Scripted boss fight where you are supposed to lose

>Scripted boss fight where you are supposed to lose
>Manage to win somehow
>Game calls you a cheater and gives you a game over

>scripted boss fight where you are supposed to win
>manage to lose somehow
>game still treats it as if you won

>Scripted boss fight where you are supposed to lose
>Manage to win somehow
>Game's plot changes

>boss fight where you're supposed to run
>game never taught you the run command

Disgaea is best

name two games

>normal boss fight where you are supposed to win
>lose in the cutscene afterwards anyway

Getting real tired of your shit Japan.

>Boss fight where you are supposed to lose
>>Manage to win somehow
>Get a very strong sword that you will use in the next six dungeons and is useful for other things, too.

>final boss is literally unbeatable and requires you to survive to run away

PriPri was pree good

>Grind for six years to beat the boss that you're supposed to lose to
>Boss becomes a party member later on
>Level six with basic equipment and no skills

Thanks Obama

>scripted boss fight where you are supposed to lose
>manage to win through pure, unadulterated fucking skill
>game ends and basically shits all over the plot
>become the villain

>boss is easy as shit
>lose in cutscene

Disgaea and WWE No Mercy

>OP ass character joins your party early on
>quickly gets killed off by an antagonist you fight later in the game

>scripted manage fight where you are supposed to game
>win to fight somehow
>lose still treats it as if you game

Pripri game when

>Beat boss when you are supposed to lose
>Get game over

disgusting

>skip cutscene before boss fight where you move into center of arena
>you are in advantage due to your starting position

Damn right lads. Second season when?

What would you choose for a PriPri game?
Persona like school days with missions at night
Explorable steam punk London with the wall
Gravity Rush style corvorite mechanics
Stealth ARPG?

Thats one of the most stupid thing you can find in rpgs

this was the best way to handle winning a boss battle where you're supposed to let the boss win
what are some other games that actually acknowledge your breaking the plot with a gag ending before kicking you back out to do it right?

>Boss is hyped throughout the entire game until you reach him
>Kill him in one turn
>Oh, it must be a multiple phase boss battle or a fake out
>It isn't
>He's just that fucking weak
>Expect him to show up again later
>Keep playing game in expectation
>Nope, he was just fucking dead for good and the game ends without anyone ever mentioning him again

>scripted boss fight where you are supposed to lose
>manage to win somehow
>dialogue changes and boss acknowledges how strong you are, but oneshots you in a new cutscene
>everything plays out like it normally would after

better than nothing

>Gravity Rush
Holy shit the setting in GR1 was this show to a tee

>boss is easy as shit
>party member "sacrifices" themselves to defeat them

>Scripted boss fight where you are supposed to lose
>Manage to win somehow
>Game treats you as a cheater

Tales of Destiny 2
Chrono Trigger

Balion and Sunder fight in BoF III

There is a mobage though.

>Die on what seemed like a generic fight.
>You end up capture instead

I'll never not be mad about Fallout 3. It wasn't even a boss fight that did this, it was an endgame """choice""".

Fuck uncharted 4.

>hyped up boss is ridiculously easy
>turns up he was purposefully trained wrong, as a joke

source

>start fight
>bad guy attacks first
>uses his big ultimate super mega ultra move with a long animation
>oneshots entire team
>figure it was a scripted ba-
>GAME OVER

Tales of Symphonia

>Scripted boss fight where you are supposed to lose
>Manage to win somehow
>You've created a Time Paradox!

>scripted boss fight you are supposed to lose
>no indication of this
>use your health potions and other items because it seems winnable

>Game where your character is a seasoned hero
>You are credited for doing things you accomplished within a group of other players as if you did them on your own
>Things including but not limited to: defeating huge monsters, hordes of bandits, assassins, infiltrating enemy bases and blowing them up, killing gods

>Later cut-scenes have your character surrender when surrounded by 5 human guards
>Cut-scenes where an ally is wounded don't trust you to have healing items or spells, even if you picked a healer class

The body double thing started getting confusing at the end.

xenogears

>Boss is kicking your ass
>Figure it's scripted and you're supposed to lose
>Game Over

What game?

