Video game bathrooms II

So, almost every game got bathroom (and that doesn't, is not a good game anyway).

Some bathrooms scary, like girl bathrooms in horror games, such as Silent Hill.
Some bathrooms are cozy and quite, like bathrooms in Hitman.
Some a just cool looking.

What is your favorite bathroom in video game?
I am planing to make top Video Game Bathrooms III.

First two lists.

I like highly interactive ones, like in PREY 2006.
A working mirror is mandatory.

Mirror is practicality a quality control test. Mandatory.
Thank you for suggestion, getting the game now.

what is this garbage? this isn't prey.

If you want futuristic bathrooms, there's Precursors.
You get your own ship with a bathroom and there are also public ones on space stations and planets.

Plese be bait.

...

Why is the toilet seat square in shape?

underage b&

...

bruh

Beautiful finds!
Very authentic and good looking bathrooms.

Adding to the lest so far
- Prey (original and squeal)
- Precursors
- Golden eye 64

Chronicles of Riddick has a few shower and toilet rooms.
Also Mafia 2.

That is a sweet shower room. I had something like that in my dream actually.

They actually couldn't get the mirrors right in Mafia 3.
I don't know why is it so hard for new games to have normal functional mirrors.

>I don't know why is it so hard for new games to have normal functional mirrors.
Probably because it's not just a simple reflection. It's easier in first person games since you're just taking what the camera sees, but reversing it. when you start talking about third person you need to use a bunch of matrix math to calculate the risk of polarity and single floating point precision of the view the camera is seeing reflected off the mirror onto the view the mirror is seeing. basically your computer can't handle this in real time while running a game in real time.

Game was developed by soycucks, of course they can't get mirrors to work.
They were busy sucking Jamals cock.

I never thought about it. You right.
But then again, Half Life Beta (screen attached) had working mirrors, but then, it is first person.

But then Hitman (original) is an old game, third person, but had no trouble with mirrors.

What's a good placement for sink, bathtub , shower and/or toilet? Can seem to make it right in Sims 4.

It's time to chew ass has working mirrors and aliens taking a shit

can't*

it can't be topped

What a load of uninformed bullshit.
Never talk about shit you know nothing about.
In first person view the very same technices are used as in 3rd.

Old games used to literally make a dublicate of every object in the room and place it on the opposite like in a window and clone the player character.
More modern games started to use a shader which simply renders the same scene at displaced camera angles but with lower resolution and reduced lighting details. Often post processing effects like AA are missing in these reflections.

All old games had to do was making a duplicate room behind a glass looking texture. They were simple rooms to duplicate. We'd have to see a lot of downgrade graphically to be able to render that much twice just for a mirror.

...

There's a bathroom in Max Payne 1 where the guy leaves his uzi on the table and you have to wait from him to unlock the door and come out. It's a reference to Pulp Fiction where John Travolta does the same thing

>Old games used to literally make a dublicate of every object in the room and place it on the opposite like in a window and clone the player character.
old games were a rectangle room with one texture.
>use a shader which simply renders the same scene at displaced camera angles but with lower resolution and reduced lighting details
matrix math, you retard.
>dublicate
opinion discarded

Guy, no fighting in my thread please. We have important research going on.

Also, when you post beautiful screens, don't forget to mention, what game it is.
As i am trying ti get the game right away or add to the list.

Thank you!

I can't believe i also forgot Doom 3

Bioshock 2 multiplayer menu which was an apartment.

SWAT 3 had such a good realistic mirrors in the bathrooms, but SWAT 4 mirrors look very streched

There is nothing remarkable about it, but the bathrooms in Golden Eye were pretty iconic.

Also Duke3D.

so any recently released games with functioning mirrors?

the new Hitman game.
GTA5 on PC
Talos Principle

Golden Eye is 100% on my list, recording it first.
Duke 3d, got to take a look.

I am thinking to make Video Game Bathrooms II The Good ol Classics Edition.

dont you love to take a shit with everyone else right there watching you? You can even keep the conversation with your other shitting buddies and look them right in the eyes,

...

