Can't buy another game until I plat the one in front of me

>Can't buy another game until I plat the one in front of me

Is this a good rule or is it a fasttrack to burning out?

I guess it saves you money and makes sure you play all the value a game has depending on the trophies.

Until you find yourself wasting time trying to beat a game that you don't actually enjoy, it's a good system.

If it turns out that you could have been playing a better game -- congratulations, that better game is probably cheaper now because you waited.

>buy a game
>it doesn't have a plat
>give up video games forever

Too strict, you will burn out quickly. I say don't get a new game until you beat the main story + any side stuff you want to do.

*spends an extra 30 hours per game doing tedious shit to fill out a random task-sheet*

On the fence, first game up is zero dawn horizon and it's not unenjoyable but it feels like I've exhausted this sjw fantasy game filled with plotholes,

that's my thinking I drop 50+$ on this stuff so I need to get my moneys worth

Better than buying loads of games and then playing 1 like me

That's how my steam looks, I think I have around 80 games and played maybe 10

>50+$

Don't console games ever go on sale?

That's nothing. I have over 500 games and I've played about 200 of them. (Most of it is bundles, though. Buy one good game, get half a dozen shitty ones. I don't mind the clutter. Sometimes the shitty ones end up being fun for a couple of hours.)

>buy game
>play it to plat
>immense feeling of accomplishment looking at trophy site with 100% and little plat trophy
>DLC released a few months later
>trophy site says only have 78% complete
>more DLC comes out later dropping percentage lower and lower
>don't want the DLC but feel obligated
>lose interest halfway through DLC
>avoid looking at game on trophy list now

What's her name Sup Forums?

Too many games to play. I don't even bother getting plats.

skyrim:dragonborn

for me it's Dawnguard

All the time. You can buy a bunch cheap online.

What about online trophies with dead servers?

Sound Shapes, they released like 12 DLC packs that had almost 0 content. Fuck you Sony

>What's her name Sup Forums?
ff15 as well, although I never bought the dlc because it never gets on sale.

>not bonding with serana and getting every achievement as a byproduct

>bond with Serana
>somehow that makes you level 78+ and forcing Legendary dragons to spawn instead of Revered with their abysmal 1% spawn rate

kill a legendary dragon trophy?

It's a pretty bad rule since platinums mostly involve bullshit busywork requiring strategy guides.

Heh

What level were you at end game or were you creating new characters as you played?

Dude there’s a work around. Resign a 100% completed save and even if you dont have the dlc upload the resigned save to the cloud and then download it you’ll get all trophies

vampire perk tree
I became a werewolf instead

>Is this a good rule or is it a fasttrack to burning out?

Depends on the game of course.

Some games are really short and easy to get platnums or 100% it, like:

>Uncharted series
>God of war collection
>Not a Hero

Some can take a shitload of time due to it being extenjsive games or having a ungodly amount of stuff to collect:

>Red Faction Guerrilla
>Mafia 2
>Borderlands series.
>infamous

Some are impossible to get due to multiplayer trophies(either being because no one plays it or the game servers being dead) or have some really specific conditions:

>Kane and Lych 2 (no one plays the MP and the downloadable version of the game can't play with the physical version players)
>Rockstar games
>Borderlands: the pre-sequel (requires a shitload of RNG, idk how i got mine)

It really depends on how much you can put up with a game.

This.

It’s a good idea to have just one real ”main game” to complete at once (of course excluding multiplayer games and those regulars you play every once in while), but getting platinum trophies or achieving 100% in-game completion is usually just a series of tedious, repetitive tasks that will burn you out very soon. Just choose a game to play, aim to complete its main story, drop it if it feels boring, keep on with post-game content only if it truly seems worth it.

Yea that was the last one I got, doesn't help that vamp lord is more boring than werewolf and takes longer to level.

>Is this a good rule or is it a fasttrack to burning out?
Nah, it's dumb as fuck. Why would you waste the time to plat a game you don't like that much? Plat games you love, if it's just alright, fuck that, just beat the game, and move along, fuck the cheevos.

All of 'em.