>game has healing spells
>character who are wounded in cut scenes don't use healing spells to heal their injuries

I've done this in a couple of games.
I can't remember if I was under leveled or bad.

>2nd game in the series
>all the characters are back at level 1 with basic abilities

Are you fucking sourcing or not?

Reminder that Fireteam Crimson is the second strongest SPARTAN in the SPARTAN 4 program.

I had FFXIV in mind when writing this but cut-scene bullshitery is nothing new

...

>Scripted boss fight where you are supposed to lose
>Scrape by on the skin of your teeth, using all your healing items and consumables
>Game doesn't restore them at the end of the fight

>boss theme starts in the cutscene before the actual fight

brainlet

You god damn double dog nigger.

>Boss fight you lose no matter what because you can't actually do damage
>Playing NG+ with your end game team
>Fight progress is based on the enemy's turns
>Your team is so fast that the fight takes forever to "lose"

Nani

Yes, and?

...

>game has you protect the princess
>tirns out you’re the princess
>you have sex with the fake princess

>final boss trained you wrong so he could defeat you

I am not satisfied with this situation.

> Scripted boss encounter where you are supposed to wait for him to go away
> Manage to attack and win somehow (he still leaves alive)
> Get sweet drop 5 levels above you
> Can mock him in the next encounter

>timed boss battle where you are supposed to wait for da choppa
>manage to lose somehow
>if friendly NPCs can hold out long enough you still win and get res

Fucking Pokken man I swear to God.

More like there was nothing after that reveal.
The show loses a lot of steam (hueh) as it goes and that plot twist is the last worthwhile thing in it.

What's confusing about it? It's literally Prince and The Pauper but with girls and spying. The whole point is that 'le royalty is le lie and anybody can be le royalty le'. Nothing confusing about it. They're both the same, it really doesn't matter who is the Princess because either will do. Also you can tell who the 'Princess' is, based on her weird V smile. Ange (the real Princess... or is she?!) doesn't smile like that. So unless they do something special come the second series to shake it up, like, I dunno, say... Control is going to kill the Princess once the Commonwealth has won because she's not needed and is the last remaining part of the royal line that needs to be removed, so she's killed off and then Ange is like 'lol I'm the Princess and I'm going to take you down'. Or, Ange specifically fails missions because she knows Princess will be killed off when X or Y is done, so they end up fighting the Commonwealth and supporting the monarchy.

I was seething back then, especially once they start piling the extra layer of bullshit that is the escape from Ul'dah

>GUYS WE HAVE TO LEAVE THESE GUARDS MEAN BUSINESS
>"I could take them all on my own and there's 5 of us"
>YOU GO AHEAD, I'LL HOLD THEM BACK
>Supporting cast proceeds to "die" one after the other, constantly leaving the group to "hold them back"
>The fucking group healers don't heal anyone even though you've fought alongside them and know they have healing spells
>Finally a mage comes up with a plan to collapse a tunnel to stop the guards
>She collapses it on her fucking face, it's not even an accident she just didn't really consider doing it a little further away because MUH EMOTIONAL SACRIFICE
It's like I'm witnessing an actual pen and paper RPG group

And the worst part?
After everybody dies just so you could leave the city (did I mention you could have teleported out of there at any time? There's no jammer, the simply game pretends it's not a thing)
You can re-enter the city with zero consequence.
A handful of NPCs have their dialogue changed to "yeah you're a wanted man but I believe in your innocence, so I won't try to arrest you, mister God-Killer" and that's fucking it

>lose to boss
>he rapes you after the battle

I was hoping to find the game where the protag gets outed as a villain and the protags from different worlds have to gang up to stop him.

It was mostly the names that were confusing me.
By the end I wasn't sure which was the real and which was the fake.

>beat boss you’re supposed to lose to
>get an immediate game over
Thanks LISA