Did they ever fix the mirrors in mafia 3?

the bathroom in vice city where its basicly the bathroom of scarface

the Silent Hills demo had a bathroom, didnt it?

Wait, hold on.
Silent Hill have a demo?

Duke3D's bathrooms were imporant due to the time when it was released.

We were all used to "abstract" level designs like impractical hallways of Wolfenstein or the demonic-sci-fi catacombs of Doom.

Duke was one of the first FPSs that felt like you were actually in a human-built environment. Comparing it to Doom 2 Hell on Earth, which was suposed to actually take place on earth but lacked stores, shops and bathrooms etc.

Plus I believe it was one of the first games to use mirrors. So it gets TECHNOLOGY cred right there.

yea but no mirrors

Silent HILLS, that demo that was called PT for the cancelled game

Fuck off retard in fucking max payne you had mirrors.

game?

...

Is it playable? Can it be found?

...

Your HUD settings are disgusting. Turn it off or use the timed fade.

I remember the thing I found most impressive about Battlefield 4 was the 1st time I entered a fully destructible house and noticed that they actually bothered to model and decorate the bathroom.

I think you underestimate how powerful computers are

>shoot hat off guy in shitter while directly above him
>7 yo me though the hair texture was gore

What game is it?

You're retarded

I don't like bathrooms in horror, always some scary shit in there

WUT

Wew lad and don't even get me started on the vortex equations you have to work out to even get ONE (1) mirror working much less multiple mirrors in one bathroom. Setting the quasilateral numerical slide values alone would take a ONI level matrixtician to figure out.

You can create a working shower in Minecraft

Bully has great bathrooms, working mirrors and many mechanics to use.

>>that feel when flushing prefects and teacher's heads

Oh yes, You can also take other students to the shower with you.
youtu.be/Jp33L6JOPBg?t=4m9s

Deus Ex 1. Top and best example

Gta5 had shit mirrors, wtf are you talking about.

It's not just about mirrors. I think he means they all have good looking bathrooms.

Nah, this is a proper gta bathroom

Shit wrong image

Bioshock had bathrooms that took a quarter
Sonic Adventures locker room

FUCK

no way

I think it's more of an issue with textures and models than the math to animate them or camera positions. Environments used to have 10,000s of triangles and character models would have 1000 or so and props would have even less than character models. Textures were 256x256 on average, smaller for smaller things. Maybe 512x512 for walls/floors. Now environments are 100,000s of triangles and characters themselves are over 10,000 with objects ranging between 1000 and 10,000 themselves. The method of simulating mirrors hasn't changed, you still make a copy of the environment, reverse it, pop it in the mirror shape and then occlude what isn't visible so your'e not copying the entire world, just the room/what can be seen. But now you're doubling a lot more shit. Textures are bigger too. Models aren't that bad with instancing but textures are very resource intensive. So by creating a mirror via the doubling method, you're doubling the work load for that room. It's kind of a silly thing to spend memory on when everything else is so much better quality now.

People have posted the Prey vs nu-Prey bathroom comparison before but if you notice, the old one isn't even close in terms of all the different effects nu-Prey has. Old Prey is all direct lighting, low poly, lower res texture, no physical based textures, etc. Nu-Prey has simulated GI, radiosity, AA, Ambient occlusion, etc along with more polys, bigger textures, multiple materials, etc. Plus Nu-Prey has the excuse of the story being just a dream/simulation so seeing yourself in the mirror means seeing that you're an alien and not Morgan.

It's just a silly thing to get worked up over. I feel like there's a group who just like walking around pretty environments and don't really give a shit about games. They're responsible for this trend of cinematic FP/TP linear open world shit we get so much of.

> HVT extraction missiom
> 20 minutes of prep
> breach succcessful, prelim hostiles neutralized, entry point clear
> where the fuck is our pointman?
> he's in the bathroom staring at the faucets watching water fill up the basin while standing on the toilet making it flush

old prey looks better

Did NMH 2 put a poster for their own game in their own game?

No More Heroes 2: Desperate Struggle. I think.
