That doesnt look like a VHS player and a coax cable
Pretty sure you meant to post something like this, bub.
took this with me whenever i got dragged into vacations to stay in somewhere for a week. a big help since it was needed almost all the time.
What the fuck is a VHS cable
What channel was your game channel Sup Forums?
>rf peasants
Absolutely disgusting.
4 because I'm a hipster
Pretty sure most people used a VCR
>he didn't have a Trinitron
What's your excuse?
i didnt stay at many places that had VCRs, at least in any of the bedrooms.
>tfw you start using proper RGB SCART cables instead of shitty composite adapters, getting the absolute best picture quality possible from your CRT
>tfw you play a DVD on your PS2 and find out about the built-in DRM
Scart is better for quality, i'd rather have a scart over composite
OMG I remember doing that shit. Christ it makes me feel old.
> coax cable from VCR to TV
> composite into VCR
> image quality a shit, but haven't even grown pubes yet so didn't care
Much more innocent times.
>Europe
>crystal clear PAL picture transmitted by high quality SCART cable
>Burgerland
>muddy NTSC with bleeding colors, going through RCA cables originally designed for grammophones
Can Americans ever recover?
>games runs 17% slower
Yuropoors, not even once
>game has bugs preventing you from truly finishing the game
PAL not even once. Nocturne got ruined for them.
yeah, 60hertz.
I wish I at least still had any of my old family CRT TVs...
mentioning trinitron is only excusable if you're talking about pic related. Otherwise you can just say CRT since they're all of the same quality
Gotta go fast
Er
Holy shit Europoors kys
Where did you find yours? I've been looking for one since forever.
Hello, I am a Yurofag. I took 15 minutes to add a region switch to my Mega Drive, and now I can play Sonic in 60hz over SCART, also giving me RGB on any european TV set. Good luck finding a PVM, my american friend!
idk leave me alone
Even consumer Trinitrons were better than the competition until like 1996 when the patent expired
Gibe me one pls
gib
try getting a little one, preferably a newer one made just when they were about to be discontinued in favor of LCD HDTVs.
my old roommates' friend gave me his because he knew I was a retro gamer who didn't give no fucks about age (at the time).
there was a time when CRTs were the sort of thing people would give away for free because they were too fucking big and incompatible with the new shit. you might still be able to find someone looking to ditch their old one if you talk to 'em right
I grew up with an ancient CRT from an old camper trailer we had that only had RF, so I even had to get an RF modulator once I got N64.
Not him but I got mine off eBay for 50€(germany).
I am beyond pleased with it.
Better than my old crt.
>channel
I forgot this was a thing.
except I only recall changing channels to use the vcr to rewatch disney movies and mortal kombat.
This is misleading. Eurofags have it easy when it comes to getting broadcast monitors bc idiots actually post them on eBay for like 10 cents. In the US they've all been poached and are at minimum $150 for a 14 inch
True, but they are learning it seems, I've seen a lot of them hovering at prices around 200-300€.
I waited until a good deal showed up. So I kinda got lucky.
I did until it died and then i got a converter box for $4.
It has S-Video so im going to try and get my old optiplex to work with it for the ultimate impractical HTPC.
>tfw cousin had to use RF connector and VCR contraption
I know that feel.
There was also a time in which I had to use pic related in 2006
tfw 50hz TV
only being able to play 50hz games was suffering.
>tfw 32 years old
it's the opposite friendo. RCA was the older tech and RGB scart was newer and better.
Jesus christ how did games with voice acting not sound retarded?
