Why is this game considered bad again?
Why is this game considered bad again?
because nuclear throne is better
for a bullet-hell game it's ironically really slow
Its not bad once you get whats what.
Console players have and advantage with bigger camera FOV and auto aim so use that.
NT is just much better. Gungeon is like slower version of NT
>the slow = bad meme
It really gets grind especially before you get to afford weapon unlocks.
It took me a while to realize that I can repair the elevator and from then on the game is a breeze really.
One of the big issues I have is the lack of synergy between items/characters.
In Isaac you can get stupid shit like brimstone and tiny moon, etc.
In NT your mutations can either synergize with your character or weapons.
In Gungeon you get a handful of shit guns and a few passives that hardly benefit you.
>ammo forcing you to use shit starting gun
>trash nemies get increased health per floor making your shit starting gun usage tedious as fuck
>no noticable synergies
>oversized as fuck rooms
That's what I can think off the top of my head
it is?
I´ve been playing a few runs on the switch every day in bed before going to sleep for a while now and I really like it
Just use the Marine he is the strongest of them all.
Once you get the Bullet its even better.
Synergies almost have absolutely no use at the game but I keep seeing people calming 10 synergies per session Ive never had more than 5 in 300 deaths.
Its a well known fact that nintendofans automatically like anything when its on a nintendo console. Your opinion is irrelevant.
It's not bad it's just not balanced properly. The floors should be 4-5 rooms shorter. Most enemies are bullet sponges. There's not much enemy variety, not many interesting synergies either. I really wanted to love ETG but it's wasted potential. BoI and Nuclear Throne just do everything ETG does but better.
Honeymoon phase. For a rogue lite or whatever you want to call it there isn't much content.
I actually pirated and agreed with you at one point, then I came back to it later and it "clicked". When you get lots of bullet synergies it is fun as fuck
And the RNG was broken as fuck when the game released. Not to mention some of the guns you get are actually worse than the starting pistol.
There was little to no reward for actually playing well. Isaac may be a weirdo gross game, but at least the items were interesting.
Weapon pool is polluted by redundant and useless guns. Item pool lacks interesting synergies. Enemies are spongy, making the first few floors tedious as fuck once you know what you're doing.
Runs just don't feel unique at all--which is a big fucking problem for a dungeon crawler/roguelike--and the bullet hell elements aren't particularly challenging.
Being rewarded with health for no-hitting a boss is dumb. The player should just be given an item or the weapon quality should be bumped up a grade--this would help keep runs interesting once you've mastered the early bosses and encourage the player to get better at dodging.
Floors/rooms are huge for no good reason. Traversal just takes too long, even with the teleporters.
It's harder and slower-paced than the other two noteworthy twinstick roguelites
And that makes some people VERY angry, especially islami salami apologists
It's been a while since I played it, so maybe things have changed, but I remember it being very RNG dependent, as well as personally feeling like there was a lack of progress to be made in the game.
Like, when you purchase a gun in the store, it's not a gun you start out with when you play next, it just gives you the /chance/ for that gun to show up in chests throughout the level.
I remember reaching a point where, if on the first level, I didn't get a good gun, I'd just reset, because what was the point?
Oh, and also, because of all this bullshit, you 90% of the time use your pistol until the later levels, meaning there's a considerably less amount of variety you'll be playing with on a practical level. You might see a neat gun, but you need to save that for when things get tough.
It's not hard. There wasn't a single boss that took me longer than two runs to master, and it was usually a single trick that did it, like staying on one side of Wallmonger or sticking to the wall during the High Priests invulnerable phase. That's part of the issue. You can master the game, but you are still at the mercy of the RNG with regard to the amount of time you'll spend on any given boss. No-hitting Treadnaught is EZPZ, but it gets really fucking tedious when all you have is a t-shirt cannon or a pea shooter.
yes, this game is a bad meme. even though it got shilled HARD and had tons of streamers being paid to play it at release nobody ended up caring. hell most of those paid streamers dropped it after like 3 days because it's just so fucking dull
No content not enough variety for a game like this
literally what
It sorta peaks at Opening.
Unless you git gud, and beat all those Metal Gear Solid/Nokia bosses.
Its just really really bland between the bosses, so the gameplay loop is sorta stale.
Not enough synergies, hopefully the next content update fixes that.
Other than that, it's a pretty gud game. People who complain about damage sponges need to get their attention spans repaired from playing too much Nuclear Throne, where enemies have no HP and you can mow down dozens in a few seconds once you're in Loop 1.
