Now that the dust has settled, is this game worth picking up? Or does it get boring after the first 30mins?

Now that the dust has settled, is this game worth picking up? Or does it get boring after the first 30mins?

Bump. Thinking of picking this up from Cdkeys

Any one?

I did get bored at the last island but that was after tons of hours, the game is still worth.

Did you enjoy the first two, or are you a fag that's never played any "RPG" but Skyrim?

I enjoyed the first one, but the swamp area really tested my patience, and I gave up shortly thereafter.

Everyone hated the swamp. You'll enjoy 3.

I'm a huge Witcher fan. I've finished Witcher 1 and 2, even the entire collection of books. I'm in Novigrad in Witcher 3 but I don't wanna play it anymore. Im 40 hours in the game but somehow I can't play it again. I believe I did so much unnecessary quests and interest points. They were so fucking pointless. I really wish I could play it again soon.

Depends. I'm a sucker for open world games that put stuff to do everywhere and that stuff to do is actually fun. If you tried to do all the side quests and monsters all over each zone I'm sure it would take an upwards of 200 hours to complete.

the plot is just intriguing enough to move onto the next story quest when you get bored of exploring the world. But the story isn't good enough to rush it because you want to know what happens next.

Really the best world building happens in each village when you do monster contracts.

>Multiple awards
>Multiple threads
>Massive asshurt from other devs, SJW, companies and fanboys for the massive applause it got
>Won RPG of the year two years in a row
>Is dis wordit le meme Sup Forums told me so

How much proof do you need

It's okay if you play it as an adventure game, great characters, pretty world, the music is perfect, but I always wanted more gameplay possibilities, you only have two swords, can't sneak, the world is barren, and things like that, the game would be perfect if they did that.
Also, play Blood and Wine, it's very good.
Yeah, Swamp was shit, but after that it gets good. They should've just put motor legs on Geralt or make smaller maps, I didn't care to play side-quests at all because of this.

I don't listen to anyone except Sup Forums
Thanks guys.

Just noticed that all the cdkey websites are only selling GOG keys, not steam. Welp. Guess I have to keep waiting.

Well, buy it on GOG then. Steam sucks.

What's wrong with GOG? It's great. You can still add it to your steam library to get the steam overlay and stuff.

It's like you don't want goodieees, it comes with fuckton of them.

pirate the gog version its DRM free.

Its my new rig that I just put together, and I want to avoid installing unnecessary software (I know, I'm being overly pedantic, but this always happens when I have a fresh HDD. Give it a few months and there will be all sorts of shit on my drive).

It's DRM free. It'll be just the game. You don't need any client.

Yeah, gog is great (if you ignore the fact that they slap a $20 price on previously free shovelware). I just hope CDPR doesn't go full Gaben in future.

DLC is pretty lit. story is alright.

tips: turn off HUD from time to time. gwent was a mistake.

Agree. Also, the best thing for HUD is to install a mod, mine looks like this, you really soak the world in when your eyes aren't on the map, following the line the whole time.

wtf is going on with the colour there

A Reshade, I'm trying to make something that looks normal, everything on Nexus is shit.
But, I guess I'll just stick to vanilla.

What about the HD Rework mod? New version came out recently.

jesus what the fuck did you do to the color and sharpness user holy shit

It's good, nice models and textures, really like new water, but you need a good PC, my GTX 980ti gets over 60° in the summer when I play with the mod and it has occasional issues with other mods, so you always have to re-merge them.

>bullied
pussy

Yeah, but it depends on the lightning, so it ranges from beautiful to unbearable mess.

Also, I don't know why I even bother with ENBs and Reshades, they are like that for every game.
I don't understand why people like depth of field

>Or does it get boring after the first 30mins?
Yes and no. I got bored of it way after 30 minutes, more like after 50 hours. Then I got super into it around the 100 hour mark.

