Klonoa is pretty much dead. He had his moment with the first Klonoa game on PSX. Klonoa 2 had none of the appeal.

Klonoa 2 was fine. Wasn't as overall charming as Klonoa 1 but it had plenty of it's own moments.

I think whoever wants it to be "popular" again (if that person even exist) shouldn't worry about that and rather focus on re-introducing the character to a newer audience. Which won't work because at that point they'll likely miss the appeal of the original so it will get negative reviews.
