What are emulating, Sup Forums?
What are emulating, Sup Forums?
Persona 3 Portable
Battlefront 2 PSP on my Vita.
Not sure if 'emulating' is the right word in my case though.
The Silent Hill games were the last games I was emulating.
what the fuck is that creature
Mega Man 3
these replay stages are killing me
also Protoman is the best
Bayenetta 2.
And Battle toads Arcade.
Gona finally start the Ark the lad games next.
>there's nothing running on epsxe
Disappointing
I was emulating Kirby's Dream Land 3, but now I've finished it
I set up Mupen64 to play Kirby 64, but I don't think i'm going to jump straight into it
Elite Beat Agents
Good taste
I beat TWEWY a week ago. Haven't done any post-game stuff though.
Fate/EXTRA
Can someone explain how the fuck I'm meant to run Alpha Sapphire? I've followed the YouTube tutorial to the letter but I only get endless errors when I try to load it. It's the only game I want to play dammit
We love Katamari on PS2.
VERY GOOD GAME.
Download a GBA emulator and Pokemon Emerald. That's how. If you're interested in the extra content, just watch a video on youtube it's not worth the headache.
DS:Soul Hackers
Nothing I have an AMD processor
some old fighting games with a friend like mortal kombat or street fighter
i always win
Happiness
Domingo, from Shining Force
Phantasy Star.
Which of these should I emulate after I'm done?
MoH Underground, pretty fun. I'm most excited for the north african levels, a pretty unexplored ww2 theatre in vidya.
Diddy's Kong Quest if you haven't played it before.
Sonic advance 2
>emulating
Disgusting. I played some Warioware twisted yesterday, and some Steel Battalion this morning. Good luck emulating those, guys.
But can you play Initial D 6-7? I don't think so fag.
Why would you fucking want to? The series died with 4, dude, everything past that is far too arcadey and on-rails to be fun.
Monster Hunter Portable 3rd and FU
4 can also be emulated with RPCS3
Or you could just plug in your PS3. 4 and 3 both got home releases with extra content.
Now, when someone cracks Taiko and gets it running on RPCS3, I'll come running. Until then, that emulator is worthless.
The emulator is worthless until it can play Gran Turismo 5/6 and MGS4.
>this emulator is useless unless i can play the games i personally like
WarioWare Twisted works just like the original cartridge on the Vita and on some smartphones.
All emulators are fundamentally worthless unless they can be used to play games that are otherwise prohibitively expensive. Lots of arcade hardware was based on home consoles, it's not too hard to spoof a few I/O boards if they didn't go too far from the mold.
Hell, the original Xbox can even play some arcade games based on Chihiro.
Does the Vita even have vibration? Twisted without vibration is the saddest thing I can imagine, and the piddly little motor you get in a smartphone isn't even half the size of the one in the cart.
Pic related for me, Resident Evil 3 when my wife is available to watch, and she herself is playing Initial D 7.
Emulation is for preservation first everything else second, all consoles/arcade PCBs will become extremely expensive one day.
...
fuck i misposted without adding text like a retard
>not blocking gookmoot's ads
>>Emulation is for preservation first
Nice joke, 95% of emulators have absolutely zero interest in preservation. Preservation implies accuracy, what's the point in preserving something in a buggy state? And yet most emulators are HLE, and rely on game-specific hacks.
Actual preservation based emulation only comes about a few decades on, when computers get fast enough for LLE.
>Nice joke, 95% of emulators have absolutely zero interest in preservation. Preservation implies accuracy
And accuracy takes time, you can't expect the first emulator for a console to come around to be cycle accurate.
I'm a good boy who knows if this site disappeared I won't know what to do with myself.
Close to half of my lifespan, I've been coming to Sup Forums.
Plus the ads have that "he died and nobody said a word" thing that makes great shitpost material.
Beyond the Beyond
While the puzzles are complete ass I'm glad to finally be getting around to it due to all the Shining Force callbacks and other Camelot trends
That said, Domingo is perfection, fine taste OP
Absolutely Dawn of Ys- if not immediately, then eventually
Unless you've never played an Ys before, but I can only assume you've at least played I&II if you're even considering it, in which case go for it because it's the pinnacle of the bump system
>>And accuracy takes time, you can't expect the first emulator for a console to come around to be cycle accurate.
Accuracy doesn't take time. Waiting for computers to actually get good enough for emulation to be feasible takes time.
You'll notice that the decades of work that went into programs like ZSNES and ePSXe have made absolutely zero impact on the progression of Higan and MEDNAFEN, which were built from the ground up instead of trying to rely on buggy gibberish written 20 years prior. Those emulators never had even the slightest care of accuracy, or they would have never been made. All that matters to HLE scum is "does the game hang" and "does it look like dogshit". If both those conditions are passed, then their work is done, and now some poor children in Brazil can play Mario.
Streaming a Pokemon Heart Gold romhack Nuzlocke for some friends.
Ps3 Dragon's Crown. I was thinking about trying some 3ds games, but Citra looks like a pain in the ass to set up.
I've been emulating Smash 4 to try out the Melee HD mod. IT's cool but then I remember that I have no friends to play with and only fight CPUs.
I've played Ys Book I & II, Wanderers, Oath, Origin, and Seven. Fucking excellent series, love it to pieces. Not only that, but I have a special fondness for the PC-Engine games, largely due to their versions of the soundtracks, which I even prefer to the more hi-fi remake OSTs.
>Preservation implies accuracy
maybe to an autist. preservation to 99% means you can play it.
Oh, yeah, definitely get into Dawn ASAP then
Of other versions of 4, Celceta isn't quite as good but is still decent and maybe worth checking out eventually, same with Mask of the Sun just for the oddity of what different developers did with the same premise/concept, but Dawn is the king by far
Granted, it's longer than most of the others you listed, but I guarantee you won't be disappointed once you get around to it
Also there's a fanmade dub for it floating around that shouldn't be too difficult to find if you're into that
Need to set some time aside to hack the SNES Classic Mini.
Also trying to find a user for my year-old RasPi.
Yeah, it's patched with the translation and dub ready to go. Actually the dub is something else I have a soft spot for with I & II. It's actually shockingly good for its era, given how even anime dubbing wasn't known for its high standard of quality at that point in time, to say nothing of video games. Too bad Wanderers' dub is garbage. I'm certainly interested to see how a fanmade dub stacks up.
I could emulate Twisted on my desktop. Can't remember if I had to fiddle with the controls or if the emulator/ROM came with a workaround.
Any way to disable save states and fast forward on snes9x? It's so tempting to use them, especially fast forward in FE4
I found that prepatched iso on isozone but for some reason I cant run it in mednafen
Unless you found another one
Monster Hunter XX
super mario world, pretty good game
Just finished Persona 3 and 4 last year.
Anyone got recommendations? Something more story based and preferably less grindy? (though emulator double speed button really helped with it)
Mesen is the best NES emulator.
Pokemon firered on my phone
final fantasy v ancient cave
its a romhack that adds a 100 floor dungeon, each floor is a random area from the game. you start at lv1 with no jobs and shitty equipment. all chests have random loot, can contain equipment, a job, magic or an item. enemies scale by floor and each floor has a timelimit except boss floors.
its really hard since there is no saving, managed to clear it on my 8th try. final boss is FFIV zeromus, they even have his music
it's called having some self control.
Disable them from the hotkey configuration.
Mars Matrix (Dreamcast)
I had a DC when it came out but I guess I missed this one. Heard it was pretty good