Any mods to hide information from the player? Too many map icons, can I enable proximity icons only? Exploration is being harmed by fast-travel and an abundance of information that's being presented to me (maps, icons, etc.)

Skyrim is more of an RPG than the witcher 3 is.

Witcher 3 feels more like a typical open world game like far cry, or red dead redemption.

Not really. There are mods like this:
that hide HUD elements, but it's still the same game. I like to play without using witcher senses (I also have a mod that makes you enter first person in witcher senses), when you need to follow a trail, you walk around, and look for footprints, but again, the game isn't really meant to be played that way.

Is this true? I prefer RPGs

Yeah, it's true, but the game is still worth playing.

All the Witcher games are more chose-your-own-adventure games. There's all the RPG character management, but it's primarily an adventure game where you play as Geralt the guy who uses swords, some magic and alchemy.

>Massive asshurt from other devs,

kek. Any details on this?

>I believe in you!

>Dandelion quest
>track down and interview like 8 fucking women, dismantle an entire criminal syndicate, write and perform and a full fucking play to lure out Dudu, kill the captain of the Temple Guard and burn down its headquarters all to track down Dandelion because he's supposed to know where Ciri is
>finally locate and rescue the retard bard
>"Ciri? Wait a minute, she isn't with you?!"

Other than the fucking Dandelion quest it's a really good game

>texture on that manticor armor

t. console peasant

He made it up. Everyone in games industry is almost obligated to like Witcher 3.

it's basically an all-white cast so that alone makes it 10/10

can't you appreciate how ridiculous that is tho

best game in a very, very long time. No token kangz and only one who fights for pink team and interaction only about 2 mins.

>dismantle an entire criminal syndicate
and the bodies of mutilated women hanging everywhere in his bedroom don't make to worth it, or did they censor it for console?

(this guy is secret gay)

what year you living in?

this is one of the really good things about the game

>I prefer RPGs
I don't know what the other guy is on about. It's unquestionably an RPG.

wild guess-- you're a kang or soy boy or some combo?

I agree with you, newfag
>Diablo is an RPG
okay...

Eh...

>It's unquestionably a story driven action adventure game.
fixed that for you

CDkeys is a grey market. Either get it from Steam/GOG or just pirate it.

I thought the controls sucked and the story made no sense, but after a while it grew on me. Put 180 hours into it and loved it. It takes time, but give it a decent chance and you'll love it.

>the story made no sense
very admirable of you to be so open about your disabilities in such a public forum.

>Diablo is an RPG
Yes, it is. Your point?
I don't get this meme. It's as much of an RPG as Skyrim is.

It's worth it.
There's just enough depth in the skill system that you can make some pretty kewl builds (alchemy skill tree is absolutely OP if you carefully read what you can do with it, and how toxicity works).
The main draw is definitely the voice acting, characters, and story. Especially if you played either of the previous ones, it's worth it for that alone.
There are also mods for pretty much all of the things that someone would want to tweak about the game.

I highly recommend it, but to be honest I loved both the previous Witcher games despite their inherent jank, so you MIGHT consider me biased.

You don't have a lot of experience or understanding of the potential of RPGs is what I am getting from what you've said.

Witcher is only slightly more of an RPG than many of the homogenized RPGs of the past 10 years we have seen. It's like a slightly more in-depth Fable, which itself was hardly an RPG. Elder Scrolls have a freedom in character building - role-playing that is - that Witcher 3 forgoes for a lot of polished prettiness.

Was anyone able to predict that Raymond was Azer the whole time prior to finding the evidence? I kinda felt that his help was coincidental, but I wouldn't say that I was leaning toward that discovery. I also liked how you could fuck with him after finding out.

100% worth just dont get burned out playing it

>You don't have a lot of experience or understanding of the potential of RPGs
> Elder Scrolls have a freedom in character building
Were you trying to prove yourself inexperienced with RPGs?

Whatever you say. Just read my post and try to understand it, I don't need to hear anything from you.
