If I get scared easily, does that mean I should play horror games or does that mean I should avoid horror games?
If I get scared easily, does that mean I should play horror games or does that mean I should avoid horror games?
do you want to play horror games? play horror games
don't want to play horror games? don't play horror games
It means you should play good horror games.
It means you should, pussy. Avoiding a fear reinforces it, while exposure to that fear reduces it (eventually). Also lots of great horror games out there(DS1+2 are the best in recent memory)
It means you should lower your estrogen level.
>If I get scared easily
stop drinking soy
some "horror" games are just action games w/ a horror atmosphere.
>Avoiding a fear reinforces it, while exposure to that fear reduces it (eventually).
Why is reducing your fear of something scary a good thing? Fear is a natural instinct to keep you from danger.
Delete this immediately.
It means post more pictures of animu girls in tight outfits
...
Reducing fear of Horror is generally a positive thing.
It means you should play them.
The fact that you're easily scared makes you get super immersed into them, or at least it does for me. Or more like did, seeing as I'm slowly becoming more and more jaded towards horror games. Immersion is a lovely thing that's hard to find.
Can we talk about why the stasis guage is on her crotch?
if you live alone and stay up all night with high anxiety and become easily stressed and paranoid, then no, avoid horror.
i described myself by the way. i love gore but i dun like getting spooked. ghosts might be my biggest fear
>(DS1+2 are the best in recent memory)
That's a very sad state of affairs.
For easier refilling
This desu, I used to be a huge pussy as a kid but I started playing Silent Hill and other games and now no videogame phases me.
Because you're no longer an animal, which means that you should be able to tell if something is dangerous by logic. Fear of clowns, for instance, is something usually illogical.
because being afraid of things that can't actually hurt you is retarded
Ever seen one of those videos where someone is messing around on the side of a high building?
I want to play good horror game like SH2 sometime but I got scared easily so I need a person beside me most of the time or else I wouldn't even bother to open it.
Fear makes horror games more fun and challenging.
I wish I were still as scared of horror games and horror generally as I used to be.
Being able to react rationally in duress is always more effective than panic.
>you should be able to tell if something is dangerous by logic
not my fault if they're retarded and lack logic
I don't understand horror games. Why would one invest time, money, and or even effort into frightening themselves?
While it probably just makes me sound like something of an asshole, I can't help but imagine that you'd have to have led a pretty damn sheltered life to find enjoyment in purposely seeking suffering. It kind of looks similar to emo kids cutting themselves to me but not as extreme.
to make you FEEL
it's an extension of building atmosphere. gotta do something with that atmosphere
>to make you FEEL
And you choose fear and despair?
For what purpose?
I suppose being frightened can give you sort of an adrenaline rush.
most likely it's comparable to asking "why work", "why do something challenging". you conquer the hurdle and increase your strength as a result.
>I can't help but imagine that you'd have to have led a pretty damn sheltered life to find enjoyment in purposely seeking suffering
I have, and you probably have too if you're living somewhere with an internet connection and free time to waste posting on a dumb imageboard.
Horror is fun. Adrenaline is fun. Horror games tend to be more immersive than most other games.
Plenty of reason to like them.
I think a lot of people do grow out of horror as they get older, because they come to that same conclusion - there's other ways to feel feelings. but it is obviously a complex topic
>I think a lot of people do grow out of horror as they get older, because they come to that same conclusion
Because it doesn't work any more, not because they'd rather do something else.
If you like being scared - play horror games.
If you dislike it - don't.
It's easy.
Just play Resident Evil 7 in VR, the spooky factor of it is unparalleled and something like Dead Space will just seem like an action game after it.
