I still remember playin a newer COD game on my friend's PS3 and the running was bound to the left stick button, so you ended up pressing it every few seconds, horrible, disgusting.
The worst part is this seems to be the norm for console shooters, this industry is full of retards, and you can't even change the controls

I'd say it's the exact opposite. Sometimes you need to quickly get a shot off and you just can't. The firing buttons in particular led to unwanted shooting, which is the exact opposite of what you want in a stealth game.
Don't get me wrong, MGS3 is one of the best games ever, but the shooting controls suck extreme ass.

to its credit, it worked better on ps2 than it did for ps3 and it was to simulate the sense of slowly releasing a trigger

analog buttons on ps3 were way too sensitive. I also kept slitting throats left and right whereas that wasn't much of an issue on ps2, which needed plenty of force to initiate

I switched back to the DS1 jump controls on both 2 and 3.

So you can have a choice between jumping or rolling.

I disagree, I thought it played much better than the other two. It had the right blend of speed and strategy, unlike Bloodborne which was far too fast and spammy for me.
I was never a big Souls fanboy either so revisiting locations just seemed cool and not some horrible betrayal. What was the big deal with revisited locations again?

I'm playing DaS2 right now and I switched it back to "classic", it might be inferior in some instances but fuck using analog triggers for anything requiring precise inputs.
