It's very cute and has a lot of personality and a good soundtrack but if you're the kind of autist who's predisposed to see everything as tumblr it'll probably irritate you

I don’t care about how tumblr it is or the visuals. While the music is a nice perk, I only really particularly care about the story. Is it heavy or not? Is it any good?

There's nothing much in the way of gameplay, its basically "Cozy: The Game"

I've been interested in the game for a while but after hearing from fans about the supposedly abysmal ending and the events leading up to it ive decided id either wait till its on sale for 10 dollars on steam or pirate it when ive finished my very big backlog, which ever comes first.

If you're not already put off by something that definitely qualifies as more story than game you should enjoy it. I guess you could just watch a full play through on YouTube and get the same experience if you really didn't want to pay.
I myself thought it was alright up until the ending, it just comes out of nowhere with no real closure to the story and it left me feeling pretty unsatisfied because of just that.

hated undertale loved lisa, i expected to hate this one too but it actually was only new game i finished in 2017, i played trough bloodborne 6 times last year.

Ten dollars would be a fair price, I'm surprised it's not already dropped to that honestly.

Never finished my save before the "weird" edition came out, so it is worth restarting? Wasn't that far into it, maybe I got to chapter 2?

I feel it is. I saw it for 15$ on steam and was like, "meh.... I could get supposedly better games like doom or rayman legends for that price" I wasnt sure if night in the woods wouldve given me enough replay ability for 15 dollars and given thats more story focused than gameplay just made me decide its best I keep holding it off

The story is really good, although the ending is kind of rushed IMO. It's kind of a slow burn. Most of the game is just going through each day, talking to the locals, hanging out with friends, shit like that. It's realyl comfy and the characters are well-written and memorable. Mae is a very relatable protagonist. She's kind of hard to like sometimes, but that makes her feel like a very real person. It's probably my second favorite game of last year behind Pyre.

As someone who lived in the middle of nowhere it feels like a story written by someone who lived in a metropolitan suburb their whole life and doesn't know what life is like outside of that. The whole thing felt very fake and since it is basically a VN with no actual gameplay I wouldn't recommend
