Are mechanical keyboards make me gooder in gaming?

Thinken of buying the Corsair Mechanical Rapidfire keyboard K70 with cherry mx speed knobs for ultra precision and fast. But it cost around €165 euro's in my Europe. So I was thinken is it worthy of investment? Would actually make benefit from a Mechanical keyboard in the computer games?

it feels nicer to use but at the skill level most anons handle here it makes almost no difference

If you're already very good at a game, it can improve your overall performance.
If you're completely shit at a game, it won't do anything.

That sounds expensive. There are definitely cheaper options available. I have a Razer (yes I know) brand mechanical keyboard that's served me extremely well that was more in the $70 range.

To answer the question of whether mechanical keyboards are actually an improvement, it really really depends on what types of games you play. I bought one for Osu!Mania specifically, which I'd argue basically necessitates a mechanical keyboard. It's improved my experience in other games as well but not nearly to the same extent. Shooters don't get too much. RTS games do a little more.

Of course you should buy it. It's the best damn KB for gaming don't you wanna up you APS?

You're not a fucking casual gamer are you?

My cherry crapped out because I fell for the detachable cable meme, so now I went back to a noname membrane keyboard
No difference in vidya whatsoever, typing is worse though

The thing is I want RGB backlights that come with it

What is the best mechanical keyboiard that has RGB

Im indeed pretty 1337

>skill level
No one gives as shit you cancerous esport playing faggot, you're the bottom of the barrel when it comes to gaming

you don't want a mechanical keyboard, you want leds and an edgy design.

It did for me, but only in specific instances.

With my old membrane keyboard, I could only press a few keys simultaneously and certain key combinations wouldn't work at all. Like, if I were holding W+A to strafe diagonally forward-left, I couldn't press Shift on top of it to speed up or slow down, depending on what type of fps game I was playing. The Shift input would not register. However, for some weird reason, W+D and Shift would work.

Now this is interesting, I was going to present an example of the number of simultaneous key presses that I can do on my mechanical keyboard and when I mash the homerow all at once it ALWAYS outputs asdfjkl; every single time. This is such weird behavior. It seems to ALWAYS output my multi-key mashed inputs in the same arrangement that it is on my keyboard. zxcvm,./ qwer iop[ how strange!!

They're lovely to type on but a total meme for videogames.

yes but also mechanical so it types easier

also in games jumping etc might be easier i think?

>With my old membrane keyboard, I could only press a few keys simultaneously and certain key combinations wouldn't work at all

This is called "key rollover" and is unrelated to switch type.
Average rollover for cheap keyboards is 6 keys, but anything with gaymen in the name will have "N-key rollover" i.e. it will register as many keys as you can press.

fucking nerd

square up nigga watchu gon do about it

nothing :$

Love my mechanical keyboard. I have spilled so much beer, water, coke and coffee. Just take off the keys, flush it with water, dry for a day and it works like brand new.

>Gooder

I can't remember the model number but I have basically the same board, except the lights are all red and no wrist pad. It's a fucking joy to type on. Probably doesn't make much difference for most people in terms of playing video games but I love it anyway.

If you're going to be a Parkinson's ridden sperg then just get a waterproof keyboard. They have drain holes and everything.

this is something i really worry about, but its easy to clean? Since I eat at my desk cause I dont have a dining table

...

>They have drain holes and everything.
Nice, now I won't have to get up pee anymore.

Is that some EDGE being played there?

>gooder

Maybe but it will help you pass that ESL exam

Whatever you do, don't fall for the Cherry MX "I'm a gamer AND I type alot!" brown switches Reddit meme. There are better tactile switches out there that don't feel like you're typing on sand-covered Reds.

Your best bet is to either go clicky or linear though. Gateron Greens are what I have on my Magicforce 82, and they work better than their Cherry counterpart.

I would get a K70 if they wouldn't have changed the simple nice font to some shitty "gamer" font in the new LUX versions. I can't find non LUX versions anywhere.

Nah I'll just get a Hitbox instead.

how about MX speed switches?

t. gets shit on every time he plays any multiplayer game

It won't make you any better at games but it will make typing feel a lot more satisfying. I regret nothing after using a non backlit membrane keyboard for a number of years.
t. owner of a K70

well in some games i have trouble jumping because the keys are kindla wobbly

is a mechanical keyboard not better at jumping in games? like complicated running jumps where you press W shift space etc all together

I bought the version with the cherry MX brown keys so I can't speak for all versions of the K70 but the tactile feedback you get from when a key is pressed does help a bit with knowing when an input is registered. Mine does have a very slight amount of wobble in the keys but it's not nearly enough to be a problem. The K70's have anti ghosting so you shouldn't ever have to worry about pressing too many keys and not having them all register.

>prefer wireless everything on my desk, have a MX Master and a cheap microsoft wireless KB
>want to upgrade the KB to a mechanical after using my friend's one and liking it
>can't find any decent wireless mechanicals that arent ricer LED shit or like 200 dollars

>prefer wireless everything on my desk
But why?

Your rig is only as good as the peripherals plugged in to it. that being said there is the problem of diminishing returns. your peripherals won't make you better at games per say, but will give you much less room for error. So in theory, with more accurate equipment, you can hone your edge and make yourself better at the game.

i mainly bought a cheap mechanical keyboard on the recommendation of an user here to reduce wear and tear on my laptop's keyboard.

i personally prefer the feel and layout of my laptop keyboard, though. i dont like keyboards having a gap between F1 and ESC.

it's my first mechanical keyboard so im getting used to it, hard to say if it's helping my apm rise in sc2.

Seriously, mech keyboards only help with rhythm games.

It depends on the game. The K70 Rapidfire is really fucking sensitive. If you brush against a key it will register instantly, which makes it a pain in the ass for typing if you like resting your hands against your keyboard. It takes little effort to move with WASD though which is nice.

The only downside is that they're made cheap and break easily. It wasn't worth the price at all.

I bought a chink brand which makes their own versions of the cherry mx. It occasionally matters and feels a bit better, but a good mouse matters more.

They're not going to make you better at video games.
They're not going to make you even type faster.

not op but i was looking at corsair rgb keyboards for a while now, and it will match my mouse so wont run 2 programmes for my rgb
now what should i pick ? k70, strafe ,k70 lux or k95 ?

no.
if you really want to be a gooder gamer you should drop the shit you are eating and start snacking like a pro.
with all the gamer vitamins and nutrisions in those bad boys you brain will go into overclocked mode yielding up to 20% more game performance.

it's nice and clean visually and i like to have my desk very tidy and empty. i have a huge white ikea desk and i often need to push the kb&m away to make room for something i'm working on. also i can take the mouse with me on the go and switch it to working on my surface with one button press.

also input lag is basically impossible to notice for me at least and i've had the kb for years and never needed to replace batteries. the mouse just plugs into microusb once a month or so for half an hour.

>CASHEWS OF CHAOS
>NUTS OF DESTRUCTION
>SEEDS OF VICTORY

What you can do is take your current keyboard and use HOLE TECHNOLOGY on it. Now you have 20% more frags!

topre or nothing peasent
