Name a better intro to a videogame

Name a better intro to a videogame.

>not starting in a prison jail cell

Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty

you've been SLEEping in the JOb

...

Chrono Cross

Give me a fucking break

>cart last seen at escape velocity passing Jupiter

Some good intro cutscenes

Asssassin's Creed Revelations
Fallout 1
Metal Gear Solid 4
FEAR
Deus Ex
Prey (not Arkane's Prey)

Some good opening levels

Vanquish
God of War 2
Super Metroid
Final Fantasy VII

Bioshock was such a good game.

Thank you for your contribution to the thread.

>tfw i actually liked HL1's intro

Great intro up until the dragon shows up. Too bad the rest of the game's story is generic shit

Why didn't Ulfric just take off the gag and shout everyone to death to save his own life? His hands were tied in front of his body.

Most overrated games thread?

Do people not?

It's an amazing beginning to a legendary game at this point. You learn everything from the beginning. You see a dragon which is the main theme of the game, you make your character, you're introduced into most of the main mechanics (lockpicking, combat, dialogue) in a natural way and after the cave it eases you into its open-world, where it leaves you to explore and wonder what you might encounter. You literally can't ask more from a game intro.

FFVII probably still has my favorite opening to any game.

>have >60 Hz screen
>literally can't play Skyrim without external frame limiter

A better question is what video game has the worst intro.

Strider (2014)

half-life

Deus Ex unironically.

When will this meme die.

I can't.

You know, I always found it wierd how the guard says
>Shut up back there!
But then the horse thief turns to ulfric and says
>Whats wrong with him?
Is he commenting about whats wrong with Ulfric? He is visibly gagged, you wouldnt say whats wrong with him if you can see it. Or is he saying that the guard is sassy or something and trying to quip for a response to the person who is gagged.
The delivery of the line just baffles me.

When your contrarian views are actually agreed with. Bioshock 1&2 we're amazing but infinite was a clusterfucker, albeit a nice looking clusterfuck.

>The delivery of the line just baffles me.

its almost like that's a problem with every bethesda game

Don't worry, I'm sure that Bethesda doesn't know the answer either.

Add to the intro cutscenes list Mechwarrior 2,3 & 4, Oddworld Abe's Exoddus and Starcraft Brood War

Yes
God of war 2 had an insanely good opening level

Pic related & DS1 will always be my fav
Bioshock close second
REmake has a great cutscene, couldn't believe how the game was so good looking in the cube
God of War first level was jaw-dropping at the time as well

...

Everyone likes it. It's great! Half Life 2 has a great intro too.

Arkham Asylum

Unironically agree.

True kino intro coming up

Super Mario Odyssey. Gain control of Mario in 37 seconds, escape the tutorial level which is still kind of fun in around 3 minutes, get to the main meat of the game by 4. Let me skip your shitty fucking cinematic intro and actually play the video game.

too bad City was so boring, this game was really fun
>do the intro over again
>but this time you play as Joker and Batman is the one strapped in
>hops out of his grave realizing Scarecrow is messing with him
true kino

Breath of the Wild has the best tutorial of any video game. Its also the best part about it. As mentioned in this thread Half-Life and especially Half-Life 2 are also great. Personally i also like Spore.
