Defend this piece of shit
It introduced the rumble pack, which is a game changer
Second console I ever owned and yes, that controller was a piece of shit.
>take care of your shit!
>all joysticks wear out eventually!
DualShock, GameCube, and Xbox joysticks will all work today, the N64 joystick wore out within the console's life cycle on at least four of my controllers. One was so bad that Link could no longer run any more in OoT/MM.
>piece of shit
that is a N64 controller you fucking retard
I was born with 3 hands.
>3 handles
>humans only have 2 arms
It becomes controller kino if you replace the joystick with a gamecube joystick.
i get that you're hopelessly biased having grown up with one in your hand, but that doesn't mean that it's the greatest controller ever made
other than the stick wearing out (fuck you mario party) there isn't really anything wrong with it
No, how about you state your problem with it instead? You know, without looking like a retard.
it's not comfortable to have your hands that close together at such a weird angle, and the analog stick is very low quality. the saturn analog pad and the dualshock don't have those problems
I use one almost every day as a fidget toy and it's good for hands/finger exercises
I have three hands, so it's perfect for me.
Based terrorist speaking the truth
At least it was fixable.
The only issue is that the joystick was a piece of shit.
>take snes controller
>add 2 extra buttons
>add a joy stick and extra trigger
It was designed to be able to play 2 d games with the d pad and 3d games with the joy stick. Other than the shitty joy stick their only real fault was not understanding the total fucking meme that is 3d gaming when designing the controller
The gamecube controller is even worse.
The only reason anyone defends it is because Smash autists can exploit glitches with broken controllers to L-cancel, dashdance and autismhop more easily.
When I first used one, I used the joystick with my right hand and kept my left hand in the d-pad area. My first and only game on it for a while was GoldenEye because it came with my N64. So I never needed to use the c-buttons because the auto-aim was pretty heavy and you could use L to aim too I think. For opening doors and reloading, A and B weren't that hard to reach over to hit. To me, it just seemed normal that I use the controller's trigger with my right hand, like a right handed person would use a gun IRL. I corrected it eventually though as I got more games, obviously by OoT I was holding it the right way because of the C-button items.
get good lmao
If you hate it so much, why make a thread about it?
That one and the Dreamcast controlers were utter crap.
At least the analog stick had a snappy feeling to it.
People are too retarded to learn how to grab something in a way they find comfortable, especially something that they have held for hours.
This disappoints me more than it should.
The handles on the n64 controller are the only ones that fit my massive hands.
No other controller has ever been so comfortable except for the ps3 boomerang
The Gamecube controller fits my hand like a glove, so it's hard to argue that it's bad when I can go hours and hours without cramping up. Meanwhile when I'm clawing with the dualshock my hands hurt after a while. The odd thing is there are retards here who legitimately thinking clawing is great. I can only assume they're crabs disguised as people posting on this board.
snippity sna- I mean, lmao, look at this casual who can't crab.
For people with OCD, this ctrlr was the thing of nightmares.
Anyone who says their clamps get cramped up by the dualshock is full of shit. The clamps love it.
