These for some bit advanced simulation. For more arcadey stuff we are criminally undersupplied, with last one being maybe HAWX. I would probably advice Ace Combats on emulator if you have machine to make it run good.

Does Namco have any plans for adding SteamVR support, or are we going to have to rig it up with VorpX? Not sure is PSVR would be worth it considering DCS already has VR Support...

You can emulate 4 as well, it has only two bugs both are non-critical.
First is that 3D clouds aren't being rendered and second is that your plane (and your plane only) appears black in third person camera (but looks fine in cutscenes).
Even the devs of PCSX2 don't know what the fuck is going on, because Zero and 5 emulate perfectly nowadays.

I played both, I liked the first one, but the second one is just weird, if you like experimental stuff try that one, the campaign felt also extremely complicate

I keep reading online that PS3 versions are supposedly better than PC and X360 ones because they had additional gameplay tweaks and improvements made to them, is this true or are the tweaks insignificant enough that 60 FPS and high resolution of PC turn out better?

Arcade is good if there's a decent amount of challenge and mission complexity, or if the action is at least convincing or entertaining (i.e. there's weight and impact in dealing and receiving damage). Off-topic but EDF is one such arcadey game that ticks all these boxes. On the other hand, this cheap game doesn't seem to have any merits at all.

Yeah you clearly never played SWON if you think it has no challenge, mission complexity or that it's cheap when it was one of the highest budget LucasArts productions of PS2 era and was made by the X-Wing and TIE Fighter devs.

I picked up a used VR headset and a Saitek X52. I've played some Ace Combat but am generally fucking shit at anything realistic. The tutorials in the DCS modules I've played have been "here are the controls, now read the 100 page manual" or "watch these 2 hours of Youtube videos and just memorize everything ;)"

Which games give you a proper fucking tutorial so I can git gud?

GTA V Online has actually given me my sickest dogfights.

DCS games aren't simulators in the way most people treat the word, they are AUTISM simulators that go into very excess detail in their simulation, detail that does not make a fun videogame.
That's why you should try games like Sturmovik 1946, Cliffs of Dover and Battle over Stalingrad instead where the simulation is accurate but not autism tier.
