who cares about this won't play a switch in public.
Dolphin works well on Snapdragon 820+, which most people would have by now if I had to guess.

Jesus that’s honestly amazing

I'm not entirely against using phones, I just feel like Nintendo finally got it right with this handheld. The $299 price tag is very reasonable, when compared to the price you would pay if you planned on buying a phone for the same use. The Switch not only gives you more(currently), but will give you a lot more once it finally gets hacked.

But you right, if you already have a good phone, you could do big things with it.

I have a Bluetooth gamepad and the latency is killing me.
You also need to notify the fact that an emulator will drain the battery at turbo speed, disgaea on my honor 6x with PPSSPP is taking a lot of power.

Do any emulators let you play games online?

Yeah. New 821 phone + controller = about the same. However it's an 821, so ps2 emulation is iffy and even the more intense wii stuff will run around 30fps.

Thread is more about raising awareness desu.
Pretty much standard practice is the same as when you have a switch, aka carry a power bank with you if you want extended use.

Alright, so what's the best switch-like controller for a phone?

OP's ipega one?

>The switch is a "Portable" device
>Need a fucking power bank because it cost the same amount of power than a phone running a fucking emulator

LMAO at you nintendolard

yea I was blown away when i first installed didnt think itd work but I get alot of games working wonderfully. some huge games like wind waker stutter but I wouldnt bother playing a beatiful game like WW on a phone anyway

On the go cable, ps3 controller. Fuck all those shitty bluetooth controllers.

Can I use a PS4 controller instead + cable?

>What's the best emulator in Android? I've tried retroarc and it's fucking complicated.

I fucking hate Retroarch, just a pain in the ass to set up and stay on top of

I'm the guy in favour of phone emulators though, user.
Switch is pretty portable though, at least with my tests using a friend's.

When did he say Nintendo is shit lol

Now that I'm used to retroarch retarded layout and option it's kinda hard for me to move on.

I know it's shit but there's a shitload of option, and it would feel like a loss to leave after learning how to use that fucking mess of a program.

Forgot pic: my gamepad.

It's good except for the cancer tier L2 and R2 button, which are ultra sensibles. I always turn them off.

For fuck's sake

Where's his mask? Isn't he in pain?

I've used Retroarch on iPhone, PC etc.

If I was using it all the time, the way Retroarch works would stay fresh in my mind. It's just a fucking pain to have separate control schemes, filters, for each plugin or emulator. Then the hassle of correct folder paths.

I'm not even convinced having every retro machine under "one roof" is the best approach.

In my opinion Retroarch has been a negative overall for the emulation scene, I think more people would be into it, had a better one stop solution emerged a few years ago.

To be honest I only use it because I have a Chinese Google cardboard.
Retroarch is the only emulator with 3d settings I found.

Tfw the n64 library is so small you can keep the entire thing on your phone easily.
