Alm’s entire campaign became part of a grand plan set in motion by Emperor Rudolf to prepare for this. Meanwhile the fags at the priory taught her that Milla could do no wrong and since they were just as clueless as the Duma Faithful about their gods.

Celica was supposed to fail and carried out her character fine. The real fault is that the player is too omniscient about what’s going on in act 4 so they see Celica do seemingly stupid shit without realizing that for all Celica knew, if she saved Milla then everything would be okay.

You're far more likely to see supports in fe4 than fe6 due to how the gba ones unlocked, especially with 6 having a limit on how much they could grow per chapter, as for the comparison it would be far more fair if you compared it to to the tutorial in FE6, or chapter 1 in FE7

Part of me thinks that they wanted to really flesh out Alm's character("I'LL KILL THOSE BASTARDS" was literally it) and they went too apeshit with it by making him save puppet Celica in the end. It's not like it didn't have its merits though, since the scene where Alm goes nuclear after the fight with Rudolf is legitimately kino. It really shows how Alm has grown as a character since act 1.

It's impractical to skip Lyn's chapters because it nerfs all of the characters in it. By skipping it, you have to have decided not to use any of those characters - a quarter or so of your roster. I actually think it's around 30%, but regardless.

FE6's tutorial is leagues better, but I doubt anybody would argue against that.
