god damn this is good, I need more of this
why is old pop so good
Why the fuck is this album popular all of a sudden?
battlefield vietnam
It could be several reasons. YouTube uses an algorithm to determine similar videos that a person might view. Everytime I have seen this suggested is when I looked for vaporwave.
Another reason might be heavy advertising funded by a foreign publisher.
Youtube algorithm + human curiosity.

I love the 80-90s japanese music, there is something so appealing and smoothing

I was going to say ">this thread again" but honestly, I don't really have a problem with YouTube Recposting.

If you're going to post some 80s Japanese music, you have to post some heavy metal too.

If you're old enough to post on Sup Forums and under the age of 40, you're a millennial.
this is now a youtube-core thread

I used one of these to play my own background music for older consoles.
>tfw early/proto J-pop has been my fucking A E S T H E T I C for nearly half a decade, and the idea of it becoming normalized somehow makes me uncomfortable.
I always made fun of people like this, yet this is slowly becoming me.
All the music in this thread has been /jp/core for years.
Don't let the /jp/ menace get any stronger, pic related: you in a few more weeks.
Hipsters generally aren't wrong.
SOCK IT TO ME SAKAMOTO
Too bad. We're already there. I've seen a few of my normies friends post about it after vaporwave died off and they searched for the samples. They love it, I guess.
Don't be a hipster about it. No one cares that you listened to it waaay before everyone else. Just appreciate the fact that more people are listening to this instead of the trash that comes in the radio now.
citypop
are the normies acquiring taste, or are the hipsters realizing they didn't actually have taste to begin with?
Is it possible for normies to have taste? They're normies.
i still love vaporwave
>tfw no club in my hipster ass city that will spin this kind of music
One can dream. I've ran into a few girls on tender who like the genre. But I just want to dance in a public setting to some Tatsuro Yamashita
>Hipsters realizing they didn't have tastes
Kek. As if. They'll move on to the next thing if too many people pick up something like city pop. I've been linking a few of my more "normie" friends some good tracks and they love it.
>Just appreciate the fact that more people are listening to this instead of the trash that comes in the radio now.
No fuck you and everyone who jumped the bandwagon, because of that the prices of the records have inflated massively when it was just fine last year.

Japanese Gentleman Stand Up Please
>virgin vinylfag vs Chad YouTuber
I know how you feel dude.
I really enjoyed this music because it reminded me of old Sega games, and that's what I grew up on. It makes sense when you think about it becoming popular now though, when you look into video game music composers, especially ones from Japan, they usually reference these bands as being their inspiration and thus it goes full circle. They make music that sounds like music they listened to, and through that we enjoy the music as well. Also the whole future funk aesthetics bullshit.
Don't feel too bad though man, at worst it'll mean that when you say what you listen to you'll either get disgusted looks by people like yourself as they think you're some hipster normalfag, or normalfags talking to you about it. I'm sure they'll get out of it eventually.
It's also interesting to see Sega composers say they reference a lot of this music. In a way it goes full circle. I heard it from their vidya, they used this kind of music as a reference.
The problem with normies isn't taste, but awareness. They aren't aware of a lot of great music because it typically isn't played on the radio and that's where they get their music from.
But over the last 5 years or so that's stopped being the case. You get shit like Pandora, or Youtube's more sophisticated recommendations, which show them stuff people who like the thing they're listening to also liked, guesses that they'll probably like it, and show it to them. These algorithms don't care about advertising or awareness, their whole job is to find similarity.
Actually, some fire in a giant warehouse is to blame for the price bump. Look it up bro.
>married to this amazing dude

I wonder if he can speak completely fluent english or he just practiced INCREDIBLY FUCKING HARD for this song, because it's 100% in english and his diction is fucking on-point.
Only his cadence and syllable stress is a little off on a few words, but it's still whoa shit
I keep getting this recommended by youtube, but I don't think it's what you're looking for

Nice taste
I've seen someone at a park play guitar and sing this song. I was blown away by the simple fact I got to hear someone who knows this music AND sings it.
