What will go wrong?

...

>kratos takes a bath with soap instead of whores
>find out he's been a nigger the whole time

What exactly can go right? It seems they've betrayed everything that would make this game an actual instalment in the series. I'm sure critics will praise it for it's story

>yoked mother fucker fights gods because he is pissed off

Yeah... They have totally betrayed everything about the series.

They completely changed the gameplay, and now it looks like shit.

He doesn't seem even half as pissed as he was before.

Why would he be? He basically eliminated everyone who made him mad at the time and moved to a place where he basically doesn't know anybody.

Do you think theyre grooming his son to become some kind of successor to kratos?

They changed the game mechanics and ruined everything. How am I supposed to feel like an unstoppable killing machine without pushing buttons on demand? You mean I have full control of attacks which rip skulls from enemies bodies? That sounds like too much work.

Exactly his story is pretty much over and he's being dragged into a new conflict. Now it would be nice if he became more and more like the old Kratos as the game went on but having his son tagging along really reduces the odds of him going whoring and ignoring any and all pleas for mercy

I also don't like where they're positioned the camera and how everything generally seems toned down.

I don't think it'll be absolute garbage but as someone who enjoyed the past games I'll give it a pass

Maybe. I wouldn't exactly mind it as long as he played entirely different. Apparently they also recently confirmed that they would be aiming at Maya/Egyptian mythology down the line.

eh, my personal problem is that there were still greek gods with stories that could have been told.

My own idea for a God of War IV would have basically involved Kratos getting pulled out of the gutter by Dionysus, Aphrodite, and Artemis because the world isn't free assholes gods like Zeus as Kratos thought.

Eris is basically now calling the shots and making things worse for everyone, and thus, a tired, battle wary Kratos is pushed back into the fight, the gods backing him promise 'do this for the world and promise to fuck off and keep quiet'. In story-terms, Kratos' power is supposed to progress back with him finding his will to fight as well as relearning his anger and controlling it.

To make things more complicated though, Nemesis is loose and working with a pissed off Demeter to torment Kratos over his past.

Things reach a boiling point when Kratos is at the end of his ropes and Eris mentions she was the Oracle who told Zeus the prophecy of the marked warrior. Which basically set Kratos on his path in life with Eris doing the typical villain thing and needling him over it.

Unlike before though, Kratos throwing all his anger at Eris does jackshit because goddess of Chaos.

Kratos would need to make peace with Demeter and Nemesis and try to find Tyche and Nike to help him stop Eris, as without hope, only Luck and Victory will be able to overcome Chaos.

underrated

>what will go wrong?
DARING SYNTHESIS

If so then putting kratos away would be a better idea than having him go around the world just killing god after god. It would feel like some shitty shonen anime at that point

It's slow, floaty, non-flashy and as such, not fun to play.

everything

My absolute biggest gripe with the game right now is the camera angle they've chosen for it. It looks like it belongs in a third person shooter. They need to pull it way back or center the camera on Kratos instead of the weird over the shoulder view they have now.

fuck I could see this happening

It sounds way too much like Halo 4. Kratos ran himself through the Blades Of Chaos in front of Athena at the end of 3 because he realized Athena's was using him all along and his war on the Parthenon accomplished nothing. Athena walking away disgusted and insulting him before the camera pans to show he's escaped so his soul can't be dragged out of hell by others wanting to use him. That's a perfect ending for a Greek tragedy. Now Kratos suddenly being pulled out of a quiet life in solitude hiding from the gods because of a new threat. That's the plot of Halo 4 again. And there's nothing indicating they have the storytelling strength to justify bringing Kratos back outside of "Protecting a kid". Also they changed everything people liked about the series, like Halo 4. And you know what else was like Halo 4? Uncharted 4 (Except with more numales giving it 10/10 cause of the walking sections).

Every 4th game is cursed.

They got rid of the disgusting nigger voice actor though, you'd think Sup Forums would be praising it for that

>Sup Forums praising anything
>Ever

Sup Forums praises anything Nintendo or on PC

>Every 4th game is cursed
>Uncharted 4 is objectively the best in the series and the multiplayer is fun
Doesnt sound like much of a curse

>Every 4th game is cursed.
Usually because trilogy as a format works best for epic narratives.
You have the initiation, the journey, and the climax. Usually in the first installment in a series the audience is introduced into the world, its characters etc. and a certain episodic narrative is closed within the one episode which allows it to stand on its own but also foreshadows further prospects (in case a sequel does not happen). This is why the middle parts are often sort of anti-climatic (star wars, lord of the rings, matrix etc.)
Anything post-climax is just a forced on baggage. Like sex, it does not feel any much good and you'd be more content doing something else.

I'd play it

Nah, that nigger voice actor is now within the shield of nostalgia for the ps2 and the early-mid 2000s.

>UC4 has less encounters, less set pieces and less puzzles
>Multiplayer is Lootbox P2W before it became popular and nowhere near as good as UC2 or 3
Found the soyboy.

All 4 UCs are movies

The fact that they dragged in kratos again despite his story being definitively over kills a lot of the interest I might have had in this game. Why not a new character? A norse warrior who got his sons slaughtered and wife raped at the hands of a drunken thor? Denied justice by an aloof and uncaring oden?

It's a real shame too because combat wise UC4 plays the best out of all of them. Swinging around was great and added some verticality to each combat room, but the game doesn't feel like it takes full advantage of either until the final act of the game.
