Is 'There are Billions' a good game?
Looks fun.

no
It's only fun in the beginning when you're trying to figure out you can't play this like your normal RPS. Once that phase is over, it becomes a mindless, repetitive grind and constant restarts for a map that is actually winnable.
>for a map that isnactually winnable
I was wondering if i was just shit(well, I am) or if the algorithms were giving me shit.
The game also suffers from some flow issues upgrading to a wood workshop and getting first upgrades while building walls.
Shit indie game you will get bored of in 30 minutes, pirate it see if you like it and move on
it has a wc3 custom game feeling, it's surprisingly fun to play and an actually challenging rts for a change. i would call it a good game
The game relies on you micro-ing everything because the ai is utter crap. And then there are maps completely low/lack of stone, which is pretty much impossible on higher difficulty, Once you figured out how the game is actively trying to screw you over, it just becomes tedious as there really isn't much variation of how the mid-end game can go.
I do love though when I get a decent late game army(which you have to get to lste game to secure the map) and place a bunch of snipers and lucifers in chase mode to go fuck shit up.
It is lacking in content. The devs are trying to make a campaign.
It needs
- Mills on the water, or some sort of terrain based building off normal land.
- The ability to cross water with a building.
- Economic flows are weird too. Tier flow is off, you can struggle to push tier 1 to tier 2, then develop, then rush through tier 3 and 4. Also tons of buildings are redundant.
- Need metal based defences, steel walls maybe and a bunker alternative to the tower for each material type. Bunkers should hold more units and take more damage but be unable to shoot over walls. Should also be able to have lucifers.
- Unit rebalance.
- Better generational algorithms, holy shit is like they only use cellular automata to generate maps.
>be unable to shoot over walls.
So worse than wood towers then. I can see why you don't design games.
Okay, anybody knows a good RTS management game which is not:
- Dwarf Fortress
- Oxygen not included
- Nothgrad
- Rimworld
- Factorio
- Minecraft modded
- FTL
- Darkest Dungeon
etc?
I mean, i tend to eat those games up and now i'm blocked, waiting for Frostpunk
Really? I think it looks boring as fuck, the aesthetic really makes me lose all interest in playing it
Prison architect
You'll enjoy they are billions. Even if only for an afternoon.
Definitely needs balance or improved map generation, but it's okay.
Evil Genius
Dungeon Keeper
>$25 for an early access game that you will only enjoy for an afternoon
pirate it seriously, It literally one gig and the newest patch/version is seeded
As opposed to $120 plus tip for a triple a gold edition of a game, you wont enjoy until you drop another $150.
Already played Prison architect Evil Genius and dungeon keeper, not very found of it even though i can keep on playing it for a day.
Played they are billions already, seems a bit limited for me on the possibilities with the zombies. I just find it stupid to prosper against waves of bull shit (not like DF cause getting attacked by gobs is fun).
So disapointed by oxygen not included and the none possibility to stabilize in your colony.
Agree with everything you say. Though they are billions has multiple zombies appearing later on, and like oxygen not included they are both still being updated.
Which leaves me waiting for MH World, Frostpunk, or something worth playing and having un on. Anyone have any suggestion for a game worth paying for?
>RPS
what the fuck is it
