When is the bloat of video game installs going to stop?
I have a 1TB SSD but I still can't have more than a handful of games installed at a time because every fucking game is 50GB these days. I just reinstalled GTA5 and it's 73GB as it exists in 2018. Even if you have fast internet, if you ever need to redownload all your shit you'll be there for 24 hours at a minimum, downloading 500GB+ of games isn't a fast process.

Even if you have fast CD drive, if you ever need to reinstall all your shit you'll be there for 24 hours at a minimum, copying 2 GB+ of games isn't a fast process.

This is the problem with constantly increasing storage and processing power, people just think "oh cool all this extra space, now we don't have to work as hard" and in the end the new shit takes up the same proportion of space as the old shit.
It's naive you don't think they do it on purpose so you can buy less games and spend money on the games you have. Publishers don't want to make more games, if one game can print the same money as 10 games they will go with the one game.

There's nothing to solve, it's an intentional anti-piracy measure.
They assume a given pirate is too poor for the internet speed or HDD space required, forgetting that compressed repacks exist.
It's better to have larger filesizes than longer load times, because when something is compressed it needs to be decompressed every time you start the game, and everyone has plenty of harddrive space now
