Petscop 12
Sure... just like Polybius.
5 minutes im on the channel and I can already say it's by this dude
I'd play Petscop if it existed.
My greatest pleasure is how each and every video is putting Game Theory further and further on suicide watch.
How so?
I've completely lost track of what's happening in this series at this point.
Will still watch it anyway though, it's actually a little bit spoopy/discomforting.
Because he essentially thought the story would end now that we'd concluded it was all the Newmaker-kid crap, but the two latest episodes have shown that it was just the peak of the iceberg. Making MatPat very very wrong.
It's pretty solid, and the guy who made it is technically skilled enough to program a surprisingly realistic PS1 game.
Sadly, I'm a little bit too much of a brainlet to "get it" without some YouTuber explaining it to me though.
Polygons aren't warping. Text is too high res.
Polygons do warp when he's in motion. House textures are all over the place. Text isn't higher res than other PS1 text.
There is something about unreleased/ very very rare (to the point that no footage really exist of it) games that just really interest me. Even with Grimoire finally out I still love reading all the shitposting. The wonder and mystery of it all is just great. I just hope petscop doesnt go to shit and end with a "lol ghost in game are free thanks!" Cop out. The whole thing about the windmill seems strange. The way he keeps censoring things is strange as well.
It absolutely is. It's a pretty interesting series though. Though I suspect it's going to have a shit ending.
I'm feeling the "le ghosts xD" thing is pretty used up at this point, so I doubt he'll go that route. That being said, it'll probably be some weird meta-narrative about a real-life murder the creator of the game is confessing to or something.
That being said, in P11 especially, you can see that there's another guy moving around which is clearly not an NPC. If that character turns out to be a ghost or demon or something I'll be really disheartened.
I love how the sprites are distinctly characteristic of late 2010s indie games. Somehow this only recently discovered game pioneered that style way back in 1997. Truly impressive that people believe this shit and don't realize it's marketing for an upcoming spooky youtube game of the week
Honestly, I kinda' wish they'd take a step back to the way things were in the first few videos.
Bright and colorful.
Creating an "unnerving" tension while in an endless black underground void isn't difficult. Stimulating real dread and uncanniness in a bright sunshine world is what's difficult and would have shown a much deeper understanding of the concept.
That being said, I still find it cool that Sup Forums was the place this little ARG-thing was announced.
this isn't doki doki
Got any proof for that?
I suspect that's what it's going to be. A ghost trapped inside the game. Episode 12 seems to imply that "Belle" is wondering around in the game for 17 years. Atleast that's what I got out of it. Pretty lame if that's the idea.
shit keeps throwing more questions in without answers and it's gonna end like lost did
so far they've been leaving room for non-supernatural explanations for censoring (personal data they don't want to share) and the demo shit (moves recorded in advance by someone the dev / someone before Paul) but the second it goes time travel or ghosts i'm fucking OUT
they're good for summaries that you can then just come up with your own, less shitty (see above) ideas of what's going on
MatPat is always fucking wrong.
>Sup Forums meets /x/
There are the best crossover threads.
Got any proof that it's real?
Petscop started out as a pretty interesting ARG/creepypasta and it's cool that the guy actually made a game to go along with it, but the story is starting to shit itself with the "OMG guis the game is liek real life!!!"
Doesn't mean I'm not going to enjoy it!
Well I mean I am too. But that's not the point.
Fair enough.
What is, the game? That's irrelevant
> It's a pretty interesting series though
No it's not, it's a terrible lazy creepypasta that thinks it is smart because it causes expecaculation about external references (like when shitty horror movies say "inspired on true events"), but the dickweed writing it is too retarded to make it subtle, tense, dramatic or atmospheric.
Relying in a twist with weak effect that is milked to death with no reason And is poorly acted as fuck
>See thing out of usual
>Ignores it
No one's arguing it's real though, are they? It's a made up game, by a made up company with made up people in it.
Of course it's not "real".
>lazy
I'm pretty sure anyone who builds a 3D interactive world to tell a story from the ground up isn't exactly "lazy".
Some people are, yeah.
Man these videos always fill me with so much tension while watching them.
So Belle AKA Tiara is the quitter?
already calling it, because it says demo when the game is on and talking to belle/tiara, essentially what's happening here is that tiara/belle is someone stuck in the game or some gay shit. the game designer or whomever having left messages in the game to communicate with whoever it is. the messages also point out that the games been running for little over 20 years or so. wonder what that has to do with it.
